Capitals' Justin Sourdif: Earns two points in loss

Sourdif scored a power-play goal on three shots and added an assist in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Canucks.

Sourdif has been back in the lineup for two games after missing three due to an upper-body injury. The 23-year-old forward is settling in again as a middle-six forward with power-play time, giving him a chance to continue his strong first NHL campaign. He's at 10 goals, 21 points (two on the power play), 63 shots on net, 57 hits, 19 PIM and a plus-12 rating over 47 appearances.

  • Dylan Strome C | WAS

Capitals' Dylan Strome: In on all three goals in loss

Strome scored twice and added an assist in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Canucks.

This was Strome's first multi-point effort since Dec. 29 versus the Panthers. Two of his points came on the power play in this contest. He's picked up three goals and four assists, including five power-play points, over the last six games. For the season, the veteran center has 13 goals, 40 points (14 on the power play), 96 shots on net, 32 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating through 49 appearances.

  • Capitals' Logan Thompson: Tough loss in Vancouver

Thompson allowed four goals on 25 shots in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Canucks.

Considering the opponent, this wasn't a great loss to take for Thompson. It's worse than it looks as well, as the Capitals scored the first two goals of the game before the Canucks worked their way back into it. Thompson has lost three straight games, surrendering 10 goals on 80 shots in that span. He's down to a 17-15-4 record with a 2.43 GAA and a .913 save percentage over 36 starts. The Capitals have a back-to-back on the schedule next, visiting the Flames on Friday and the Oilers on Saturday, so look for Thompson and Charlie Lindgren to split those games.

  • David Kampf C | WAS

Canucks' David Kampf: Pockets pair of helpers

Kampf registered two assists in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Capitals.

Kampf has earned three assists over the last two games after going without a point in his first nine contests in January. The 31-year-old forward continues to fill a middle-six role for the Canucks. He's earned six points, 29 shots on net, 34 hits, 16 blocked shots and a minus-8 rating over 29 appearances since joining Vancouver following the termination of his contract with Toronto in mid-November.

  • Jake DeBrusk LW | VAN

Canucks' Jake DeBrusk: Produces two assists in win

DeBrusk logged two assists, three hits and a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Capitals.

DeBrusk set up goals by Evander Kane and Filip Hronek in this contest. The effort ended a six-game point drought for DeBrusk, who continues to be streaky on offense, which has led to him occasionally moving around the lineup. He's produced 12 goals, 12 helpers, 137 shots on net, 46 hits and a minus-12 rating over 49 appearances this season.

  • Drew O'Connor LW | VAN

Canucks' Drew O'Connor: Nets go-ahead goal

O'Connor scored a goal on four shots, added two hits and went plus-2 in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Capitals.

O'Connor has scored in consecutive contests after going nine games without a goal. The 27-year-old is currently on the second line, which may be helping his production, though he remains without a power-play role. The forward is up to 12 goals, 19 points, 72 shots on net, 38 hits, 22 PIM and a plus-4 rating through 50 appearances. He could push to match his career-best total of 33 points over 79 games in the 2023-24 campaign with the Penguins.

  • Evander Kane LW | VAN

Canucks' Evander Kane: Goals in consecutive games

Kane scored a goal on two shots and added two PIM in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Capitals.

Kane has scored in back-to-back games and has three goals over his last six outings. The 34-year-old's tally tied the game at 2-2 late in the first period. Kane is up to nine goals, 23 points, 120 shots on net, 84 hits, 57 PIM and a minus-18 rating through 49 appearances. He was on the top line Wednesday but has mainly featured in a middle-six role in 2025-26.

  • Filip Hronek D | VAN

Canucks' Filip Hronek: Tickles twine in win

Hronek scored a goal and blocked two shots in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Capitals.

Hronek had gone eight games without a goal, picking up three assists in that span. He remains fairly steady on offense for a team that hasn't exactly been filling the net a lot this season. Hronek now has four goals, 29 points, 69 shots on net, 75 hits, 68 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating across 50 appearances in a top-pairing role.

  • Brock Boeser RW | VAN

Canucks' Brock Boeser: One of each in win

Boeser scored a goal on four shots and added an assist in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Capitals.

Boeser picked up his second multi-point effort of January. He has two goals and five assists over 11 outings this month while maintaining a steady second-line role. Boeser is up to 11 goals, 24 points, 107 shots on net, 29 hits, 20 blocked shots and a minus-29 rating over 48 appearances this season, as he's been prone to some of the struggles that have affected the Canucks as a whole.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Overcomes shaky start

Lankinen stopped 29 of 32 shots in Wednesday's 4-3 over the Capitals.

Lankinen gave up a pair of power-play goals before the 10-minute mark of the first period. Given his recent play, it would have been fair to count him and the Canucks out, but the offense rallied, and Lankinen allowed just one goal the rest of the way to snap a six-game winless stretch. The 30-year-old had allowed 19 goals on 173 shots (.890 save percentage) in that span. He's now at a 7-14-4 record with a 3.39 GAA and an .887 save percentage through 26 appearances this season. The Canucks are back in action at home versus the Devils on Friday.
