Dustin Wolf G | CGY
Flames' Dustin Wolf: Strong showing in win
Wolf stopped 30 of 31 shots in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Ducks.
Wolf gave up a shorthanded goal to Frank Vatrano in the first period, but the Flames scored four straight to earn the win. Wolf concludes January with a 7-3-0 record and 23 goals allowed over 10 outings for an excellent month that could help his case in the Calder Trophy race. He's up to 19-8-2 with a 2.51 GAA and a .917 save percentage through 29 appearances. The Flames have a back-to-back over the weekend, which will see them host the Red Wings on Saturday before visiting the Kraken on Sunday. Look for Wolf and Dan Vladar to split those games.

Ilya Sorokin G | NYI
Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Fifth straight win
Sorokin made 24 saves in a 3-0 win over the Flyers on Thursday.
Sorokin has won five straight games and seven of his last eight games. He's also run up three shutouts in that span. Sorokin is an elite netminder who hasn't been getting a lot of support from his teammates, so he's decided to carry them at this point. We love his work, and we especially love his dominance of the Flyers. In his last 15 games prior against the Flyers, he's 10-3-2 with three shutouts, 1.62 GAA and .944 save percentage.

Jakub Dobes G | MON
Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Takes first regulation loss
Dobes allowed three goals on 26 shots in Thursday's 4-0 loss to the Wild.
It took seven games into his NHL career for Dobes to pick up his first regulation loss. He didn't get much help from his teammates on the first two goals. Alexandre Carrier knocked the stick out of his hands, and Liam Ohgren scored seconds later. Two minutes later, a defensive breakdown led to a two-on-one rush and to a Marco Rossi tally. Dobes has been a good story since being called up in late December, but the rookie has allowed 11 goals over his last three starts and lost two straight. Montreal has two days off before beginning a road trip in Anaheim on Sunday.

David Rittich G | NYI
Kings' David Rittich: Tough loss to Bolts
Rittich made 30 saves in a 3-0 loss to the Lightning on Thursday. He allowed two goals.
He kept the game close -- the score was just 1-0 until the 15:39 mark of the third period. Still, Rittich has lost three consecutive games and five of his last six starts. He's 11-11-0 with a 2.62 GAA and .889 save percentage in 21 starts this season. Rittich is a risk every time he's in the paint.

Andrei Vasilevskiy G | TB
Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Third shutout this season
Vasilevskiy (illness) made 28 saves in a 3-0 win over the Kings on Thursday.
The shutout was Vasilevskiy's third of the season and 37th in the NHL. He had missed Tuesday's game with an illness, but was no worse for the wear against the Kings. Vasilevskiy sits in the NHL's top-10 in GAA (2.34) and save percentage (.916), and he's among the NHL's busiest twinetenders with 38 games started. We remain concerned that fatigue may become a factor at some point for Vasilevskiy, but he continues to rack up successes.

Marc-Andre Fleury G | PIT
Wild's Marc-Andre Fleury: Shines in hometown win
Fleury turned aside all 19 shots faced in Thursday's 4-0 win over the Canadiens.
It was an emotional night for Fleury, who may have played his last game in Montreal, which is about a hour's drive from his hometown of Sorel, Quebec. Canadiens fans serenaded the local boy, who recorded his first shutout of the season and 76th of his career in the NHL. Fleury improved to 11-5-1 and lowered his goals-against average to 2.60 through 18 appearances (16 starts). No longer a No. 1 goalie, the 40-year-old still has skills and has won five of his last seven starts. The Wild, who have won three straight, next play Saturday night in Ottawa.

Charlie Lindgren G | WAS
Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Saddled with loss
Lindgren turned aside 30 of 34 shots faced during Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Senators.
Lindgren kept the Capitals in it long enough to force the overtime frame but was hung out to dry on Thomas Chabot's overtime-winning tally. With Washington employing a fairly rigid split in netminding assignments between Lindgren and Logan Thompson, the 31-year-old Lindgren is likely to find himself next in action Feb. 4 against the Panthers.

Anton Forsberg G | LA
Senators' Anton Forsberg: Back in win column
Forsberg turned aside 31 of 35 shots faced during Thursday's 5-4 overtime win over the Capitals.
Forsberg withstood a late comeback by the Capitals to force the overtime frame and held on long enough for Thomas Chabot to pot the game-winner. The 32-year-old has victories in three of his last four starts working in tandem with Leevi Merilainen while Linus Ullmark (back) remains on the injured list.

Alex Lyon G | BUF
Red Wings' Alex Lyon: Set to start Thursday
Lyon is expected to start on the road against Edmonton on Thursday.
Lyon has an 8-6-1 record, 2.68 GAA and .901 save percentage in 19 outings in 2024-25. He hasn't won since Jan. 4, though Lyon has appeared in just four games since that date, posting a record of 0-1-1 with a 2.19 GAA and a .910 save percentage over that stretch. Edmonton ranks sixth in goals per game with 3.32.

John Gibson G | DET
Ducks' John Gibson: Making Thursday's start
Gibson will protect the road goal versus the Flames on Thursday, Ryan Pike of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.
Gibson backed up Tuesday versus the Kraken after leaving Saturday's game versus the Predators due to an upper-body injury. It appears it was a minor issue, and it won't impact his availability going forward. The Flames have won three of their last six games with 17 goals scored in that span.
