    Savard (upper body) won't play Saturday versus the Avalanche, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

    He will miss a second straight game with the injury. Jayden Struble will remain in the lineup due to Savard's absence. Savard's next chance to play is Monday at home versus the Canucks.

  • Rangers' Braden Schneider: Ends scoring drought

    Schneider tallied an assist and added a plus-2 rating during Saturday's 7-4 loss to the Capitals.

    Schneider had been held off the scoresheet in 12 outings before Saturday's efforts. With just 10 points and a plus-4 rating in 38 games, Schneider isn't much of an offensive fantasy asset, but he can contribute in deeper leagues that credit his block and hit totals.

  • Rangers' Urho Vaakanainen: Bags apple Saturday

    Vaakanainen registered an assist and a plus-2 rating during Saturday's 7-4 loss to the Capitals.

    Vaakanainen's helper on Filip Chytil's third-period strike marked his first point since being acquired by the Rangers on Dec. 6 as part of the Jacob Trouba trade. The 26-year-old Vaakanainen has two points in 13 games this season between Anaheim and New York.

    Blues' Justin Faulk: Not playing Saturday

    Faulk (upper body) won't play against Columbus on Saturday, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports.

    Faulk will miss his second straight game. He has registered two goals, 13 points, 65 shots on net, 51 blocked shots and 48 hits through 37 outings this season. With Faulk unavailable, Scott Perunovich will be in Saturday's lineup.

  • Kings' Kyle Burroughs: Won't play Saturday

    Burroughs (personal) was designated non-roster playing status Saturday, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports.

    The Kings activated Trevor Moore (upper body) and Trevor Lewis (lower body) from injured reserve while loaning Andre Lee to AHL Ontario on Saturday in corresponding moves. Burroughs won't play against Tampa Bay on Saturday due to the birth of his child but could return to the lineup versus Calgary on Wednesday. He has two assists, three shots on goal, eight blocked shots and 31 hits in 20 appearances this season.

    Red Wings' Jeff Petry: Won't play Saturday

    Petry (undisclosed) won't play against Winnipeg on Saturday, Daniella Bruce of the Red Wings' official site reports.

    Petry will miss at least one game after being hurt in Thursday's 5-4 win over Columbus. He has accounted for one goal, five assists, 23 shots on net, 56 blocked shots and 39 hits across 34 appearances this season. Due to Petry's absence, Albert Johansson or William Lagesson will be in Saturday's lineup.

  • Hockey Club's Robert Bortuzzo: Put on injured reserve

    Bortuzzo (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Saturday and is regarded as week-to-week.

    Utah recalled Kevin Connauton from the minors in a corresponding move. Bortuzzo missed nine straight games before returning from a lower-body injury against Calgary on Thursday, logging 8:25 of playing time. It's unclear if he's dealing with a new problem or if he aggravated his original injury.Bortuzzo has two assists, seven shots on goal, 26 blocked shots and 20 hits in 16 appearances this season.

    Oilers' Josh Brown: Ascends to NHL

    Brown was recalled from AHL Bakersfield on Saturday, according to Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton.

    Brown will probably be a healthy scratch against Seattle on Saturday, serving as Edmonton's seventh defender. He has seven PIM, five blocked shots and six hits in three NHL appearances with the Oilers this campaign.

    Sabres' Jacob Bryson: Unavailable Saturday

    Bryson (illness) won't play versus Vegas on Saturday, per Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News.

    Bryson has contributed three assists, eight shots on goal, 31 blocked shots and four hits in 24 appearances this season. Dennis Gilbert will replace Bryson in Saturday's lineup.

  • Devils' Nick DeSimone: Placed on waivers

    The Devils put DeSimone on waivers Saturday, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

    DeSimone has been a healthy scratch in 22 games with the Devils this season. He hasn't seen any NHL action yet in 2024-25. If he passes through waivers, the 30-year-old defenseman could head to AHL Utica for playing time.
