  • Islanders' Matthew Schaefer: In exclusive company

Schaefer scored his 21st goal of the season in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Senators.

The phenom opened the scoring early in the second period as he launched a rocket into the top corner past James Reimer from the top of the faceoff circle. The goal was Schaefer's 21st of the season as he closes in on Brian Leetch's all-time record of 23 for a rookie defenseman, while the point was his 50th of the season -- making him just the second 18-year-old blueliner in NHL history to hit that plateau after Phil Housley in 1982-83. Both Leetch and Housley are in the Hall of Fame.

  • Maple Leafs' Morgan Rielly: Set to play Friday

Rielly (illness) is available for Friday's game against the Hurricanes, Dave McCarthy of NHL.com reports.

Rielly was unavailable for team activities Thursday due to his illness, but he's been cleared to suit up for the Maple Leafs' game a day later. Across 12 appearances since the Olympic break, he's recorded two goals, 18 blocked shots, 13 PIM and eight hits while averaging 20:04 of ice time.

  • Blue Jackets' Damon Severson: Adds insurance goal

Severson scored a goal on four shots and went plus-2 in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Rangers.

Severson has two goals and five assists over 10 outings in March. The 31-year-old defenseman continues to see top-four minutes, and he'll have some fantasy value in deeper formats in that role. He's collected six goals, 28 points, 86 shots on net, 85 blocked shots, 45 PIM, 39 hits and a plus-13 rating over 67 appearances. He last reached the 30-point mark in 2022-23 with the Devils, but he's on pace to get there this year.

  • Red Wings' Axel Sandin-Pellikka: On outside looking in

Sandin-Pellikka was scratched for the sixth straight game in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Canadiens.

Sandin-Pellikka has been the one to lose playing time since the Red Wings traded for Justin Faulk at the deadline. The 21-year-old Sandin-Pellikka was papered to AHL Grand Rapids on March 6, so he is eligible to play for the farm team in the playoffs, though the Red Wings may keep him around for depth during their run. With Travis Hamonic also on the roster, Sandin-Pellikka is not guaranteed to check into the lineup if Detroit's injury woes start to impact the defense.

  • Flyers' Rasmus Ristolainen: Deals pair of helpers

Ristolainen logged two assists and went plus-3 in Thursday's 4-3 shootout win over the Kings.

Ristolainen had gone 12 games without a point prior to Thursday. His name floated in trade rumors prior to the deadline, which likely wasn't easy for him to play through. Ristolainen is at eight points, 46 shots on net, 49 blocked shots, 30 hits, 12 PIM and an even plus-minus rating across 31 outings this season. He's battled a number of injuries in recent years, which is a major factor in why he's reached the 20-point mark just once in five campaigns as a Flyer.

  • Flyers' Travis Sanheim: Deposits goal Thursday

Sanheim scored a goal and went plus-3 in Thursday's 4-3 shootout win over the Kings.

Sanheim has a goal and three helpers over his last five outings, and he's also gone plus-6 in that span. The 29-year-old still saw 26:54 of ice time despite the Flyers dressing seven defensemen in this game. Sanheim is up to seven goals, 30 points, 75 shots on net, 127 blocked shots, 41 hits and a plus-6 rating over 68 outings this season. He has now reached the 30-point mark in four of the last five campaigns but likely won't come near his 44-point effort from his career year in 2023-24.

  • John Marino D | UTA

Mammoth's John Marino: Puts up assist Thursday

Marino notched an assist, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 4-0 win over the Golden Knights.

This assist ended a five-game point drought for Marino. The 28-year-old blueliner has seen his role shrink since the Mammoth acquired MacKenzie Weegar from the Flames prior to the trade deadline. Marino still sees top-four minutes in a shutdown capacity. The veteran blueliner has a career-high 31 points with 49 shots on net, 62 blocked shots and a plus-93 rating through 69 appearances.

  • Erik Cernak D | TB

Lightning's Erik Cernak: Offers pair of helpers

Cernak notched two assists in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Canucks.

Cernak snapped a nine-game point drought with the rare multi-point effort, his first such performance this season. The 28-year-old blueliner is at nine points, 37 shots on net, 84 hits, 79 blocked shots, 52 PIM and a plus-2 rating over 46 outings. Cernak continues to fill a bottom-four role as a physical shutdown defenseman.

  • Lightning's Darren Raddysh: Goal, assist in win

Raddysh scored a goal on seven shots, added an assist and went plus-2 in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Canucks.

Raddysh ended a four-game point drought, and the goal was his first since Feb. 3 versus the Sabres. The 30-year-old defenseman continues to be one of the biggest bright spots on the blue line in the NHL this season. He's up to 18 goals, 60 points, 167 shots on net, 61 hits, 58 blocked shots and a plus-23 rating through 60 appearances. Raddysh has earned 23 of his points with the man advantage, which has played a large role in his career year.

  • Sabres' Logan Stanley: Posts pair of assists

Stanley earned two assists, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 5-0 win over the Sharks.

These were Stanley's first two points in a Buffalo sweater. The 27-year-old defenseman has settled onto the Sabres' third pairing, a downgrade in role compared to the heavy minutes he was logging with the Jets prior to his deadline trade. Stanley is now at 23 points, 78 shots on net, 100 hits, 74 blocked shots, 99 PIM and a minus-1 rating over 64 appearances this season, which has been the best of his career.
