  • Ryan Strome C | CGY

Ducks' Ryan Strome: Nabs helper Wednesday

Strome logged an assist and went plus-2 in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Islanders.

Strome saw 15:01 of ice time in his first game action since Jan. 26. The 32-year-old appeared to fall out of favor, with the Ducks often opting to dress seven blueliners, though Strome missed some while ill earlier in the week. The 32-year-old forward has disappointed this year with just nine points, 35 shots on net, 16 hits, 27 PIM and a minus-5 rating over 33 appearances. He is in line to fall short of the 40-point mark for the first time since 2018-19, which he split between the Oilers and Rangers.

  • Ducks' Ryan Poehling: Puts away goal in win

Poehling scored a goal on two shots in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Islanders.

Poehling has two goals over his last four games. The 27-year-old has seen some extra ice time lately as the Ducks navigate some injuries, and he'll likely remain in a larger role until Mikael Granlund (upper body) is able to return. Poehling is at seven goals, 24 points, 61 shots on net, 62 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating through 54 appearances in his first year with the Ducks, production in line with what he did over the last two campaigns with the Flyers.

  • Curtis Lazar C | EDM

Oilers' Curtis Lazar: Lands on LTIR

Lazar (undisclosed) was placed on long-term injured reserve Wednesday, per PuckPedia.

Lazar was already ruled out for four weeks, so this move doesn't impact his return timeline. It does free up the cap space the Oilers needed to accommodate their acquisitions of Jason Dickinson and Colton Dach in Wednesday's trade with the Blackhawks. Lazar shouldn't be expected back until early April, and if his recovery stalls out, he may be held out until the playoffs.

  • Ivan Ryabkin C | CAR

Hurricanes' Ivan Ryabkin: Four more points in QMJHL win

Ryabkin scored a goal and added three assists in QMJHL Charlottetown's 7-3 win over Rimouski on Wednesday.

Ryabkin has eight points over two games to start March. He's logged at least 11 points in each of his months since joining Charlottetown, and he's well on his way to doing even better to close out the regular season. The 18-year-old forward has 30 points in 14 appearances in total, and it's clear he's a little too good for this level of hockey. Don't be surprised if he gets another look with AHL Chicago to begin 2026-27.

  • Colton Dach C | EDM

Oilers' Colton Dach: Included in trade to Edmonton

Dach and Jason Dickinson were dealt to the Oilers from the Blackhawks on Wednesday in exchange for Andrew Mangiapane and a 2027 first-round pick, freelance insider Frank Seravalli reports.

Dach's inclusion in the deal is a little curious, but it'll give the Alberta native a fresh start in his home province. The 23-year-old forward figures to be no more than a fourth-line option at best for the Oilers this season, and it wouldn't be a shock to see him get scratched or demoted to AHL Bakersfield, as he is still waivers-exempt.

  • Oilers' Jason Dickinson: Heading to Edmonton in trade

Dickinson and Colton Dach were traded Wednesday to the Oilers from the Blackhawks in exchange for Andrew Mangiapane and a 2027 first-round pick, freelance insider Frank Seravalli reports.

Dickinson is the Oilers' latest option to fill a true third-line role, which means Ryan Nugent-Hopkins should be a full-time winger moving forward. Dickinson has just 13 points in 47 outings this season, but he's added 51 hits and 36 blocked shots. Look for Dickinson to also receive ample time on the penalty kill with the Oilers.

  • Predators' Fedor Svechkov: Called up Wednesday

Svechkov was called up from AHL Milwaukee on Wednesday, Nick Kieser of Lower Broad Hockey reports.

Svechkov is set to rejoin the Predators after the team dealt away Michael McCarron and Cole Smith. Svechkov could challenge for third-line minutes. The 22-year-old was limited to nine points with a minus-8 rating over 49 appearances this season before getting sent down to Milwaukee in late January.

  • Ducks' Mikael Granlund: Designated for IR

Granlund (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, per the NHL media site.

Granlund has already missed four games due to his upper-body issue, so his placement on IR won't impact his availability. In a corresponding move, Frank Vatrano (shoulder) was taken off injured reserve. Prior to getting hurt, Granlund had points in four of his last six outings, racking up a combined three goals and four helpers.

  • Bobby McMann C | SEA

Maple Leafs' Bobby McMann: Won't play Wednesday

McMann will be held out for Wednesday's game against New Jersey due to roster management purposes.

McMann is one of several players who will sit out Wednesday's game for the Maple Leafs ahead of Friday's trade deadline. Reports ahead of the Olympic break suggested that the Oilers were interested in McMann and that Toronto was seeking a first-round pick. However, it's not yet clear whether a trade partner will ultimately materialize in the hours leading up to the deadline. It wouldn't be surprising to see McMann also sit out Thursday's matchup against the Rangers if he remains on the Toronto roster until then.

  • Maple Leafs' Scott Laughton: Scratched for trade-related reasons

Laughton won't play Wednesday in New Jersey for roster-management reasons, per Chris Johnston of The Athletic.

Toronto is poised to be a seller ahead of Friday's trade deadline, and Laughton is among those who could move elsewhere. He has eight goals and 12 points across 43 appearances in 2025-26. If Laughton is still a member of the Maple Leafs on Thursday, he will probably be scratched again rather than play against the Rangers.
