Travis Sanheim D | PHI
Flyers' Travis Sanheim: Tallies again Tuesday
Sanheim scored a goal on two shots and went plus-3 in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Ducks.
Sanheim is off to a strong start to January, scoring in consecutive games for the first time this season. The defenseman is up to five goals, 14 assists, 54 shots on net, 78 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating across 41 appearances on the campaign. Sanheim should do better than his eight-goal, 30-point effort from 2024-25 and could challenge for the second 40-point season of his career.

Dysin Mayo D | CLB
Blue Jackets' Dysin Mayo: Lands on waivers
Mayo was designated for waivers by the Blue Jackets on Wednesday.
Mayo has played on only two occasions over his 21 games on the NHL roster, recording one assist, four shots and one block while averaging a mere 8:34 of ice time. Assuming the blueliner clears waivers, he will likely spend the bulk of the rest of the year in the minors, especially after the Blue Jackets added Egor Zamula as an unrestricted free agent.
-
Terrell Goldsmith D | UTA
Mammoth's Terrell Goldsmith: Playing in minors
Goldsmith (undisclosed) has appeared in three games for AHL Tucson, generating one shot and seven PIM.
Goldsmith started the 2025-26 campaign on non-roster injured reserve but appears to be back to 100 percent. Considering this is the 20-year-old blueliner's first professional season, he probably shouldn't be expected to make the jump to the NHL ranks any time soon.

Cam York D | PHI
Flyers' Cam York: Two points including GWG
York scored the game-winning goal and added a power-play assist in Tuesday's 5-2 victory over the Ducks. He added five shots on net, five blocked shots and a plus-3 rating to his ledger.
The 25-year-old blueliner gave the Flyers a 3-1 lead in the second period by flipping a shot through traffic. York can run hot and cold, but he's locked in right now, producing two goals, four assists, 24 shots on net, 17 blocked shots and a plus-10 rating over the last nine games.

Jackson LaCombe D | ANA
Ducks' Jackson LaCombe: Provides spark on power play
LaCombe picked up two power-play assists in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Flyers.
The Ducks couldn't get anything going at even strength, but LaCombe had a hand in power-play tallies by Cutter Gauthier in the first period and Alex Killorn in the third. It was the LaCombe's first multi-point performance since Nov. 26. He has six goals, 26 points, 96 shots on net, 70 blocked shots, 38 hits and a minus-8 rating in 43 contests this season.

Zachary Metsa D | BUF
Sabres' Zach Metsa: Pots first career NHL goal
Metsa scored the game-winning goal in Tuesday's 5-3 victory over the Canucks.
The 27-year-old rookie pounced on a loose puck and gave the Sabres a 4-0 lead early in the third period, a goal that wound up being the game-winner after the Canucks staged a late rally. It was Metsa's first career NHL point in his 12th game, and he should continue to fill a bottom-pairing role while Conor Timmins (leg) and Michael Kesselring (lower body) remain on the shelf.
-
Bowen Byram D | BUF
Sabres' Bowen Byram: Two helpers against Canucks
Byram notched two assists in Tuesday's 5-3 win over Vancouver.
The blueliner stayed hot, helping to set up tallies by Tage Thompson in the first period and Alex Tuch in the second. Byram has erupted for three goals and nine points over the last seven games. He has added 11 shots on net, nine blocked shots, five hits and a plus-10 rating over that span for the surging Sabres.

Harrison Brunicke D | PIT
Penguins' Harrison Brunicke: Sent down to juniors
Brunicke was reassigned to WHL Kamloops on Wednesday.
After a strong start to the NHL season, Brunicke seemed to flounder a bit, including going a combined minus-6 in his last three games with the Penguins. A stint with Team Canada at the World Junior Championship saw the 19-year-old blueliner record two helpers in seven outings. Now back from international duty, the team opted to return him to juniors for the rest of the year rather than having him continue to sit around as a healthy scratch.
-
Tony DeAngelo D | NYI
Islanders' Tony DeAngelo: Three-point performance Tuesday
DeAngelo had one goal and two assists in Tuesday's 9-0 win over the Devils.
DeAngelo had his most productive single-game performance of the season. He has one goal and three helpers in his last two outings after going nine straight outings without a point. He has two goals, 17 points, 72 shots on net and 36 blocked shots across 43 appearances this season.

Shayne Gostisbehere D | CAR
Hurricanes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Finds twine on power play
Gostisbehere scored a power-play goal, placed four shots on net and recorded three blocks in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Stars.
Gostisbehere found the back of the net with a man advantage just under 14 minutes into the opening period. With the twine finder, he is up to five goals, 30 points, 55 shots on net and 35 blocks over 31 games this season. Nearly a point-per-game player this season, Gostisbehere checks many boxes in fantasy and should continue to see work in Carolina's top four.
