Samuel Helenius C | LA
Kings' Samuel Helenius: Lights lamp Saturday
Helenius scored a goal in Saturday's 5-4 shootout win over the Wild.
Helenius put the Kings ahead 4-3 in the third period. He had just 4:34 of ice time in this contest, though he's been under the 10-minute mark in eight straight games. The 23-year-old is firmly on the fourth line, and his ability to play center is likely the only thing keeping him in the lineup regularly. The goal was his first point in 13 outings this season, to go with three shots on net, 28 hits, five PIM and an even plus-minus rating.

Quinton Byfield C | LA
Kings' Quinton Byfield: Earns two points in shootout win
Byfield scored a goal on four shots, dished a power-play assist, added four PIM and blocked three shots in Saturday's 5-4 shootout win over the Wild.
Byfield collected his second multi-point effort in the last four games. He had gone 17 games without a goal between Nov. 15 and Dec. 23, logging just three assists in that span, but it looks like he's getting his offense turned around. The 23-year-old center is at six goals, 23 points, 87 shots on net, 30 hits, 21 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over 39 appearances this season, mainly in a top-six role.

Blake Coleman C | CGY
Flames' Blake Coleman: Puts away goal Saturday
Coleman scored a goal on two shots, added two PIM and logged four hits in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Predators.
Coleman's tally tied the game at 3-3 in the third period, but the Flames couldn't hang on long enough to get the contest to overtime. The veteran forward has five goals and three assists over his last nine outings. For the season, he's up to 13 goals, 21 points, 96 shots on net, 103 hits, 29 blocked shots, 27 PIM and a plus-14 rating over 41 appearances. That puts him on pace to reach 40 points for just the second time in his career.

Steven Stamkos C | NSH
Predators' Steven Stamkos: Adds two helpers in win
Stamkos produced two assists, two shots on goal, three hits and a plus-3 rating in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Flames.
Stamkos had a hand in both of Erik Haula's first-period tallies. While Stamkos started on the top line alongside Ryan O'Reilly and Filip Forsberg, he played most of the contest with Haula and Michael Bunting on the second line after an in-game switch. Given the line's success Saturday, that combination might stick, though it won't be known for sure until the Predators have their next practice. Stamkos has amassed 13 points across his last 10 appearances and is up to 18 goals, 10 assists, 96 shots on net, 36 hits and a minus-7 rating through 41 outings overall.

Auston Matthews C | TOR
Maple Leafs' Auston Matthews: Now top scorer in franchise history
Matthews scored two goals Saturday in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Islanders.
Matthews scored career goals No. 420 and 421 to become the leading goal scorer in Maple Leafs history, surpassing Hall of Famer Mats Sundin. He did it in 664 games compared to Sundin's 420 goals in 981 games. Matthews has five goals in his past two games, and he hit the 20-goal mark for the 10th straight season to become the fifth American player in NHL history to do that. Matthews also became the fifth active player to hit the 20-goal mark in his first 10 seasons. Who else is on that list? He joined stars Alex Ovechkin (20 from 2005-06 - 2024-25), Patrick Kane (13 from 2007-08 - 2019-20), Jonathan Toews (12 from 2007-08 - 2018-19) and John Tavares (11 from 2009-10 - 2019-20).

Martin Necas C | COL
Avalanche's Martin Necas: Supplies pair of helpers
Necas logged two assists and four hits in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Hurricanes.
This was Necas' first game against the Hurricanes since he was dealt away in last January's Mikko Rantanen deal. He showed a bit of what his old team is missing, as Necas helped out on goals by linemates Gabriel Landeskog and Nathan MacKinnon. Necas has three goals and three assists during a four-game point streak, and he's up to 53 points (19 tallies, 34 helpers) with 92 shots on net, 41 hits, 22 PIM and a plus-40 rating over 40 appearances this season.

Jack Drury C | COL
Avalanche's Jack Drury: Scores against former team
Drury scored a goal and blocked two shots in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Hurricanes.
Drury went from Carolina to Colorado in the first of two Mikko Rantanen trades last season, and this was his first game back in Raleigh since the deal went down. He had a key goal in the third period Saturday, tying the game at 3-3 while snapping his own five-game point drought. The 25-year-old is up to seven goals, 13 points, 44 shots on net, 33 blocked shots and a plus-9 rating through 40 appearances, putting him on pace to challenge the career-best 27 points he had in the 2023-24 regular season with the Hurricanes.

Nathan MacKinnon C | COL
Avalanche's Nathan MacKinnon: Four more points Saturday
MacKinnon scored an empty-net goal on two shots, added three assists and logged two hits in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Hurricanes.
Two of MacKinnon's helpers came on Brock Nelson power-play goals as part of the Avalanche's third-period rally. The 30-year-old MacKinnon has logged back-to-back four-point efforts, and he's earned five goals and eight assists over his last four outings. The superstar center continues to dominate, with 35 goals, 74 points (18 on the power play), 182 shots on net, 34 hits and a plus-51 rating over 40 appearances. At this pace, the 150-point threshold isn't out of reach, though he is shooting a career-high 19.2 percent.

Brock Nelson C | COL
Avalanche's Brock Nelson: Strikes twice on power play
Nelson scored two power-play goals on seven shots in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Hurricanes.
Nelson was at the heart of the Avalanche's comeback, starting the rally 1:09 into the third period before scoring the eventual game-winner at 7:30 of the frame. The 34-year-old center has multiple points in three straight contests and has earned five goals and five assists through his last six outings. For the season, he's up to 18 goals, 32 points, 83 shots on net, 32 blocked shots, 21 hits and a plus-13 rating over 40 appearances.

Macklin Celebrini C | SJ
Sharks' Macklin Celebrini: Racking up accolades
Celebrini picked up an assist in a 7-3 loss to Tampa Bay on Saturday.
Celebrini extended his point streak to 10 games (seven goals, 13 assists). Celebrini is third in NHL scoring with 63 points (22 goals, 41 assists) through 41 games, and on New Year's Day, he was named the NHL's third star for December. His 62 points in 40 games is third best among teenagers in the NHL behind Wayne Gretzky (21 goals, 49 assists; 70 points) in 1980-81 with Edmonton and Sidney Crosby (21 goals, 45 assists; 66 points in 2006-07 with Pittsburgh.
