  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Struggles in second period

Lankinen allowed three goals on 28 shots in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Golden Knights.

All three goals against came in the second period, and the Canucks weren't able to provide an answer in the third. Lankinen has started three of Vancouver's four games so far, allowing a total of 16 goals on 85 shots while going 1-2-0. The 31-year-old netminder has been outplayed by Leevi Merilainen in this small sample of work, so it's fair to say the No. 1 job is up for grabs. The Canucks are set to head east on a six-game road trip that begins against the Hurricanes on Thursday.

  • Golden Knights' Marc Gatcomb: Deposits game-winning tally

Gatcomb scored a goal and added four hits in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Canucks.

Gatcomb's goal at 18:28 of the second period stood as the game-winner. The 27-year-old forward is on a two-year deal with the Golden Knights after spending the last two seasons with the Islanders. He's a fourth-liner by nature, but he's already earned two points, five shots on net, 14 hits and a minus-1 rating over three contests this season. It's unclear if Gatcomb will keep his spot in the lineup once Raphael Lavoie (undisclosed) is ready to play.

  • Golden Knights' Victor Olofsson: Puts away power-play goal

Olofsson scored a power-play goal on four shots in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Canucks.

Olofsson is off to a great start this season with two power-play goals and an even-strength assist across three games. The veteran winger has added seven shots on net and an even plus-minus rating. Olofsson's third-line usage at even strength is nothing special, but if he continues to be effective with the man advantage, he'll have appeal as a scoring-only depth forward in fantasy.

  • Golden Knights' Mitch Marner: Finds twine Sunday

Marner scored a goal on three shots in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Canucks.

Marner got the Golden Knights on the board in the second period. The playmaking winger has two points, eight shots on net, two hits and an even plus-minus rating over three games this season. He will continue to be a fixture in the top six and on the power play, and he carries point-per-game potential, though he won't add much outside of offense.

  • Adin Hill G | LV

Golden Knights' Adin Hill: Allows two goals in win

Hill stopped 18 of 20 shots in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Canucks.

A three-goal second period for the Golden Knights was all the support Hill needed to win his season debut. The 30-year-old had backed up Carter Hart in the first two games of the year, but head coach Ryan Craig clearly didn't want Hill sitting for too long. Neither goalie is a clear-cut No. 1 at this stage of the campaign, so there could be an element of momentum that comes into play with how Vegas divvies up the workload in the crease. The Golden Knights' next game is in Seattle on Tuesday.

  • Morgan Frost C | CGY

Flames' Morgan Frost: Breaks up shutout bid

Frost scored a power-play goal on three shots and added three hits in Sunday's 6-1 loss to the Kraken.

Frost cashed in at the net front on a pass from Matvei Gridin in the third period. Through three games this season, Frost has a goal, eight shots, three hits, three blocked shots and a minus-6 rating. He's functioning as the Flames' top-line center, but he probably wouldn't see much more than middle-six usage on the vast majority of other NHL teams. The role makes him a viable depth option in deep fantasy formats, but don't expect much more than the 43 points he produced in all 82 games last year.

  • Dustin Wolf G | CGY

Flames' Dustin Wolf: Rough showing versus Kraken

Wolf allowed six goals on 27 shots in Sunday's 6-1 loss to the Kraken.

The Flames' defense had a couple of breakdowns in the first period, and Wolf gave up three goals early. That was far too much to come back from. Wolf has given up 12 goals on 59 shots over two games against Seattle to begin his season, though the Flames will need to score more than one goal a game to give their goalies a chance. The Flames will have some time to recoup before hosting the Avalanche on Thursday in what is one of the most lopsided matchups on the slate early in the year.

  • Kraken's Brandon Montour: Provides pair of assists

Montour notched two assists, three shots on goal, two blocked shots and a plus-3 rating in Sunday's 6-1 win over the Flames.

Montour was quiet on offense over the first two games of the campaign before breaking out in this one. He's made up for it with non-scoring production, collecting five hits, six blocked shots, 10 PIM and a plus-2 rating. Montour should see steady top-four usage and power-play time throughout the campaign. He was held to 32 points in 64 outings last year but should push for the 40-point mark if he can stay healthy.

  • Kraken's Chandler Stephenson: Registers two helpers

Stephenson notched two assists and went plus-2 in Sunday's 6-1 win over the Flames.

Stephenson has gotten on the scoresheet in all three games so far, amassing one goal, three helpers, four shots on net and a plus-2 rating. The 32-year-old center is in his usual second-line spot as well as working on both sides of special teams. Stephenson has some upside as a playmaker with 50-point potential, but he won't add much else for fantasy managers.

  • Shane Wright C | SEA

Kraken's Shane Wright: Lights lamp Sunday

Wright scored a goal and went plus-2 in Sunday's 6-1 win over the Flames.

Wright scored on a spin move in the second period to stretch the Kraken's lead to 4-0, breaking a stretch of pressure from the Flames. The 22-year-old Wright has two points, three shots on net, two blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over three contests this season. He requested a trade in the offseason but has since turned his focus to making things work with the Kraken, at least for this year. Wright is on the third line to begin the campaign.
