John Marino D | UTA
Mammoth's John Marino: Picks up two points
Marino scored a goal on two shots, added an assist and went plus-2 in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Stars.
Marino earned his fourth multi-point effort of the season. He set up a Nick Schmaltz tally late in the second period, and Schmaltz returned the favor in the third on Marino's game-winner. With two goals and four assists over his last six outings, Marino's in his best stretch of the season. He's up to four goals, 23 points, 40 shots on net, 45 blocked shots and a plus-26 rating through 48 appearances in what's likely to be a career year.

Nick Schmaltz C | UTA
Mammoth's Nick Schmaltz: One of each in win
Schmaltz scored a goal, added an assist and went plus-2 in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Stars.
Schmaltz opened the scoring late in the second period and also set up John Marino's game-winner in the third. The 29-year-old Schmaltz has five goals and five assists over eight outings in January. For the season, the first-line forward has earned 17 goals, 43 points, 115 shots on net, 31 blocked shots and a plus-10 rating over 48 appearances. He's elevated his play this year and is on track to reach the 70-point mark for the first time.

Ryan Leonard RW | WAS
Capitals' Ryan Leonard: Records another point in defeat
Leonard scored a goal Thursday in a 3-2 loss to the Sharks.
Since returning from a seven-game injury absence on Dec. 23, Leonard has recorded 11 points (three goals, eight assists) in 12 games played. Overall, he has 10 goals, 19 assists and 80 shots in 41 games this season. Leonard's 29 points put him fourth on the rookie scoring list behind Ivan Demidov (40), Beckett Sennecke (35) and Matthew Schaefer (30).

Karel Vejmelka G | UTA
Mammoth's Karel Vejmelka: Sharp in win
Vejmelka allowed one goal on 27 shots in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Stars.
Vejmelka didn't get a ton of help, but he was up to the challenge to earn his fifth straight win. He's allowed just seven goals in that span, though the Stars are by far the toughest opponent he's seen during the streak. For the season, the 29-year-old netminder is up to 22-11-2 with a 2.53 GAA and a .901 save percentage over 36 outings. The Mammoth's next game is a fairly favorable home matchup against the Kraken on Saturday. With no back-to-back sets over the next week, Vejmelka figures to see a fairly steady workload in the near future.

Logan Thompson G | WAS
Capitals' Logan Thompson: Shaky second period leads to loss
Thompson made 23 saves in a 3-2 loss to the Sharks on Thursday.
Thompson and the Capitals wobbled in the second, and the Sharks sank their teeth in. He allowed three goals in a 2:46 span to jump out to a 3-1 lead. Since Christmas, Thompson is 3-4-1 in eight starts, allowing 22 goals in that span. Still, he remains one of the NHL's best with a 2.36 GAA and .915 save percentage in 34 starts (17-13-4).

Alex Nedeljkovic G | SJ
Sharks' Alex Nedeljkovic: Third straight win
Nedeljkovic made 21 saves in a 3-2 win over Washington on Thursday.
It was Ned's third consecutive win. He's 8-8-2 with a 3.06 GAA and .891 save percentage in 17 starts (21 appearances). Nedeljkovic is the clear number two in San Jose, but he has been alternating with Yaroslav Askarov since the calendar flipped to 2026. He's worth a pick-up given his current success, especially in daily leagues.

Anthony Duclair LW | NYI
Islanders' Anthony Duclair: Nets lone goal in win
Duclair scored a power-play goal on two shots in Thursday's 1-0 win over the Oilers.
Duclair has five goals and two assists over his last five points. His tally Thursday at 13:42 of the third period broke a scoreless deadlock, and it was all the help Ilya Sorokin needed to get the win. Duclair is up to a total of nine goals, 20 points (three on the power play), 55 shots on net, 26 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating over 44 appearances. The 30-year-old winger is starting to get consistent top-six minutes, which is paying off for now. Fantasy managers can consider Duclair a decent speculative add while his offense is hot.

Ilya Sorokin G | NYI
Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Perfect against Oilers
Sorokin posted a 35-save shutout in Thursday's 1-0 win over the Oilers.
Sorokin was given a vote of confidence from head coach Patrick Roy to make this start after giving up five goals to the Jets on Tuesday. That faith was rewarded as Sorokin secured his league-leading fifth shutout of the campaign while snapping Connor McDavid's 20-game point streak in the process. The 30-year-old Sorokin has won three of his last four games and is up to 15-11-2 with a 2.47 GAA and a .915 save percentage over 28 starts. If he gets the start Saturday in Calgary, he'd have a favorable matchup, though it's a matinee game that Roy might want to give to the former Flame, David Rittich, instead.

Zack Ostapchuk C | SJ
Sharks' Zack Ostapchuk: Third goal in last eight games
Ostapchuk scored a goal Thursday in a 3-2 win over the Capitals. He also laid down four hits.
Ostapchuk is a guy who makes a bigger impact in the hit category than anything else, but he has sniped three times in his last eight games. Overall, he has three goals, one assist and 63 hits in 24 games this season. Ostapchuk is averaging under 10 minutes a game while centering the Sharks' fourth line.

Connor Ingram G | EDM
Oilers' Connor Ingram: On wrong end of narrow shutout loss
Ingram stopped 17 of 18 shots in Thursday's 1-0 loss to the Islanders.
Ingram put forth a good effort, but Anthony Duclair's power-play goal at 13:42 of the third period was the difference. The 28-year-old Ingram has gone 2-2-1 while allowing 13 goals on 133 shots over his last five outings. He's provided fairly steady goaltending recently, but Ingram's playing time is still likely to decrease now that Tristan Jarry is back from a lower-body injury. Ingram is 4-3-1 with a 2.49 GAA and a .907 save percentage over eight starts. At this point, he's likely playing to try to force the Oilers to waive Calvin Pickard (3.68 GAA/.871 save percentage in 16 games). With a back-to-back over the weekend, Ingram may get to play either Saturday in Vancouver or Sunday at home versus the Blues.
