Auston Matthews C | TOR
Maple Leafs' Auston Matthews: Rips sixth goal of season in win
Matthews scored a goal in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Flyers.
Matthews took a feed from Morgan Rielly and ripped a shot almost instantly into the top of the net past Dan Vladar. Matthews is off to a relatively slow start this season with six goals and three assists in 12 games. However, his goal-scoring talent makes him a serious threat for a hot streak at any moment.

There is plenty of room for him to heat up offensively.

Jonathan Marchessault C | NSH
Predators' Jonathan Marchessault: Nets winner over Calgary
Marchessault scored a goal in Saturday's 4-2 win over Calgary.
His power-play goal stood as the winner. Marchessault took a pass from Michael Bunting on a 3-on-2 rush and beat Dustin Wolf on the forehand from in front of the net. After putting up four points in his first four games, Marchessault has just two goals on 15 shots in his last six outings. He recorded 21 goals, 35 assists and 206 shots on net in 78 games during the 2024-25 regular season, but his minus-29 rating hung like an anchor for some managers. This season, Marchessault is already minus-8 in 10 games.

The assist came when Mittelstadt lifted the puck out of the defensive zone, allowing Viktor Arvidsson to skate into it on a partial breakaway. The points were Mittelstadt's first in four games, although he now has eight (four goals, four assists) in 13 appearances this season. He has two high 50-point regular seasons under his belt, with 59 in 2022-23 and 57 in 2023-24, but he has struggled to make a significant offensive impact since then.
