  • Red Wings' Simon Edvinsson: Snags helper in return

Edvinsson notched an assist in Friday's 6-3 loss to the Lightning.

Edvinsson missed the previous three games due to an illness, but he was able to log 19:49 of ice time in his return. That's not quite his usual workload, but it's on the first half of a back-to-back, so the Red Wings may be playing it safe as he regains his strength. The helper snapped a five-game point drought for the defenseman. He's at seven points, 26 shots on net, 26 hits, 48 blocked shots, 40 PIM and a minus-2 rating through 22 appearances this season.

  • Hurricanes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Provides pair of assists

Gostisbehere notched two assists, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Friday's 5-1 win over the Jets.

Gostisbehere has logged back-to-back multi-point efforts. He has two goals and nine assists over nine contests since he recovered from an abdominal injury. The 32-year-old blueliner is up to three goals, 15 helpers, 29 shots on net, 16 blocked shots and a plus-9 rating through 15 outings overall. Gostisbehere's offense alone is enough for consideration in fantasy, and it's a good sign he's not showing any lingering issues from his previous absence.

  • Hurricanes' Alexander Nikishin: Tacks on late goal

Nikishin scored a goal on five shots and blocked two shots in Friday's 5-1 win over the Jets.

Nikishin snapped a seven-game point drought with a tally in the final minute of the contest. The 24-year-old defenseman was scratched once in that span, and that may happen at times when his play isn't up to the Hurricanes' standards. He's been pressed into a bigger role than initially expected due to the team's numerous injuries on defense early in the season. Nikishin has three goals, nine points, a plus-15 rating, 43 shots on net, 55 hits and 33 blocked shots, which is a great foundation for a blueliner who could be an all-around fantasy force in short order.

  • Lightning's Darren Raddysh: Ten points in last seven games

Raddysh had a goal and two assists in a 6-3 victory over Detroit on Friday.

The goal came on the power play. Raddysh has 10 points (two goals, eight assists) in his past seven games. He has really stepped into the void created by injuries to Victor Hedman (undisclosed) and Ryan McDonagh (undisclosed). Raddysh is a worthy addition while those two are out.

  • Sabres' Mattias Samuelsson: Enters concussion protocol

Samuelsson entered the concussion protocol after getting injured Friday versus the Devils, Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald reports.

If a concussion is confirmed, Samuelsson won't play Saturday versus the Wild. The 25-year-old is still undergoing evaluations, and head coach Lindy Ruff didn't have any update on his availability moving forward. Zach Metsa will probably draw into the lineup if Samuelsson is out.

  • Neal Pionk D | WPG

Jets' Neal Pionk: Remains out Friday

Pionk (lower body) will miss Friday's game against Carolina, per Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press.

Pionk was also unavailable for Wednesday's 4-3 loss to Washington because of the injury. He has a goal, five points, 10 PIM, 42 hits and 36 blocks in 21 appearances in 2025-26. Elias Salomonsson is set to play in his second straight game due to Pionk's absence.

  • Adam Fox D | NYR

Rangers' Adam Fox: Collects three helpers in victory

Fox registered three assists in the Rangers' 6-2 win over Boston on Friday.

Fox extended his scoring streak to five games, giving him nine helpers over that span. Four of those assists have been recorded with the man advantage, including two of his three helpers Friday. Fox recorded at least 29 power-play points in three straight regular seasons from 2021-22 through 2023-24, but that dropped to 18 last year. He might rebound at least partially from that dip in 2025-26 -- Fox now has 25 points (three goals) in 26 outings this year, including eight power-play points.

  • Senators' Thomas Chabot: Remains out Friday

Chabot (upper body) isn't expected to be in the lineup Friday versus St. Louis, per Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia.

Chabot is set to miss his third straight game, and he's now appeared in just one of Ottawa's past seven outings. He has two goals and 10 points in 18 appearances in 2025-26. Chabot's next opportunity to return will come Sunday in Dallas.

  • Jake Walman D | EDM

Oilers' Jake Walman: Ruled out for Saturday

Walman (undisclosed) will not be available Saturday in Seattle, Tony Brar of Oilers TV reports.

Walman will miss his third straight game, though he could return as early as Tuesday versus Minnesota. Walman was without a point in six games before he sat out with his injury. He has three goals and seven assists across 17 games this season.

  • Bruins' Michael Callahan: Sent to minors

Callahan was reassigned to AHL Providence on Friday, according to Mark Divver of the New England Hockey Journal.

Callahan was a healthy scratch in four games since his most recent recall. The defenseman doesn't have a point in three NHL games this season. The Bruins recalled Georgi Merkulov in a corresponding move.
