  • Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Solid but needs help from mates

Knight made 27 saves in a 4-1 loss to Detroit on Thursday. He allowed three goals.

This loss was not on Knight -- his team coughed up yet another hairball. They opened the scoring and then pretty much stopped skating and engaging. Knight's .897 save percentage is above the NHL average of .892; he's seen the most shots (340) this season, and that trend isn't likely to change. Still, his GSAx of 2.3 means Knight is stopping more pucks that an average goalie, which means he's actively stealing goals from opponents. Knight is performing well above the environment he plays in.

  • Blackhawks' Connor Bedard: Gets team's only goal

Bedard netted a goal Thursday in a 4-1 loss to Detroit.

Bedard deflected a point shot that hit John Gibson in the pads, and then he knocked the rebound in five-hole. The young superstar is on a modest four-game, four-point (two goals, two assists) streak. Bedard can't carry this team alone, though -- the Blackhawks sit second-last in the NHL with a 4-9-0 record in 13 games.

  • Alex DeBrincat RW | DET

Red Wings' Alex DeBrincat: On career pace

DeBrincat picked up two assists Thursday in a 4-1 win over Chicago.

DeBrincat is the team leader in points (15) and assists (nine) over 13 games. He has six points (one goal, five assists), including four power-play points (one PPG) in his last five contests. DeBrincat has 18 shots in that span. He's on a career pace for points (97) and shots (310).

  • Kings' Brandt Clarke: Exits with upper-body injury

Clarke (upper body) won't return to Thursday's game versus the Senators.

Clarke was ruled out for the remainder of the game early in the third period. The 23-year-old defenseman's exit may at least partially be cautionary after the tenor of the game turned contentious. Clarke will be day-to-day leading into Saturday's contest versus the Sabres.

  • John Gibson G | DET

Red Wings' John Gibson: Gets win against Chicago

Gibson delivered 18 saves in a 4-1 win over Chicago on Thursday.

Gibson has lost just once in regulation in his last five games (3-1-1) , but he's 4-4-1 with a 3.15 GAA and .874 save percentage in nine starts overall. Thursday's win was just the second full-game this season where he allowed just one goal in the contest. He's allowed four or more three times and those have all occurred in his last six starts. Gibson is consistently inconsistent and that makes him an unreliable fantasy option right now.

  • Lucas Raymond LW | DET

Red Wings' Lucas Raymond: Eight points in last five games

Raymond scored the game-winning goal in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Blackhawks.

It came on the power play early in the second frame. Raymond has three points (one goal, two assists) in his last two games and eight points, including four goals and five power-play points (three PPG, two PPA), and 16 shots on goal in his last five contests. With Dylan Larkin suspended by the team, Raymond is the de facto leader in Detroit. He already has 12 points in 13 games, and he's firing the puck far more than in the past. His 39 shots so far put him on a near 250 pace; his previous best was 192 in 2024-25. Raymond has delivered 72, 80 and 76 points in the last three seasons, and with the increased volume he could surpass his previous best.

  • Red Wings' Viktor Arvidsson: Hattie plus helper leads team to win

Arvidsson had a hat trick and an assist in a 4-1 win over Chicago on Thursday.

It was his sixth career shutout. Arvidsson exploded without Dylan Larkin, who was suspended by the Red Wings after saying he would not play while waiting for a trade. That's a great sign, as the winger will need to carry more of the offensive load in Detroit without Larkin. Arvidsson has six points, including four goals (10 shots), in his last two games, and he has 10 of his 14 points in his last six contests. Yes, it will be hard for the Wings without Larkin, but this was a great show-them game.

  • Senators' Andre Burakovsky: Hurt in Thursday's game

Burakovsky (lower body) won't return to Thursday's game versus the Kings.

Burakovsky joins Warren Foegele (knee) and William Eklund (ankle) as injured wingers for the Senators. For now, Burakovsky can be considered day-to-day. If he can't play Saturday versus the Sharks, the Senators will likely need to either make a roster move or dress seven blueliners to fill out their lineup.

  • Blues' Otto Stenberg: Returns to AHL

Stenberg was reassigned to AHL Springfield on Thursday.

Stenberg logged one assist over three outings with the big club. He was scratched for the previous two games, and the Blues would likely rather him be playing regularly in the AHL than watching from the press box.

  • Oilers' Tommy Lafreniere: Logs three assists for WMU

Lafreniere had three assists in Western Michigan University's 10-2 win over Long Island University on Thursday.

Lafreniere has picked up two goals and five assists through his first six games in college. The winger logged 77 points in 67 regular-season outings for WHL Kamloops in 2025-26. He also got a little action on an amateur tryout in the AHL, earning three points over eight games between the regular season and playoffs. Lafreniere's a third-round pick from 2025, so he may need multiple years in college before he's ready for the professional ranks.
