  • Kai Uchacz C | LV

Golden Knights' Kai Uchacz: Labeled week-to-week

Uchacz is considered week-to-week with an undisclosed injury, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports Monday.

Uchacz played in three regular-season games with the Golden Knights last year in which he failed to record a point while generating two shots, seven hits and five PIM. Even without the injury concerns, Uchacz was unlikely to make the Opening Night roster. Once given the all-clear, the Calgary native figures to end up in AHL Henderson.

  • Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Expected to start Monday

Knight is expected to start Monday's home preseason game against the Wild, Vinnie Parise of The Hockey News reports.

Knight was in the starter's crease during Monday's morning skate, and he's expected to start and play the entire game during Chicago's first home preseason matchup of the year. Across 55 regular-season appearances with Chicago last year, he went 19-25-11 with a 2.82 GAA and .902 save percentage.

  • Corey Perry RW | LA

Kings' Corey Perry: Attending to personal matter

Perry is temporarily away from the team for personal reasons, John Hoven of SiriusXM NHL Network Radio reports Monday.

Based on Perry's timeline, he should be expected to miss both Tuesday and Wednesday's preseason games versus the Mammoth and Ducks, respectively. At this point, there is no reason to suspect that Perry won't be back in time for the regular-season opener against the Avalanche on Wednesday.

  • Joel Hofer G | STL

    Blues' Joel Hofer: Facing Stars

Hofer will guard the road goal in Monday's preseason matchup against Dallas, according to Lou Korac of The Hockey News.

Hofer is expected to play the first two periods before Georgii Romanov enters the game in the third frame. The 26-year-old Hofer posted a 24-13-5 record with six shutouts, a 2.61 GAA and a .909 save percentage in 46 appearances during the 2025-26 regular season.

  • Blackhawks' Derrick Pouliot: Waived by Chicago

Pouliot was placed on waivers by the Blackhawks on Monday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Pouliot was traded to Chicago from the Rangers in March, and he recorded six assists and a minus-3 rating across 16 appearances with AHL Rockford. After spending the start of training camp with the Blackhawks, he'll land on waivers and will likely report back to the IceHogs if he clears.

  • Kraken's Victor Ostman: Lands on waivers

Ostman was put on waivers Monday for the purpose of being sent to AHL Coachella Valley.

Ostman made one NHL appearance with Seattle in the 2025-26 campaign, stopping 33 of 35 shots in a 2-0 loss to Colorado on April 16. He spent most of the 2025-26 regular season in the minors, posting a 17-15-3 record with a 2.81 GAA and a .906 save percentage in 36 outings for the Firebirds.

  • Kraken's Logan Morrison: Waived by club

Morrison was designated for waivers by the Kraken on Monday.

Morrison hasn't played in an NHL game since 2023-24, when he logged four games for the Kraken. The 24-year-old center put up big numbers last year, generating 29 goals and 32 assists in 68 regular-season tilts with the Firebirds. Still, it wasn't enough to earn him a call-up to the big club. If he does play in any NHL games this year, it will likely be due to injury.

  • John Hayden C | SEA

Kraken's John Hayden: Waived for AHL demotion

Hayden was placed on waivers Monday for the purpose of being reassigned to AHL Coachella Valley.

Hayden notched 13 goals and 11 assists in 67 minor-league appearances for the Firebirds during the 2025-26 regular season. The 31-year-old forward didn't post a point in three NHL outings with Seattle last October.

  • Kraken's JR Avon: Lands on waivers

Avon was placed on waivers for the purpose of reassignment Monday.

Avon has yet to appear in an NHL game, spending the last three seasons in the AHL. Undrafted out of the OHL, the 23-year-old center notched 10 goals and 14 assists in 45 regular-season contests for AHL Coachella Valley before adding eight points in 12 playoff games.

  • Maple Leafs' Dakota Joshua: Status uncertain for Opening Night

Head coach Jim Hiller said Monday that he isn't sure whether Joshua's undisclosed injury will impact his availability for the Maple Leafs' Opening Night matchup against Montreal on Sept. 29, Lance Hornby of The Toronto Sun reports.

Joshua didn't participate in either of Toronto's split-squad preseason games Saturday due to his unspecified injury. Although he's skating, his injury is putting his status to begin the regular season into question after he appeared in 55 regular-season games -- his lowest mark since the 2021-22 campaign -- during his first year in Toronto last season. Across those 55 appearances, Joshua recorded 10 goals, eight assists, 195 hits, 49 PIM and 32 blocked shots while averaging 12:15 of ice time.
