  • Peyton Krebs C | BUF

Sabres' Peyton Krebs: Expected to play Thursday

Krebs (illness) is feeling better Thursday and is expected to suit up against the Flyers, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports.

Krebs missed Wednesday's practice session due to an illness, but he should be able to suit up a day later. Over seven appearances in December, he's recorded two assists, 18 hits, six PIM and three blocked shots while averaging 14:42 of ice time.

  • Bo Horvat C | NYI

Islanders' Bo Horvat: Won't play Friday

Horvat (lower body) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Canucks, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.

Although Horvat will miss a third consecutive game due to his lower-body injury Friday, head coach Patrick Roy hasn't yet ruled the 30-year-old out for Saturday's matchup in Buffalo. Even if Horvat is unable to play against the Sabres, it doesn't appear as though the Islanders expect him to miss much more time.

  • Blue Jackets' Brendan Gaunce: Won't play Thursday

Gaunce won't play in Thursday's game against the Wild due to personal reasons, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports.

Gaunce and his wife are expecting the birth of their child soon, so he'll be out of the lineup for at least one game. Zach Aston-Reese will suit up for the Blue Jackets against Minnesota, while Gaunce's next opportunity to play will be Saturday in Anaheim.

  • Seth Jarvis C | CAR

Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Tallies in Wednesday's win

Jarvis scored a goal on four shots and added two hits in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Predators.

Jarvis has been limited to three goals over his last five games, though that's still decent production. The 23-year-old forward is up to 19 goals, 27 points, 106 shots on net, 42 hits and a plus-1 rating across 33 appearances. With Sebastian Aho getting a three-point effort Wednesday, the engine of the Hurricanes' offense should be fired up again, and Jarvis should be in a good position as Aho's linemate to get back to dominant performances.

  • Panthers' Evan Rodrigues: Dealing with lower-body injury

Rodrigues sustained a lower-body injury in the third period of Wednesday's game versus the Kings, Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports.

Rodrigues had to leave the game, and no further update beyond the nature of his injury was provided. Head coach Paul Maurice didn't believe the injury would be significant, but Rodrigues will be evaluated Thursday. His status for Friday versus the Hurricanes is up in the air.

  • Predators' Jonathan Marchessault: Exits Wednesday's contest

Marchessault sustained a lower-body injury in Wednesday's game versus the Hurricanes.

Marchessault was ruled out for the remainder of the game prior to the third period. The exact nature and severity of his injury are unknown at this time. He'll be considered day-to-day leading up to Saturday's game versus the Maple Leafs, pending further information from the team.

  • Sharks' Ty Dellandrea: Questionable for Thursday's matchup

Dellandrea is considered questionable for Thursday's game against the Stars due to an upper-body injury, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports.

Dellandrea sustained an upper-body injury while blocking a shot during Tuesday's game against Calgary, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be available against Dallas. If the 25-year-old is unable to suit up against his former team, Adam Gaudette will presumably enter the lineup after moving past his lower-body issue. Dellandrea has yet to miss a game this year, and he's recorded two goals, eight assists, 97 hits, 31 blocked shots and 12 PIM while averaging 14:52 of ice time over his first 34 appearances of the season.

  • Sharks' Adam Gaudette: Healthy ahead of Thursday's matchup

Gaudette (lower body) told reporters he was fully fit ahead of the Sharks' clash with Dallas on Thursday, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports.

Even with his injury concern behind him, Gaudette is far from a lock to suit up versus the Stars, and could still find himself serving as a healthy scratch. The veteran forward is stuck in a rut, going six games without finding the back of the net while generating six shots and two assists.

  • Jack Eichel C | LV

Golden Knights' Jack Eichel: Won't play Wednesday

Eichel (illness) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Devils, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.

Eichel left Tuesday's practice early due to his illness, and he'll be unavailable for at least one game. He's considered day-to-day, and his next opportunity to suit up will be Saturday in Calgary. Reilly Smith and Alexander Holtz are candidates to enter the lineup in Eichel's absence.

  • Sharks' Michael Misa: Will represent Team Canada

Misa (lower body) has been loaned to Team Canada for the upcoming World Junior Championship, the Sharks announced Wednesday.

Misa has been on long-term injured reserve and was sent to AHL San Jose on Dec. 3 for a conditioning stint, but his assignment to Team Canada seems to suggest that he's recovered from his injury. He has an assist in two outings in the AHL as well as a goal and three points in seven appearances with the Sharks this season. Suiting up for Canada at the tournament is an opportunity for him to play an integral role in high-stakes situations, which should be beneficial to his development. He'll probably resume playing for the Sharks after the tournament, which runs through Jan. 5.
