Jan Rutta D | SJ
Sharks' Jan Rutta: Won't play against Vancouver
Rutta (lower body) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Canucks, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Rutta recently missed over two months due to a lower-body injury, but he had been back in action over the last two games, recording a goal, four blocked shots, three hits and a plus-3 rating while averaging 20:21 of ice time. However, he'll sit out in the second half of a back-to-back set Monday. The 34-year-old's final chance to suit up during the regular season will be at home against the Oilers on Wednesday.

Jack Thompson D | VAN
Sharks' Jack Thompson: Ruled out Monday
Thompson (upper body) will be sidelined against Vancouver on Monday, Max Miller of NHL.com reports.
Thompson is currently stuck in a five-game goal drought, during which he has managed just two helpers, three shots and 15 blocks while averaging 16:40 of ice time. With the Sharks' season ending against Edmonton on Wednesday, there is little reason to rush the 23-year-old defenseman back into the lineup.

Nicolas Hague D | NSH
Golden Knights' Nicolas Hague: Available for Tuesday's game
Head coach Bruce Cassidy said Monday that Hague (illness) is feeling better and should be available for Tuesday's game in Calgary, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
Hague has missed the last three games due to an illness, but he'll be back in action for the penultimate game of the regular season. He's been held without a point in each of his last seven appearances, but he logged 10 hits and nine blocked shots while averaging 18:47 of ice time across that span.

Drew Doughty D | LA
Kings' Drew Doughty: Returning against Oilers
Doughty (ankle) will be in the lineup for Monday's game versus Edmonton, Patrick O'Neal of Bally Sports West reports.
Doughty returns following a three-game stint on the shelf due to his ankle problem. Despite being limited to just 28 games this season, the veteran blueliner has already notched 17 points and could still reach the 20-point threshold -- a mark he's hit in every one of his previous 16 NHL campaigns.

Joel Edmundson D | LA
Kings' Joel Edmundson: Missing from road trip
Edmundson (upper body) didn't join the Kings for their two-game road trip, Dennis Bernstein of The Fourth Period reports Monday.
Edmundson will have one more opportunity to suit up before the postseason when the Kings face the Flames at home Thursday. Despite playing in just 72 games this year, the 31-year-old defenseman has already reached the 20-point threshold for the first time since 2019-20 when he was with Carolina. Jacob Moverare should continue to see plenty of ice time in Edmundson's absence -- especially if Drew Doughty (ankle) remains unavailable.
-
Josh Brown D | EDM
Oilers' Josh Brown: Brought up from minors
Brown was recalled from AHL Bakersfield on Monday, Daniel Nugent-Bowman of The Athletic reports.
Brown has one assist, five shots on goal, 13 hits and 11 blocked shots over eight NHL appearances this season. The 31-year-old Brown will replace Troy Stecher (undisclosed) in Monday's lineup versus the Kings.
-
Jake Walman D | EDM
Oilers' Jake Walman: Not playing Monday
Walman (undisclosed) won't be in the lineup for Monday's matchup versus the Kings, per Daniel Nugent-Bowman of The Athletic.
Walman will miss his fourth straight game but could be an option to return against the Sharks on Wednesday in the Oilers' regular-season finale. He has produced seven goals, 40 points, 164 shots on net, 145 blocked shots and 57 hits in 65 appearances between Edmonton and San Jose this season.
-
Mattias Ekholm D | EDM
Oilers' Mattias Ekholm: Will miss opening round
Ekholm (undisclosed) is not expected back until after the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Oilers play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels reports Monday.
Ekholm was already considered out indefinitely, so this latest update is far from a surprise given his status. With Troy Stecher (undisclosed) and Jake Walman (undisclosed) also banged up, the Oilers find themselves very thin on the blue line and will need to get some healthy players back sooner rather than later.
-
Troy Stecher D | TOR
Oilers' Troy Stecher: Unavailable Monday
Stecher (undisclosed) won't play against the Kings on Monday, Oilers play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels reports.
Stecher will miss at least one game after sustaining an injury in Sunday's 4-1 win over Winnipeg. If he doesn't return against San Jose on Wednesday in Edmonton's regular-season finale, he should be ready for Game 1 of the playoffs. Stecher has contributed three goals, seven points, 55 shots on net, 66 blocked shots and 35 hits across 66 appearances this season.

Jimmy Schuldt D | VAN
Sharks' Jimmy Schuldt: Called up by San Jose
Schuldt was recalled from AHL San Jose on Monday.
Schuldt was sent to the minors last week, but he'll rejoin the Sharks ahead of their final two regular-season games. The 29-year-old made six appearances for the Sharks in March, and he didn't record a point but logged 10 hits and three blocked shots while averaging 13:43 of ice time.
