  • Sabres' Konsta Helenius: Dominant in AHL win

Helenius scored twice on six shots and added two assists in AHL Rochester's 4-0 win over Laval on Friday.

Prior to Friday, Helenius was off to a slow start. He now has five points and 19 shots over six games with the Americans. The 19-year-old is playing above his age group, but it would still look good if he can improve on the 14-goal, 35-point performance he had for Rochester over 65 regular-season games in 2024-25.

  • Bruins' Patrick Brown: Two goals in AHL victory

Brown scored twice on seven shots in AHL Providence's 5-3 win over Springfield on Friday.

Brown has four goals and seven points over five AHL games this year. The 33-year-old has seen parts of the last two seasons in the NHL, earning two assists over a total of 26 games. If he gets a call-up, it will be to fill in as a no-nonsense fourth-liner who can add a physical edge.

  • Matthew Gard C | PHI

Flyers' Matthew Gard: Collects two points in Red Deer win

Gard scored a goal and added an assist in WHL Red Deer's 5-2 win over Regina on Friday.

Gard has picked up the pace lately, earning three goals and three assists over his last five games. He's at a total of eight points in nine outings in 2025-26, though that's still an improvement on last season, when he posted 0.55 points per game. The 18-year-old, a second-round pick of the Flyers, is still working on growing his offense while maintaining a steady defensive presence at center.

  • Nazem Kadri C | COL

Flames' Nazem Kadri: Lights lamp on power play

Kadri scored a power-play goal on three shots and went minus-2 in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Jets.

The goal was Kadri's first of the campaign. He's earned four of his five points on the power play. Given the state of the Flames' offense, Kadri has done fairly well for himself so far. He's added 23 shots on net, five hits, three blocked shots, eight PIM and a minus-9 rating across nine appearances.

  • Flames' Mikael Backlund: Notches two points in loss

Backlund scored a goal on four shots, added an assist and went plus-2 in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Jets.

Backlund earned his first multi-point effort of the season, though this was just the fourth time in nine games the Flames have scored multiple goals. The 36-year-old center remains in a middle-six role, but he may struggle to put up points on a low-scoring team. He's at three points, 17 shots on net, seven hits and a minus-3 rating across nine appearances this year.

  • Flames' Blake Coleman: Puts up two points

Coleman scored a goal on three shots, added an assist, logged two hits and went plus-2 in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Jets.

Coleman and Mikael Backlund set up each other's goals in this contest, but it wasn't enough to get the Flames out of their skid. Through nine contests, Coleman has three goals, one assist, 21 shots, 21 hits, seven blocked shots and a minus-1 rating. His steady two-way play is a positive, but there's not a lot of offense to go around in Calgary, so the 33-year-old is likely best suited for fantasy managers in deeper formats.

  • Jets' Mark Scheifele: Two power-play helpers in win

Scheifele recorded two power-play assists and four shots on goal in Friday's 5-3 win over the Flames.

Scheifele's season-opening point streak ended in Thursday's 3-0 loss to the Kraken. The center bounced right back with his fourth multi-point effort of the year in Friday's win, helping out on second-period tallies by Gabriel Vilardi and Alex Iafallo. On the year, Scheifele has seven goals, five helpers, four power-play points, 23 shots on net and a plus-3 rating over eight appearances. He's off to a great start as he aims for the fourth 80-point campaign of his career after last year's career-best 87 points in 82 regular-season outings.

  • Jets' Vladislav Namestnikov: Deposits empty-netter

Namestnikov scored an empty-net goal on three shots in Friday's 5-3 win over the Flames.

Namestnikov cut off the Flames' comeback effort with a goal at 19:52 of the third period. The 32-year-old has filled a middle-six role this season, which has seen him start a little slow on offense. He has three goals, one helper, nine shots on net, nine hits, five blocked shots and a plus-1 rating through eight appearances. Namestnikov is on pace to finish between 35 and 40 points, which is where he's landed in each of the last two regular seasons as one of Winnipeg's steadier depth scorers.

  • Jets' Jonathan Toews: Scores go-ahead goal

Toews scored a goal in Friday's 5-3 win over the Flames.

Toews has scored both of his goals this season against the Flames. His tally Friday put the Jets ahead 2-1 in the second period. The 37-year-old has played pretty well for someone who was out of the league for two full years, earning five points (three on the power play), eight shots on net, seven blocked shots, eight PIM and a minus-4 rating through eight appearances. There are still some gaps in his play, which can be expected given his age and time away, but he's a decent source of offense.

  • Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: Breaks through with two points

Vilardi scored a goal on two shots and added an assist in Friday's 5-3 win over the Flames.

Both of Vilardi's points came on the power play in the second period. The 26-year-old forward has retained his spots on the top line and first power-play unit this season, but he's gotten off to an uneven start. He's at one goal, five assists, 16 shots on net and an even plus-minus rating through eight appearances. Getting the first goal should help, and Vilardi is in a position to succeed, so his fantasy managers should stay patient as he looks to rediscover his 27-goal, 61-point form from 71 regular-season games in 2024-25.
