  • Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Facing Capitals

Knight will guard the visiting crease in Washington on Friday, Vinnie Parise of The Hockey News reports.

Knight has taken over as the No. 1 goaltender in Chicago after his trade from Florida for Seth Jones on March 1. Knight is 3-6-1 with a 3.11 GAA and an .892 save percentage in 10 starts after going 12-8-1 with a 2.40 GAA with the Panthers over 23 games in 2024-25. The Capitals should give Knight all he can handle as they lead the NHL in scoring, averaging 3.60 goals per game this season.

  • Hurricanes' Pyotr Kochetkov: Between pipes Friday

Kochetkov will defend the visiting cage in Detroit on Friday.

Kochetov picked up his first victory in three starts Sunday, turning aside 27 shots in a 6-4 win over the Islanders. Kochetkov is 26-13-3 with a pair of shutouts, a 2.54 GAA and a .900 save percentage across 43 appearances this season. He is alternating starts with Frederik Andersen, and it remains to be seen if this arrangement will continue in the playoffs. The Red Wings are generating 2.81 goals per game in 2024-25, 21st in the NHL.

  • Joel Hofer G | STL

Blues' Joel Hofer: Earns win despite conceding four

Hofer stopped 24 of 28 shots in Thursday's 5-4 overtime win over the Penguins.

Hofer returned to protecting the Blues' crease after not doing so in the previous two contests, but he managed to keep his winning run alive. He's now come out on top in each of his last five starts, and he has also allowed two or fewer goals four times over that stretch. That translates to an outstanding 1.79 GAA and an excellent .921 save percentage across his five-game winning run.

  • Ville Husso G | ANA

Ducks' Ville Husso: Recalled by Anaheim

Husso was recalled from AHL San Diego on Friday, Zach Cavanagh of The Sporting Tribune reports.

Husso spent the last two weeks in the AHL, but he'll rejoin the Ducks to provide additional depth after John Gibson sustained a lower-body injury against the Flames on Thursday. It's not yet clear whether Gibson will miss additional time, but Husso will be available to serve as Lukas Dostal's backup if needed. Husso has made 11 appearances between the Red Wings and Ducks this year, going 1-6-2 with a 3.71 GAA and .874 save percentage.

  • Penguins' Tristan Jarry: Tagged with OT loss

Jarry stopped 14 of 19 shots in Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Blues.

Jarry started for a fifth consecutive game for the Penguins, but the results haven't been there, and he's earned just one win over that stretch (1-2-2). Furthermore, the 29-year-old has given up at least four goals in three of those starts, so he's not delivering a ton of value despite seeing regular ice time. Over that five-game stretch, Jarry has posted a 4.21 GAA and a subpar .840 save percentage.

  • Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: Starting in Ottawa

Bobrovsky will guard the visiting cage in Ottawa on Saturday, according to Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site.

Bobrovsky has lost his last two starts, allowing six goals on only 48 shots in losses to Montreal and Toronto. Bobrovsky is 31-17-2 with five shutouts, a 2.45 GAA and a .906 save percentage over 50 starts in 2024-25. The Senators are registering 2.85 goals per game this season, 20th in the NHL.

  • Capitals' Logan Thompson: Facing short-term absence

Thompson (upper body) is expected to "miss a little bit of time," Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports Friday.

Thompson is currently mired in a three-game losing streak during which he has posted a 5.58 GAA, .780 save percentage and 0-2-1 record. Since Thompson will be sidelined in the short term, the Caps recalled Hunter Shepard from the minors while Charlie Lindgren sees the bulk of the workload.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Starting Friday

Gustavsson will patrol the visiting crease versus the Islanders on Friday, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.

Gustavsson is 29-17-6 with five shutouts, a 2.54 GAA and a .916 save percentage over 53 games in 2024-25. It is a marked improvement over last season, when he had a 3.06 GAA and an .899 save percentage. Gustavsson will face the Islanders, who are registering 2.72 goals per game, 25th in the NHL this season.

  • Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Tending twine Friday

Lindgren will be between the home pipes versus Chicago on Friday, according to Sammi Silber of The Hockey News.

Lindgren will replace the injured Logan Thompson (upper body) as the Capitals' No. 1 goaltender in the short-term. Lindgren is 17-12-3 with one shutout, a 2.66 GAA and an .897 save percentage across 34 appearances in 2024-25. The Blackhawks are tied for 27th in NHL scoring this season, generating 2.69 goals per game.

  • Ilya Sorokin G | NYI

Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Exits ice first Friday

Sorokin was the first goalie to leave the ice Friday, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports, indicating he'll be in goal at home versus Minnesota.

Sorokin is mired in a personal four-game losing streak, during which he is 0-3-1 with a 3.76 GAA, while the Islanders have dropped six in a row (0-4-2). The 29-year-old netminder is stuck just three victories shy of getting back to the 30-win mark after missing that threshold last season. With New York not technically eliminated from playoff contention -- though running out of time to get there -- Sorokin could see extra work down the stretch.
