  • Sabres' Rasmus Dahlin: Among league's best defenders

Dahlin scored a goal in a 5-0 win over the Islanders on Saturday.

Dahlin finished plus-4 with three shots and two hits. In his last 10 games, he has four goals, five assists, two PPG, 16 hits, 19 blocks and 22 shots. Dahlin sits in 11th in league scoring with eight goals, 29 assists, 46 hits, 62 blocks and 121 shots from the blue line. He's seventh overall in shots and in a four-player tie for eighth in power-play points (14).

  • Alex Tuch RW | BUF

Sabres' Alex Tuch: Steady production continues

Tuch scored a goal in Saturday's 5-0 win over the Islanders.

Tuch has been steady and productive since the December break, putting up 12 points, including seven goals, and 28 shots in 15 games. He's on pace to equal his 67-point season of 2024-25, although his production on the second power-play unit will deliver fewer opportunities to match his 11 PPP of last season. Tuch currently has four points with the man advantage this season.

  • Sabres' Tage Thompson: Pots 21 points in last 15 games

Thompson scored a goal Saturday in a 5-0 win over the Islanders.

Thompson is on a modest three-game, three-point (two goals, one assist) scoring streak, and he has 21 points (nine goals, 12 assists) and 51 shots in 15 games since the December break. One goal and five of the assists in that span have come on the power play. At his current scoring pace, Thompson will record his third 40-plus goal season in his last four.

  • Capitals' Jakob Chychrun: Slated to play Saturday

Chychrun (undisclosed) is expected to be in the lineup Saturday versus the Oilers, Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post reports.

Chychrun was dealing with whiplash after taking a hit in the third period Friday versus the Flames. However, it appears he has checked out fine and will be able to stay in the lineup without missing a full contest. Expect the defenseman to occupy his usual top-four role with power-play time.

  • Liam Foudy C | NYI

Islanders' Liam Foudy: Nets pair for Bridgeport

Foudy scored twice in AHL Bridgeport's 4-3 shootout loss to Providence on Saturday.

Foudy is surging with seven goals and two assists during a seven-game point streak. That puts him at 13 goals and 21 points in 28 appearances this season. Eight of those goals have come in January, but it's unclear if his recent success will lead to a call-up.

  • Jason Zucker LW | BUF

Sabres' Jason Zucker: Seven points in last six games

Zucker scored twice Saturday in a 5-0 win over the Islanders.

Zucker's goal 33 seconds into the second frame opened the scoring and stood as the winner. He struck just 25 seconds into the third period to push the score to 3-0. Zucker has three goals in his last two games, and he has points in five of his last six outings (three goals, four assists). He has 13 shots in that span. Zucker may be available in your league -- he's woefully under-rostered in a lot of formats. You can use his heat. He has 13 goals, 14 assists, 11 PPP (six PPG) and 69 shots in 32 games this season.

  • Islanders' David Rittich: No help from his teammates

Rittich made 16 saves Saturday in a 5-0 loss to the Sabres. He allowed four goals.

Rittich kept the game close through two periods -- the score was just 2-0 heading into the third period, but he was hung out to dry by his teammates on the second goal at 19:47 of the middle frame. Rittich is back to his role as backup to Ilya Sorokin, which means he's playing every third or fourth game. He's lost his past three games, and he's allowed four goals in each of his last two games.

  • Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Expected to start Saturday

Kuemper is expected to start on the road against St. Louis on Saturday, per Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site.

Kuemper will try to earn his first win since Jan. 5 after going 0-2-3 with a 3.53 GAA and an .855 save percentage across his past six appearances. He's 12-9-9 with a 2.52 GAA and a .904 save percentage in 32 outings this campaign. The Blues have lost their past three games, getting outscored 11-3, which could make this a decent opportunity for Kuemper to return to the win column.

  • Alex Lyon G | BUF

    Sabres' Alex Lyon: Blanks Islanders

Lyon made 26 saves in a 5-0 win over the Islanders on Saturday.

Lyon is on a roll, winning his last nine games. He had to be sharp Saturday, especially in the first two frames, when his teammates made more than a few bad decisions that led to chances. He made 13 saves in the first period alone, and he stood tall on a breakaway and made monster saves on a power play in the second. Lyon is 12-6-3 with a 2.70 GAA and a .911 save percentage in 23 appearances this season.

  • Dylan Holloway LW | STL

Blues' Dylan Holloway: Will sit out Saturday

Holloway (ankle) will not play Saturday versus the Kings but is expected to practice Monday, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

Holloway returned quickly from an ankle injury, but it appears he's managing the issue again. Korac adds that Holloway will have to get used to playing through some pain until the injury is 100 percent healed. It's unclear if he'll play Tuesday versus the Stars.
