  • Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Credited with goal

Pageau scored a goal in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Capitals.

Pageau got the Islanders on the board at 11:36 of the third period, though the goal was only credited to him after a Capitals player put it in their net. The 32-year-old Pageau has two goals and three assists over his last six contests to close out the season on a positive note. He's up to 14 goals and 42 points over 78 appearances, putting him one point shy of his career high from 2015-16. The center has added 119 shots on net, 140 hits, 57 blocked shots and a plus-6 rating in 2024-25.

  • Nic Dowd C | LV

Capitals' Nic Dowd: Garners helper in win

Dowd logged an assist, two shots on goal and two blocked shots in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Islanders.

Dowd has earned four points over the last 10 games. The 34-year-old was able to chip in an assist on Dylan Strome's empty-netter to seal this win, which also gave Strome a hat trick. Dowd has done well in a bottom-six role this season, scoring 14 goals and 27 points, both of which are career highs. He's added 86 shots on net, 81 blocked shots, 127 hits, 56 PIM and a plus-8 rating over 81 appearances.

  • Dylan Strome C | WAS

Capitals' Dylan Strome: Hat trick to cross 80-point mark

Strome scored all three goals in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Islanders.

Strome tallied in each period, scoring on the power play in the first, at even strength in the second and into an empty net in the third. With the hat trick, Strome set a career high in goals (29) while also crossing the 80-point mark for the first time. He's at 81 points, 148 shots on net, 54 blocked shots, 34 PIM and a plus-2 rating through 81 appearances this season. He's earned six goals and seven assists over his last nine outings.

  • Maple Leafs' Steven Lorentz: Rare goal delivers win

Lorentz scored a goal in a 4-0 win over the Sabres on Tuesday.

His goal stood as the winner. Lorentz beat Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen with a one-timer from the left hash marks at 14:15 of the second period. It was Lorentz's eighth goal of the season (79 games) and his first in seven games. At the same time, he's been absolutely clutch this season -- five of his eight goals have been game-winners.

  • Blues' Robert Thomas: Sustains lower-body injury

Thomas (lower body) won't finish Tuesday's game versus Utah.

Thomas was hurt at some point in the second or third period. The Blues were ahead 5-1 when he was ruled out, so there may be a bit of caution involved, since they're playing in their regular-season finale. An update on Thomas' status should be available prior to the start of the postseason, assuming the Blues take care of business and clinch their spot Tuesday. Thomas had two assists in the contest, giving him 81 points in 70 outings in the regular season, his second-best point total in his seven-year career.

  • Kings' Anze Kopitar: Not playing Tuesday

Kopitar will not be in the lineup versus the Kraken on Tuesday, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports.

This looks like rest for a veteran now that the Kings have secured the No. 2 spot in the Pacific Division. Kopitar has racked up 67 points over 80 contests this season, including three goals and four assists over seven games in April. He could return for Thursday's regular-season finale versus the Flames.

  • Maple Leafs' Auston Matthews: Sixth fastest to 400 NHL goals

Matthews scored a goal and added an assist in a 4-0 win over Buffalo on Tuesday.

It was Matthews' 400th career goal in his 628th game. He's the second Leafs player to hit that mark with the franchise; Mats Sundin was the first. He's also the sixth-fastest player in NHL history to reach 400 goals. Who's ahead of him? Wayne Gretzky (436), Mike Bossy (506), Mario Lemieux (508), Brett Hull (520) and Jari Kurri (608). Well done, @AM34.

  • Kings' Quinton Byfield: Not playing Tuesday

Byfield (upper body) won't be in the lineup versus the Kraken on Tuesday, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports.

Byfield was injured on a sequence of cross-checks by Edmonton's Darnell Nurse in Monday's game. With the Kings locked into the No. 2 seed in the Pacific Division, they won't need to push anything with Byfield over the last two regular-season games. The rest of the Kings' lineup, including who will replace Byfield, will be revealed during warmups.

  • Panthers' Anton Lundell: Sitting again Tuesday

Lundell (rest) won't be in the lineup against Tampa Bay on Tuesday, Rob Darragh of the Panthers' official site reports.

Lundell will miss his second straight game for rest before the beginning of the playoffs. He will conclude the 2024-25 regular season with 17 goals, 45 points, 158 shots on net and 110 hits across 79 appearances this season. Lundell should be ready for Game 1 of the postseason.

  • Panthers' Eetu Luostarinen: Clear to play

Luostarinen (rest) will return to the lineup Tuesday versus the Lightning, Rob Darragh of the Panthers official site reports.

Luostarinen will slot back in on the third line after taking Monday's game off. The 26-year-old winger should also be a candidate for some power-play time in this contest, which is the Panthers' regular-season finale.
