  • Ryan Graves D | PIT

Penguins' Ryan Graves: Placed on injured reserve

Graves (lower body) was put on injured reserve Thursday.

The Penguins' announcement didn't specify the nature of Graves' injury, but he's dealing with a lower-body issue, according to Michelle Crechiolo of the Penguins' official site. Graves has a goal, eight PIM, 15 hits and 35 blocks in 19 outings in 2025-26. Erik Karlsson (lower body) was activated off injured reserve in a corresponding move. Graves played in Wednesday's 4-1 win over Calgary, so putting him on IR means that he isn't eligible to play Thursday in Edmonton or Sunday in Vancouver.

  • Sabres' Michael Kesselring: Suiting up Thursday

Kesselring (ankle) is available for Thursday's game in Montreal, according to Heather Engel of NHL.com.

Kesselring has played in just one of Buffalo's last 10 games, but he'll return to the lineup after being deemed a game-time call earlier Thursday. The right-shot blueliner is slated to skate on the third pairing beside Jacob Bryson in Montreal. Zach Metsa will be a healthy scratch as a result of Kesselring suiting up.

  • Bruins' Henri Jokiharju: Available, but will be scratched

Jokiharju (personal) has returned to the Bruins after previously being designated as a non-roster player. He's expected to be a healthy scratch Thursday versus Vegas.

Jokiharju has nine assists in 32 outings in 2025-26. When he eventually draws back into the lineup, it will probably be as a member of the third pairing.

  • Maple Leafs' Brandon Carlo: Could miss more time

Carlo (undisclosed) could miss some time as the Maple Leafs fear that he could have tweaked something, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reports.

Carlo may have been hurt Wednesday when the Leafs played Detroit. The defenseman returned to action Jan. 6 after missing 23 games with an ankle injury. Carlo had two assists in nine games since his return, averaging 19:14 of ice time. Consider him day-to-day at this time.

  • Flyers' Jamie Drysdale: Records two power-play assists

Drysdale notched two power-play assists, two shots on goal and a minus-2 rating in Wednesday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Mammoth.

Drysdale had gone seven games without a point, including four since he returned from an upper-body injury. The 23-year-old defenseman has reclaimed a top-four role and a spot on the top power-play unit after his three-game absence. For the season, he has 20 points in 46 outings, matching his output from 70 appearances a year ago. Drysdale has added 55 shots on net, 48 blocked shots, 24 PIM and a minus-7 rating this season.

  • Cam York D | PHI

Flyers' Cam York: Tallies in overtime loss

York scored a goal and blocked two shots in Wednesday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Mammoth.

York struck early, tallying the opening goal just 30 seconds into the game. The 25-year-old defenseman has earned two goals and three assists over 10 outings in January, and he continues to see top-four minutes with power-play time. He's up to four goals, 20 points, 56 shots on net, 85 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating through 42 appearances. He's already surpassed his 17-point output from 66 games in 2024-25, and he could take a run at his career-high 30 points from 2023-24 if he stays healthy the rest of the way.

  • Jets' Elias Salomonsson: Expected back versus Cats

Salomonsson (illness) is set to rejoin the lineup against Florida on Thursday.

Salomonsson will be back in action after missing two games due to his illness. In his six appearances this year, the 21-year-old blueliner has yet to register a point while recording six hits, six shots and a minus-5 rating. Once the Jets get healthy on the blue line, including Neal Pionk (lower body) and Colin Miller (knee), Salomonsson could be headed back to the minors.

  • Red Wings' Simon Edvinsson: Nets tying goal

Edvinsson scored a goal on three shots and blocked two shots in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime win over the Maple Leafs.

Edvinsson ended a six-game point drought with his goal late in the first period, tying the contest at 1-1. The 22-year-old defenseman has remained firmly in a top-four role even with his drop in offense during January. For the season, he's at six goals, 17 points, 57 shots on net, 63 hits, 104 blocked shots, 54 PIM and a plus-6 rating over 48 appearances. His all-around production makes him a decent option in deeper fantasy formats.

  • Sabres' Michael Kesselring: Game-time call Thursday

Kesselring (ankle) will be a game-time decision in Montreal on Thursday, Heather Engel of NHL.com reports.

Kesselring has missed the last two games after tweaking his ankle against the Wild on Jan. 17. The 26-year-old defenseman has yet to acquire a point in 17 games this season, though he was an offensive threat in 2024-25 with seven goals and 22 assists in 82 regular-season games. Should Kesselring not be available, Zach Metsa will remain in the lineup.

  • Golden Knights' Rasmus Andersson: Unavailable Thursday

Andersson (not injury related) has been ruled out of Thursday's clash in Boston, Steve Conroy of the Boston Herald reports.

Andersson has been dealing with visa issues since he was dealt to Vegas on Sunday. The issues have yet to be resolved and head coach Bruce Cassidy said Thursday that his status for Friday's game in Toronto is still up in the air. Andersson had 10 goals and 20 assists in 48 games with the Flames before the trade.
