  • Jason Zucker LW | BUF

Sabres' Jason Zucker: Sets tone early in win

Zucker scored a goal in a 4-2 win over the Canadiens on Thursday.

Zucker set the tone just 44 seconds into the game when he drove the net on a 2-on-1 and ripped a shot past Sam Montembeault from the right hash marks. The 34-year-old Zucker has points in four of his last five games (one goal, four assists) and 10 shots in that span. Overall, Zucker has 11 goals, 14 assists and 66 shots in 31 games this season. He remains a sneaky fantasy option based on his strong points-per-game ratio.

  • Beck Malenstyn LW | BUF

Sabres' Beck Malenstyn: Six hits plus shorthanded goal

Malenstyn scored a shorthanded goal in a 4-2 win over Montreal on Thursday.

He also leveled six hits and blocked two shots. Malenstyn's shortie was the Sabres' seventh this season, tying them with Calgary and Los Angeles for the most in the NHL. Malenstyn's fantasy value is tied to his ability to bruise -- he has 178 hits to go with four goals and four assists in 49 games.

  • Quinn Hughes D | MIN

Wild's Quinn Hughes: Distributes three assists

Hughes notched three assists, three shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the Red Wings.

Hughes has a goal and seven helpers over his last four games. His first assist Thursday came on a Kirill Kaprizov power-play tally. The 26-year-old Hughes is up to four goals, 47 points (20 on the power play), 127 shots on net, 55 blocked shots, 18 PIM and an even plus-minus rating across 46 contests between the Wild and the Canucks this season. Hughes remains among the elite point producers from the blue line and should be a fixture in fantasy lineups.

  • Wild's Mats Zuccarello: Keeps team in fight Thursday

Zuccarello scored twice and added a power-play assist in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the Red Wings.

Zuccarello set up Kirill Kaprizov on the Wild's first goal. In the third period, Zuccarello had two tallies, each of which tied the game, setting the stage for Kaprizov to be the hero in overtime. The 38-year-old Zuccarello has earned three goals and five assists during a four-game point streak. That surge puts him at eight goals, 29 points (10 on the power play) and 63 shots on net through 32 outings this season.

  • Wild's Kirill Kaprizov: Plays hero Thursday

Kaprizov scored twice on eight shots, added an assist and went plus-3 in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the Red Wings.

Kaprizov's first goal was a power-play tally to tie the game at 1-1 in the first period. He helped out on Mats Zuccarello's equalizer at 6:11 of the third period before scoring the winning goal himself 45 seconds into overtime. Kaprizov is up to 10 points over his last four outings, all of which have been multi-point efforts. He's at 27 goals, 62 points (20 on the power play), 182 shots on net and a plus-10 rating over 52 appearances this season.

  • Canadiens' Sam Montembeault: Allows three goals in loss

Montembault made 13 saves in a 4-2 loss to Buffalo on Thursday. He allowed three goals.

Buffalo scored the first three goals to build a 3-0 lead by the 2:25 mark of the second period. Montembault has started five of Montreal's last 10 games, going 3-1-1 in that span. He has struggled this season to show that his 31-24-7 record, 2.82 GAA and .902 save percentage from last year were replicable. The talent is there -- he's delivered three straight seasons with a save percentage of .901 or above. However, Montembeault has delivered a .871 save percentage in 21 appearances (19 starts) in 2025-26.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Earns third straight win

Gustavsson stopped 30 of 33 shots in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the Red Wings.

Gustavsson picked up his third straight win, though he's allowed 10 goals on 87 shots in that span. The Wild didn't lead in regulation, but they got the win on a Kirill Kaprizov tally in overtime. Gustavsson improved to 17-9-5 with a 2.58 GAA and a .908 save percentage over 32 appearances. The Wild's next game is at home Saturday versus the Panthers, who have been struggling on offense lately, scoring two goals or fewer in eight of their last 11 games.

  • Jake Walman D | EDM

Oilers' Jake Walman: Nets shorthanded goal

Walman scored a shorthanded goal on three shots in Thursday's 6-2 loss to the Penguins.

Walman is heating up on offense with a point in four straight games (one goal, three assists). His tally Thursday was a shortie to get the Oilers on the board in the second period. The 29-year-old defenseman is up to four goals (two shorthanded), 10 assists, 39 shots on net, 41 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating over 23 appearances. He has some scoring upside for a blueliner, but his bottom-four role could lead to inconsistency.

  • Oilers' Matt Savoie: Lights lamp in loss

Savoie scored a goal in Thursday's 6-2 loss to the Penguins.

Savoie has scored two of the Oilers' last three goals over the last two games. The 22-year-old had gone 16 contests without a goal prior to this improved stretch of finishing. He's up to nine goals, 17 points, 68 shots on net, 25 blocked shots and a minus-1 rating over 52 appearances. Currently, Savoie is holding down a third-line role with ice time in all situations, so his recent burst of offense may be a short one.

  • Oilers' Tristan Jarry: Torched by former team

Jarry allowed six goals on 22 shots in Thursday's 6-2 loss to the Penguins.

Jarry started in consecutive games for the first time since his lower-body injury. The results weren't good, as his former teammates had stretches of three goals in 37 seconds in the first period and two goals in 1:58 in the second. This was just his second regulation loss as an Oiler, but it was his worst game of the season. Between Edmonton and Pittsburgh, Jarry has a 13-5-2 record with a 2.78 GAA and a .901 save percentage over 21 outings. It wouldn't be surprising to see Connor Ingram get the nod Saturday versus the Capitals, but the Oilers' crease remains crowded with three goalies on the roster.
