  • Clayton Keller RW | UTA

Hockey Club's Clayton Keller: Lights lamp twice in loss

Keller scored two goals, including one on the power play, in Saturday's 7-3 loss to the Hurricanes.

The 26-year-old erased a modest five-game goal drought by converting a breakaway midway through the second period. Keller then blasted home a one-timer late in the third that Pyotr Kochetkov couldn't stop despite partially saving with his glove. Keller is up to 20 goals this season, the fourth straight campaign in which he's reached that mark. He's piled up 59 points in 54 appearances heading into the break for the 4 Nations Face-Off.

  • Blues' Alexandre Texier: Unavailable vs. Chicago

Texier (illness) won't play Saturday against Chicago, per Lou Korac of NHL.com.

Texier also missed St. Louis' 3-2 loss to Florida on Thursday. He has four goals and nine points in 27 outings in 2024-25. The Blues return to action versus Winnipeg on Feb. 22 after the 4 Nations Face-Off, and Texier could be an option to play.

  • Canucks' Linus Karlsson: Summoned from minors

Karlsson was called up by Vancouver on Saturday.

Karlsson has 12 goals and 18 points in 17 outings with AHL Abbotsford in 2024-25. He also has a goal in nine appearances with Vancouver this season. Victor Mancini was sent to the minors in a corresponding move.

  • Penguins' Sidney Crosby: Won't play Saturday

Crosby (upper body) won't play against Philadelphia on Saturday, according to Adam Kimelman of NHL.com.

Crosby will miss his second straight game. His availability for the 4 Nations Face-Off is unclear, but the 37-year-old forward skated ahead of Saturday's game and feels much better. Crosby has compiled 17 goals, 58 points, 51 hits and 156 shots on net through 55 appearances this season. Due to Crosby's absence, Rickard Rakell will probably center the top line again in Saturday's matchup.

  • Predators' Mark Jankowski: Moves to IR

Jankowski (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, according to Nick Kieser of 102.5 ESPN Nashville.

Nashville recalled Ozzy Wiesblatt from AHL Milwaukee in a corresponding move. Jankowski is week-to-week and will miss his ninth straight game versus Buffalo on Saturday. He has produced three goals, eight points, 38 shots on net, 17 blocked shots and 23 hits across 37 appearances this season.

  • Ozzy Wiesblatt RW | NSH

Predators' Ozzy Wiesblatt: Up from AHL

Wiesblatt was recalled from AHL Milwaukee on Saturday, per Nick Kieser of 102.5 ESPN Nashville.

Wiesblatt has 11 goals, 23 points and 56 PIM over 41 minor-league outings in 2024-25. He's appeared in two games with Nashville, recording no points, no shots, four hits and one block. If Luke Evangelista (lower body) and Zachary L'Heureux (upper body) are unavailable for Saturday's clash against Buffalo, Wiesblatt will probably draw into the lineup.

  • Penguins' Vasily Ponomarev: Up from minors

Ponomarev was summoned from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Saturday.

Ponomarev has 11 goals and 27 points in 31 AHL outings this season. He's also appeared in three games with Pittsburgh, recording no points, four shots, one hit and one block. Ponomarev might draw into the lineup Saturday due to the absence of Bryan Rust (lower body), who moved to injured reserve in a corresponding move.

  • Islanders' Mathew Barzal: Expected to miss about six weeks

Barzal had a minor procedure done on his kneecap Thursday and could be out for about six weeks, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports Saturday.

Barzal has six goals and 20 points in 30 appearances during the 2024-25 campaign. According to the Islanders, the 27-year-old forward is on injured reserve and out indefinitely. Anthony Duclair has been playing on the top line and the first power-play unit due to Barzal's absence.

  • Tyson Kozak C | BUF

Sabres' Tyson Kozak: Removed from IR

Kozak (illness) was activated from injured reserve Saturday, per the NHL media site.

Kozak will presumably return from a two-game absence in Saturday's matchup against Nashville. He has generated one goal, six shots on net, 16 blocked shots and 11 hits in 11 NHL appearances this season. Kozak could replace Beck Malenstyn (back) in Saturday's lineup.

  • Golden Knights' Raphael Lavoie: Summoned from AHL

Lavoie was recalled from AHL Henderson on Saturday, per SinBin Vegas.

Vegas returned Alexander Holtz to the minors in a corresponding move. Lavoie hasn't earned a point in three NHL outings this season while posting four shots on goal and seven hits. He will skate on the second line in Saturday's game against Boston.
