Auston Matthews C | TOR
Maple Leafs' Auston Matthews: Massive impact in return
Matthews (upper body) scored a goal and had two assists Saturday in a 6-4 win over the Bruins.
Matthews had missed Toronto's past six games due to an upper-body injury, but he looked as fast and dominant in his return. He also willingly took and gave out body contact without any concern. Still, after the game, coach Craig Berube told Tony Ambrogio of TSN, "We definitely have to manage him and get him to a point where he's fully healthy. Whether that's a bit of time off I don't know." Matthews needs to be in your lineup stat, but watch for some load management going forward. It sure sounds like he'll be rested for maintenance at times to make sure he's sound for the postseason.

Jake Guentzel C | TB
Lightning's Jake Guentzel: Notches helper in loss
Guentzel provided an assist and three shots on goal in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Kings.
Guentzel was held off the scoresheet Thursday versus the Sharks in his return from a one-game absence due to an upper-body injury. The Lightning's offense was cold again Saturday, but the winger helped out on Victor Hedman's first-period tally. Guentzel has 10 goals and six assists over 12 outings since the start of December. He's at 20 goals, 18 helpers, 97 shots on net, 29 blocked shots and a plus-10 rating through 35 appearances this season.

Samuel Helenius C | LA
Kings' Samuel Helenius: Sits out Saturday
Helenius was scratched for Saturday's 2-1 win over the Lightning.
Helenius had played in the prior 15 games, averaging 8:14 of ice time in that span while failing to record a point. If the Kings decide they don't need to roster 14 forwards, Helenius could be a player they consider reassigning to AHL Ontario now the team's forward group is fully healthy. The 22-year-old has just two assists and 70 hits through 21 appearances this season.

Alex Turcotte C | LA
Kings' Alex Turcotte: Threads helper in win
Turcotte notched an assist in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Lightning.
Turcotte threaded a pass to Adrian Kempe for the game-winning goal in the third period. The Kings' usage of seven-defensemen lineups has allowed Turcotte to get some key even-strength minutes with big-name players. The 23-year-old has responded with seven points and 14 shots on net over his last 11 outings. For the season, he's at 15 points, 34 shots on net and a plus-11 rating over 33 appearances.

Phillip Danault C | MON
Kings' Phillip Danault: Generates assist in win
Danault logged an assist in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Lightning.
Danault continues to be a playmaker in a middle-six role. He's earned one assist in each of his last six games while taking just four shots on net in that span. The 31-year-old center is up to 21 points (three goals, 18 helpers) while adding 56 shots on net, 34 hits, 33 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating through 37 appearances.

Brayden Schenn C | NYI
Blues' Brayden Schenn: Four-game, five-point streak
Schenn scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Blue Jackets.
Schenn is on a four-game, five-point scoring streak that includes three goals, and he has 38 faceoff wins (59.4) in that span. You can't count on Schenn to be that proficient at the dot -- he has a career 47.6 winning percentage in 980 games over 12 seasons -- but you can catch lightning in a bottle occasionally with this 40-point pivot who sometimes goes on streaks like this. Be prepared to drop him when the magic ends. Because it will.

Jordan Kyrou C | STL
Blues' Jordan Kyrou: Showing signs of offense
Kyrou scored a goal and added an assist in a 6-4 loss to the Blue Jackets on Saturday.
Kyrou scuffled early in the season with no multi-point games and just 11 points (five goals, six assists) in a 17-game span from Oct. 26 to Nov. 30. He broke that trend with a two-goal game Dec. 3, but followed that showing with 10 straight appearances without a multi-point game leading into the holiday break. By contrast, Kyrou has two multi-point games in his last five contests and six points, including three goals, over his last six appearances. Kyrou is far more talented than what he showed earlier this campaign, and with these recent sparks, we think he's in line for a second-half upswing. You may be able to get Kyrou in a deal from a frustrated manager.
