Alexander Kerfoot C | NSH
Predators' Alex Kerfoot: One of each Thursday
Kerfoot tallied a goal, recorded an assist and compiled a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Canadiens.
Kerfoot's first multi-point game of the campaign helped spark the Predators' comeback Thursday, as he scored the first of five goals for the team. He later picked up a secondary helper on Adam Edstrom's first empty-net tally. Overall, the 32-year-old Kerfoot is up to three points and four shots on net across four games in his first season in Nashville. After playing just 34 games with Utah a year ago, he's currently seeing usage as the Preds' top-line right winger. His increased role is certainly noteworthy, but he's best left on the waiver wire in fantasy until he makes performances such as Thursday's a regular occurrence, which he has proved he's capable of doing across his 10-year NHL career.

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen G | BUF
Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Beaten four times Thursday
Luukkonen allowed four goals on 18 shots in Thursday's 4-0 loss to the Stars.
Luukkonen endured a difficult outing, finishing with just 14 saves and a .778 save percentage as Buffalo failed to generate any offensive support. Dallas capitalized on its limited chances, and Luukkonen's early-season numbers are concerning. He's yet to post a save percentage above .800 in any of his three starts and has gone 1-2-0 with a .782 save percentage and 4.02 GAA thus far. Given Luukkonen's early-season woes, it wouldn't be surprising if Colton Ellis is in line to see more playing time in the near future.

Jake Oettinger G | DAL
Stars' Jake Oettinger: Posts 26-save shutout
Oettinger stopped all 26 shots he faced in Thursday's 4-0 win over the Sabres.
Oettinger delivered another flawless performance between the pipes, recording a second consecutive shutout while helping Dallas secure a comfortable road victory. Oettinger was beaten four times in the season opener against the Blues, but he's bounced back and has stopped each of the last 39 shots he's faced. Casey DeSmith is a strong backup alternative who can start on any given day, but Oettinger is locked in as the Stars' No. 1 goaltender until further notice.

Adam Edstrom C | NSH
Predators' Adam Edstrom: Sinks two empty netters
Edstrom scored two empty-net goals, posted a plus-2 rating, put two shots on net, recorded two blocked shots and dished out two hits in Thursday's 5-2 win over Montreal.
Edstrom delivered two daggers Thursday, as he potted a pair of empty-net tallies within the final three minutes of the contest. He was active in his 10:19 of ice time, remaining involved without the puck by blocking shots and distributing hits. The 25-year-old forward is up to two goals, 10 shots on net, 16 hits and four blocked shots across four appearances in his first season with the Predators. He appears to have solidified his role on Nashville's fourth line, which should keep him in the mix for a career year if he can surpass the nine points he posted in the 2024-25 regular season. Edstrom isn't setting off any fantasy alarms, but if he continues to show steady growth, he could become a streaming option in deep leagues that value banger stats.

Jason Robertson LW | DAL
Stars' Jason Robertson: Scores vs. Buffalo
Robertson scored a goal on four shots in Thursday's 4-0 win over the Sabres.
Robertson was one of four Dallas players to find the back of the net, joining Mikko Rantanen, Roope Hintz and Sam Steel in the scoring column. His four shots ranked second on the team behind Hintz's six, highlighting his involvement in an efficient offensive showing for Dallas, and he's trending in the right direction. After going pointless in the first two games of the campaign, Robertson has posted three points in his last two games (two goals, one assist). He's also taken four shots in each of his last two appearances after tallying three combined in his first two showings.
-
Wyatt Johnston C | DAL
Stars' Wyatt Johnston: Records three assists
Johnston recorded three assists, including one on the power play, and one shot on goal in Thursday's 4-0 win over the Sabres.
Johnston was one of Dallas' primary playmakers, matching Rantanen with three assists while helping the Stars generate offense throughout the contest. The 23-year-old center also won seven of 11 faceoffs, providing a strong all-around contribution in the convincing victory, and he's up to four assists this season. He's lacking in the goals column, though, as he hasn't scored in four appearances despite taking 10 shots on goal.

Jacob Fowler G | MON
Canadiens' Jacob Fowler: Yields three goals Thursday
Fowler turned away 15 of 18 shots on net in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Predators.
Fowler's first start of the 2026-27 regular season left some to be desired, but he performed better than the final score indicates due to a pair of empty-net tallies in the final moments of regulation. The 21-year-old netminder tended to a clean first period, a solid first 15 minutes of the second period, and a tidy first 16 and a half minutes of the third before he allowed the go-ahead goal. With Sam Montembeault (undisclosed) undergoing further testing to reveal the extent of his injury, Fowler projects to play a complementary role to Jakub Dobes for the time being. Fowler just missed out on making the Canadiens' Opening Night roster, so if he can impress while he's up from AHL Laval, he could cement his NHL roster spot moving forward.

Mikko Rantanen RW | DAL
Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Records four points in shutout win
Rantanen scored a goal on two shots and added three assists, including one on the power play, in Thursday's 4-0 win over the Sabres.
Rantanen factored into all four Dallas goals, delivering a dominant offensive performance despite playing a season-low 15:27. The Finnish winger also finished with a plus-3 rating and contributed three points at even strength, helping Dallas control the game without relying heavily on its power play. His chemistry with Wyatt Johnston was particularly productive, as the pair combined for seven points. Rantanen went pointless in the season-opening loss to the Blues, but he's turned things around with six points (two goals, four helpers) in his last three outings.

Juuse Saros G | NSH
Predators' Juuse Saros: Strong showing in win
Saros halted 32 of 34 shots on goal in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Canadiens.
Saros sustained success Thursday across a large body of work. Despite having a shaky start to the second period, the 31-year-old netminder dialed in down the stretch to keep the Canadiens off the board across the final 32 minutes of the matchup. Across four games in the 2026-27 regular season, he is up to a 2-1-1 record, a 2.72 GAA and a .916 save percentage across 131 shots on goal. With Justus Annunen (undisclosed) on injured reserve, Saros is expected to handle most opportunities between the pipes until the former returns. He'll look to keep momentum on his side if he's called upon for Saturday's clash in Ottawa.

Shayne Gostisbehere D | CAR
Hurricanes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Two PP helpers in big win
Gostisbehere produced two power-play assists in Thursday's 7-2 rout of Vancouver.
Both helpers came in the first period on Andrei Svechnikov tallies as the defending Stanley Cup champs built a 3-0 lead before the 10-minute mark. Gostisbehere has a three-game point streak going that has seen him collect a goal and four points, all on the power play, as he looks to repeat last season's impressive showing of 50 points (13 goals, 37 assists) in just 55 regular-season contests.
