David Kampf C | WAS
Maple Leafs' David Kampf: First point since return
Kampf logged an assist and two hits in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Islanders.
Kampf picked up his first point in three games since he returned from a lower-body injury that cost him 12 contests. He was up in a second-line role Saturday since Auston Matthews (upper body) was unavailable. Kampf is best suited to a bottom-six role -- he has four helpers, 19 hits, 19 shots on net and a plus-1 rating while averaging 12:38 of ice time over 21 outings this season.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau C | NYI
Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Nets goal in win
Pageau scored a goal on three shots, added two hits and went plus-2 in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Maple Leafs.
Pageau has seven points over his last seven games despite getting on the scoresheet in just three of those contests. The Islanders' forward group is healthy now, so Pageau has returned to the third line after a foray into the top six while Mathew Barzal and Anthony Duclair were sidelined. Pageau is up to 17 points, 60 shots on net, 64 hits and a plus-1 rating through 32 appearances, and he continues to have decent fantasy value in deeper formats.

Mathew Barzal C | NYI
Islanders' Mathew Barzal: Fills empty cage
Barzal scored an empty-net goal on five shots and went plus-2 in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Maple Leafs.
Barzal picked up his first point in three games since he returned from a long-term upper-body injury. The 27-year-old has been back at center since his return rather than playing on the wing, and it appears his offense is taking some time to come around without Bo Horvat to prop him up. Barzal has six points, 34 shots on net and a minus-4 rating over 13 appearances this season. He's talented, so fantasy managers might want to buy low on him in hopes a lineup shuffle gets him back in a more prominent spot.

Yegor Sharangovich C | CGY
Flames' Yegor Sharangovich: Earns helper in win
Sharangovich notched an assist in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Blackhawks.
Sharangovich ended a seven-game slump with the helper. The 26-year-old has been playing in a third-line role recently, though he remains a factor on the power play. He has struggled compared to last year, logging nine points, 63 shots on net and a minus-10 rating through 27 contests.

Mikael Backlund C | CGY
Flames' Mikael Backlund: Finds twine in win
Backlund scored a goal on six shots and added four PIM in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Blackhawks.
Backlund has four points, 13 shots on net, six blocked shots and eight PIM over his last four games. The center typically isn't a great source of category coverage, but he can usually chip in some offense. For the season, the 35-year-old has six goals, 10 assists, 95 shots on net, 20 PIM and a plus-6 rating through 34 outings.

Nazem Kadri C | COL
Flames' Nazem Kadri: Scores in Saturday's win
Kadri scored a goal on two shots in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Blackhawks.
Kadri has a goal in five of the last six games. The center is up to 13 tallies, 22 points, 110 shots on net, 25 hits, 30 PIM and a minus-16 rating through 34 appearances. He's picked up a modest six power-play points as well, though his heavy role at even strength has exposed some flaws in his play this season.

Connor Zary C | CGY
Flames' Connor Zary: Two more points in win
Zary scored a goal on two shots and added a power-play assist in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Blackhawks.
Zary is surging, with at least one point in seven of his last eight games. He has three goals and five assists in that span, with four of the helpers coming on the power play. The 23-year-old is up to eight goals, 20 points (nine on the power play), 70 shots on net and a minus-6 rating through 34 appearances. Investing in Calgary's offense can be risky in fantasy, but Zary's at least playing well right now.

Travis Boyd C | TOR
Wild's Travis Boyd: Back to AHL
Boyd was reassigned to AHL Iowa on Sunday.
Boyd's reassignment would seem to indicate that either Joel Eriksson Ek (lower body) or Yakov Trenin (upper body) will be available for Monday's contest against Chicago. Boyd's appeared in three games with Minnesota this season, averaging 7:48 of ice time while failing to record a point.

Nico Hischier C | NJ
Devils' Nico Hischier: Carries offense against Pens
Hischier scored a goal on three shots on net and added two assists, three blocked shots and a plus-3 rating in Saturday's 3-0 win over Pittsburgh.
It was Hischier's first multi-point performance since Nov. 29. The 25-year-old didn't get on the scoresheet at all through the first five games in December, but since then, he's collected two goals and five points in the last four contests. On the season, Hischier has 17 goals in 36 appearances, putting him on pace to top the career-high 31 tallies he notched in 2022-23.

Jonathan Huberdeau C | CGY
Flames' Jonathan Huberdeau: Big night on special teams
Huberdeau scored a shorthanded goal and added a power-play assist in Saturday's 6-4 win over Chicago.
The veteran winger opened the scoring midway through the first period with an impressive solo rush from his own side of the neutral zone. The shortie was his first of the season, continuing a hot streak that has seen Huberdeau get onto the scoresheet in nine of the last 10 games while piling up six goals and 13 points.
