  • Hockey Club's Mikhail Sergachev: Hands out power-play helper

Sergachev logged a power-play assist in Friday's 2-1 win over the Wild.

Sergachev has two goals and six assists over eight outings in December, and four of those helpers have come with the man advantage. Sergachev played 29:15 in this contest, his second-highest total in a game this year. The defenseman remains one of Utah's most important and productive players. He's at eight goals, 16 helpers, nine power-play points, 54 shots on net, 57 blocked shots and a plus-6 rating through 32 appearances.

  • Hockey Club's Clayton Keller: Registers power-play helper in win

Keller notched a power-play assist and two shots on goal in Friday's 2-1 win over the Wild.

Keller has four goals and five assists over his last seven outings. Seven of those nine points have come on the power play, where Keller continues to play a large role on the first unit. The winger is up to 31 points (12 on the power play), 80 shots on net and a minus-1 rating through 32 contests overall. He's been right around a point-per-game pace over the last three years, so this level of offense is definitely sustainable.

  • Dylan Guenther RW | UTA

Hockey Club's Dylan Guenther: Scores both goals in win

Guenther scored twice on three shots in Friday's 2-1 win over the Wild.

Guenther tied the game at 1-1 just one minute after Mats Zuccarello opened the scoring in the first period. Midway through the third, Guenther added a power-play goal that stood as the game-winner. The 21-year-old winger has six goals over his last four outings and has racked up 11 points during his seven-game streak. He's contributed 17 tallies, 32 points (15 on the power play), 81 shots on net and a plus-13 rating over 32 outings this season. He's two goals and three points shy of matching his production from 45 appearances in 2023-24.

  • Hockey Club's Karel Vejmelka: Extends win streak to four games

Vejmelka stopped 28 of 29 shots in Friday's 2-1 win over the Wild.

Mats Zuccarello opened the scoring midway through the first period, but that was all the Wild could put past Vejmelka. Dylan Guenther provided the offense with both of Utah's goals, and Vejmelka protected the lead for the last 10 minutes of the third. He's won four starts in a row, giving up seven goals on 101 shots in that span. Vejmelka is at an 8-7-2 record with a 2.29 GAA and a .918 save percentage through 19 appearances this season. Utah's got a back-to-back up next -- they host the Ducks on Sunday and the Stars on Monday, so Vejmelka could start Monday's game if the team opts to play its top goalie against the stronger opponent.

  • Jakub Vrana C | WAS

Capitals' Jakub Vrana: Chips in goal Friday

Vrana scored a goal on his only shot in Friday's 3-1 win over the Hurricanes.

Vrana put Washington up 2-0 at 16:11 of the middle frame by ripping one past Pyotr Kochetkov's glove side. The marker snapped a four-game goal drought for Vrana. The 28-year-old is filling a third-line role, but he saw only 6:48 of ice time in Friday's win. Vrana has made the most of his opportunities, as he's provided five goals and four assists while averaging 9:59 of ice time through 19 appearances.

  • Capitals' Aliaksei Protas: Back on scoresheet in victory

Protas found the back of the net on three shots and went plus-2 in 18:00 of ice time in Friday's 3-1 win over the Hurricanes.

Protas opened the scoring late in the first period by deflecting an Andrew Mangiapane shot past Pyotr Kochetkov. The goal snapped a three-game point drought for Protas. The 23-year-old is just two points shy of matching his career high that he set last season. The left-shot winger ranks third on the Caps in points, and he's up to 12 goals, 27 points, six PIM, 59 shots on goal and a plus-16 rating through 32 appearances. Protas is shooting at a 20.3 percent clip, though, so he could see some regression in that area over the course of the campaign.

  • Jeff Petry D | DET

Red Wings' Jeff Petry: Manages assist in loss

Petry put up an assist and two blocked shots in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Canadiens.

Petry has three points over his last three games. He was initially credited with the Red Wings' second goal, but it was later ruled Joe Veleno got a piece of the shot on the way in. Petry is now at six points, 20 shots on net, 34 hits, 47 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating over 28 appearances this season. He continues to see steady usage on the second pairing, and also occasionally on the power play when Erik Gustafsson is out of the lineup.

  • Andrew Copp C | DET

Red Wings' Andrew Copp: Nabs helper Friday

Copp produced an assist, four shots on goal and two blocked shots in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Canadiens.

Copp has two goals and three helpers over his last five contests. The center set up a Patrick Kane tally in the first period. Copp is at 14 points, 38 shots on net, 18 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating through 32 games. He spent much of the early part of the season on the third line, but a move into the top six recently has unlocked more offense in his game, so he may be of interest in deeper fantasy formats.

  • Hurricanes' Pyotr Kochetkov: Minimal offensive support in defeat

Kochetkov conceded three goals on 22 shots in Friday's 3-1 loss to the Capitals.

Kochetkov turned in a solid performance Friday in a goaltender duel against Charlie Lindgren, but the Hurricanes weren't able to muster up enough offensive support for their netminder. Kochetkov hasn't been able to get into a groove lately, as he's alternated wins and losses over seven appearances in December. The 25-year-old is sporting a 13-6-0 record, .900 save percentage and 2.51 GAA through 20 appearances. Carolina has had five different goaltenders make an appearance in 2024-25, but Kochetkov has been the only one to start in at least eight games.

  • Alex DeBrincat RW | DET

Red Wings' Alex DeBrincat: Garners helper

DeBrincat provided an assist and two shots on goal in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Canadiens.

DeBrincat had four goals over eight games to begin December, but this was his first helper of the month. He helped out on Patrick Kane's first-period tally. DeBrincat is well-established as a goal scorer, and he's been pretty good in that department with 13 tallies to go with 12 assists over 32 contests this season. The winger has added 84 shots on net and a minus-8 rating while seeing top-six minutes and power-play time.
