Nikolaj Ehlers LW | CAR
Hurricanes' Nikolaj Ehlers: Hat trick in Friday's rout
Ehlers scored three goals, one on the power play, and added a power-play assist in Friday's 9-1 win over the Panthers.
It was the 29-year-old winger's sixth career hat trick, and his first with Carolina. Ehlers opened the scoring late in the first period, then potted two of his team's six tallies in the third period as the Hurricanes broke things open. Ehlers has produced three or more points in three of nine games so far in January, racking up six goals and 12 points on the month.

Brandon Bussi G | CAR
Hurricanes' Brandon Bussi: Cruises to win over Florida
Bussi made 15 saves in Friday's 9-1 rout of the Panthers.
Uvis Balinskis spoiled his shutout bid early in the second period while the outcome was still in doubt, but Bussi never faced more than eight shots in any frame during what proved to be a laugher. The 27-year-old rookie has won four of his last five starts, posting a 2.01 GAA and a .910 save percentage during that hot streak as he holds down the top spot in the Carolina crease.

Sergei Bobrovsky G | FLA
Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: Late collapse in Carolina
Bobrovsky gave up a career-worst nine goals on 35 shots in Friday's 9-1 loss to the Hurricanes.
Carolina dominated play most of the game, outshooting Florida 35-16, but Bobrovsky actually kept things close through two periods before the 'Canes erupted for six goals in the final frame. The outing continues a rough January for the veteran netminder, and Bobrovsky is 2-4-0 over six starts this month with a brutal 4.42 GAA and .810 save percentage.

Flyers' Bobby Brink: Still not active Saturday
Brink (upper body) will sit out his sixth consecutive game Saturday versus the Rangers, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Flyers' Rasmus Ristolainen: Remains unavailable
Ristolainen (upper body) will be unavailable to play against the Rangers on Saturday and won't travel with the Flyers for the team's upcoming three-game road trip, per Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia.
Ristolainen missed the first 31 games of the season after undergoing surgery to repair a triceps tendon rupture in March of 2025. He has played 13 games this season, picking up three assists, 24 blocked shots and 16 hits. Noah Juulsen will probably remain in the lineup during Ristolainen's absence.

Josh Norris C | BUF
Sabres' Josh Norris: Not playing Saturday
Norris (ribs) has been ruled out of Saturday's clash versus Minnesota, according to Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald.
Norris took a cross-check to his ribs Wednesday against the Flyers and will miss his second straight game due to the injury. The talented, but injury-prone center, has six goals and 17 points in 19 games this season. He could return as early as Monday in Carolina.

Ondrej Palat LW | NYI
Devils' Ondrej Palat: Unavailable Saturday
Palat will miss Saturday's tilt versus Carolina with an illness.
The Devils might need to recall a forward ahead of the game, or the team might dress an extra blueliner. Palat had a pair of goals against Minnesota on Monday, marking the first time he lit the lamp in 20 games. He has four goals, six assists and 84 hits across 47 outings this season.
