  • Blues' Logan Mailloux: Exits Saturday's game

Mailloux left Saturday's preseason game against Chicago due to an upper-body injury.

Mailloux had five goals, 13 points and 48 PIM in 67 regular-season appearances with St. Louis in 2025-26. Calle Rosen might play in St. Louis' season opener in Dallas on Friday if Mailloux isn't available.

  • Jackson Blake RW | CAR

Hurricanes' Jackson Blake: Three points in preseason finale

Blake scored a power-play goal and added two assists, one with the man advantage, in Saturday's 6-0 preseason win over the Predators.

His early first-period tally opened the scoring and held up as the game-winner, as the defending Stanley Cup champions wrap up their preseason in style. Blake had a career year offensively with 22 goals and 53 points in 81 regular-season games last campaign. He also led Carolina with 20 points (seven goals, 13 assists) in 19 playoff contests. The 23-year-old winger should have a top-six role to open 2026-27, and Blake could take on additional responsibilities while Seth Jarvis (shoulder) remains on the shelf.

  • Hurricanes' Brandon Bussi: Blanks Preds in preseason finale

Bussi stopped all 22 shots he faced in Saturday's 6-0 preseason win over Nashville.

Last season's breakout star in the crease for the Hurricanes wrapped up his preseason with an impressive three-period performance. He will split starts with Pyotr Kochetkov in 2026-27, but Bussi is the early favorite to handle the No. 1 role. Bussi posted a 2.47 GAA and won 31 games, including two via shutouts, in the 2025-26 regular season.

  • Kings' Joel Edmundson: Is day-to-day

Edmundson (undisclosed) is day-to-day, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports Saturday.

Edmundson's status for the Kings' season opener in Colorado on Wednesday remains uncertain. If Edmundson can't play in the opener, then Erik Gustafsson might draw into the lineup. Edmundson has two goals and 23 points in 82 regular-season appearances in 2025-26.

  • Jacob Fowler G | MON

Canadiens' Jacob Fowler: Starting at home

Fowler is set to start at home against Ottawa in Saturday's preseason game, per the NHL media site.

Fowler had a 9-6-2 record, 2.43 GAA and .908 save percentage in 17 regular-season appearances in 2025-26. Jakub Dobes is slated to begin the upcoming campaign as Montreal's No. 1 goaltender, while Fowler and Sam Montembeault might both make the team and pick up starts when Dobes needs a breather.

  • Senators' Samuel Ersson: Getting road start

Ersson is set to start on the road in Montreal for Saturday's preseason game, per the NHL media site.

Ersson had a 14-11-5 record, 3.12 GAA and .870 save percentage in 33 regular-season appearances with the Flyers in 2025-26. He's slated to start the upcoming campaign as Ottawa's No. 2 goaltender behind Linus Ullmark.

  • Ducks' Pavel Mintyukov: Battling illness

Mintyukov didn't play in Saturday's preseason tilt against Los Angeles because of an illness, per Derek Lee of The Hockey News.

Mintyukov had eight goals, 22 points, 39 hits and 112 blocks in 73 regular-season appearances in 2025-26. The Ducks don't have their regular-season opener until Friday in Vegas, so Mintyukov might still be fine for that game.

  • Jakub Dobes G | MON

Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Gets road start

Dobes will guard the road goal against Ottawa in Saturday's preseason game, per the NHL media site.

Dobes stopped nine of 11 shots in a 4-3 preseason overtime win over Toronto. He played in half of that outing before Jacob Fowler entered the game. Dobes had a 29-10-4 record, 2.78 GAA and .901 save percentage in 43 regular-season appearances in 2025-26.

  • Joey Daccord G | SEA

Kraken's Joey Daccord: Gets start Saturday

Daccord is set to start in Vancouver for Saturday's preseason outing, per the NHL media site.

Daccord stopped 14 shots across two periods in last Saturday's 4-2 exhibition win over the Canucks. He had a 20-20-6 record, 3.03 GAA and .896 save percentage in 47 regular-season appearances in 2025-26, which was down from a 2.75 GAA and a .906 save percentage across 57 outings in the 2024-25 regular season.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Slated starter Saturday

Lankinen is expected to start at home against Seattle in Saturday's preseason game, per Canucks play-by-play announcer Brendan Batchelor.

Lankinen turned aside 27 of 30 shots in a 3-1 preseason loss to Calgary on Tuesday. Thatcher Demko (hip) isn't likely to be ready for Opening Night, so Lankinen and Leevi Merilainen will probably be competing for starts at the beginning of the campaign.
