Hofer has allowed two or fewer goals in each of his past three starts. He's 11-10-2 with a 2.73 GAA and a .904 save percentage in 27 outings in 2025-26. The Kings are 6-8-6 dating back to Dec. 10 and have managed just 2.35 goals per game across that 20-game stretch.

Gibson will guard the road goal versus the Jets on Saturday.
Gibson will get the nod as he looks to extend his winning streak to eight games. Over his last seven outings, he's posted a 1.83 GAA and a .934 save percentage, including one shutout win. The 32-year-old faces a Jets team that has scored just seven goals over the last four games, going 1-2-1 in that span.

Lightning's Jack Finley: Dealing with illness
Finley is battling an illness, which is why he won't play Saturday in Columbus.
Although Finley exited Friday's 2-1 shootout win due to an undisclosed injury, it seems that's not the reason he's unavailable versus the Blue Jackets. Max Crozier is also on the shelf because of an illness. Jakob Pelletier and Simon Lundmark are set to draw into the lineup Saturday.

Crozier (illness) won't play Saturday versus the Blue Jackets.
Crozier had played in 23 straight games since returning from an undisclosed injury, but that streak will end Saturday. He has gone seven contests without a point. Simon Lundmark will draw in on the third pairing to make his NHL debut, while Crozier will try to be healthy in time for Monday's game versus the Mammoth.

Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Guarding road goal
Johansson is set to start on the road against Columbus on Saturday, per Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers.
Johansson will be making his first start since Jan. 12. He will get the second half of Tampa Bay's back-to-back, but has played sparingly behind Andrei Vasilevskiy. Johansson has a 10-6-1 record, 2.73 GAA and .896 save percentage in 18 outings this campaign. Columbus has won five of its past six games, outscoring the competition 18-12 across that stretch.

Lightning's Jack Finley: Unavailable Saturday
Finley (undisclosed) won't play against Columbus on Saturday, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports.
Finley will miss at least one game after getting hurt in Friday's 2-1 shootout win over Chicago. He has chipped in two goals, one assist, 10 shots on net and 31 hits in 18 games this season. Jakob Pelletier will replace Finley in Saturday's lineup.

Senators' Mads Sogaard: Brought up from minors
Sogaard was recalled from AHL Belleville on Saturday.
According to Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia, Sogaard's return to the NHL roster will provide Ottawa with some weather insurance between the pipes, with the team set to host Carolina on Saturday and Vegas on Sunday. In his lone NHL appearance this season, Sogaard allowed five goals on 16 shots in an 8-2 loss to Colorado on Jan. 8.

Hurricanes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Not expected to play
Gostisbehere (lower body) is slated to miss Saturday's game against Ottawa, per Peter Dewar of the Hurricanes' official site.
Gostisbehere remains day-to-day and will sit out his fifth straight game. He has produced six goals, 32 points, 73 shots on net and 42 blocked shots across 35 appearances this season. With Carolina's next game scheduled for Thursday against Utah, Gostisbehere has some additional time to recover.

Hurricanes' Brandon Bussi: Slated to face Ottawa
Bussi is expected to start on the road against Ottawa on Saturday.
Bussi has won his past two starts while stopping 32 of 34 shots (.941 save percentage). He has an 18-3-1 record, 2.20 GAA and .904 save percentage in 22 outings in 2025-26. Ottawa is going through a rough patch with a 5-7-3 record across its past 15 games. However, the Senators have averaged a respectable 3.27 goals per game over that stretch despite their subpar record.

Kings' Trevor Moore: Removed from IR
Moore (upper body) was activated from injured reserve Saturday, per the NHL media site.
Following an 11-game absence, Moore appears ready to return to the lineup against St. Louis on Saturday. He has collected five goals, 13 points, 67 shots on net, 22 blocked shots and 22 hits across 37 appearances this season.
