Golden Knights' Carter Hart: Slated to start Saturday

Hart is expected to start at home against Carolina in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals on Saturday, per Tracey Myers of NHL.com.

Hart saw his seven-game winning streak come to an end when he stopped 22 of 26 shots en route to a 4-3 overtime loss to Carolina on Thursday. Hart has a 13-5 record, 2.41 GAA and .915 save percentage in 18 playoff outings this year. While he's had a strong postseason run, he's allowed four goals in each of the first two games of the finals.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Expected to start in Game 3

Andersen is slated to guard the road goal versus the Golden Knights in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals on Saturday.

Andersen looks set to continue his run as the Hurricanes' starter after helping the team to a comeback win in Game 2. He stopped 23 of 26 shots in Game 2 and has won five of his last six outings. Andersen has allowed eight goals on 49 shots over two contests against the Golden Knights, but he showed an ability to lock in later in the Eastern Conference Finals versus the Canadiens and will try to do that again.

  • Avalanche's Tristen Nielsen: Nets two goals Friday

Nielsen scored twice in AHL Colorado's 7-3 win over Chicago in Game 5 on Friday.

Nielsen helped the Eagles get one win away from the Calder Cup Finals with his early pair of goals. He has totaled 10 goals and 15 points over 15 appearances in the Eagles' postseason run after a career-best 49-point effort in 66 regular-season outings.

  • Blues' Georgi Romanov: Secures multi-year, two-way deal

Romanov signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Blues on Friday.

After signing with the Blues in October of 2025, Romanov has now secured a multi-year extension after playing exclusively with AHL Springfield on a one-year, two-way contract. Across 28 regular-season appearances, he posted a 9-12-3 record, an .896 save percentage and a 3.29 GAA. The 26-year-old netminder offered a mixed bag of results over 10 regular-season appearances with the Sharks across the 2023-24 and 2024-25 campaigns. He could find his way to the NHL with the Blues if the team opts to trade away Jordan Binnington, who is coming off a down year and was in the heart of trade rumors during the 2026 trade deadline.

  • Marcus Johansson: Headed back to Sweden

Johansson agreed to terms on a contract with Swedish club Farjestad BK on Friday.

Johansson played for Farjestad back in 2009-10 before he made the jump to North America. Selected by the Capitals with the 24th overall pick in the 2009 NHL Draft, the veteran winger spent 16 seasons in the NHL, racking up 200 goals and 366 assists in 1,058 regular-season tilts for six different clubs. Coming off a 15-goal, 34-assist campaign, Johansson almost certainly would have had NHL offers when free agency opened July 1.

  • Islanders' Marshall Warren: Inks one-year deal

Warren signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Islanders on Friday.

Warren saw action in eight regular-season games for the Isles this year, recording three assists, seven shots and seven hits while averaging 11:29 of ice time. With several defensemen out of contract this summer, there could be an open spot on the blue line heading into Opening Night of the 2026-27 campaign.

  • Golden Knights' Brayden McNabb: Traveling home with team

McNabb (face) will travel back home with the team ahead of Game 3 against the Hurricanes on Saturday, Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press reports.

McNabb has appeared in 17 postseason games for Vegas in 2026, registering one goal, six assists and 18 shots while averaging 19:59 of ice time. If the blueliner misses out on Game 3, then Kaedan Korczak would likely step back into the lineup after being a healthy scratch for the last two games.

  • Golden Knights' Noah Hanifin: Plucks apple in loss

Hanifin logged an assist and four blocked shots in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Hurricanes in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Hanifin snapped a five-game point drought with the helper. He's been held to just two assists over 12 contests since the start of the second round, though Hanifin continues to offer quality play in a shutdown role. He has a total of seven assists, 23 shots on net, 17 hits, 38 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating over 18 playoff outings.

  • Golden Knights' Mitch Marner: Notches two helpers in loss

Marner logged two assists and three shots on goal in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Hurricanes in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Marner has gone six games without a goal but still has six helpers in that span. He set up Brett Howden's first goal and Mark Stone's third-period equalizer in this contest. Marner leads the postseason with 24 points (seven goals, 17 assists) while adding 43 shots on net and a plus-13 rating over 18 appearances. A strong showing over the remainder of this series should give him a good chance to win the Conn Smythe Trophy.

  • Mark Stone RW | LV

Golden Knights' Mark Stone: Forces overtime Thursday

Stone scored a goal on three shots and blocked two shots in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Hurricanes in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Stone has three goals and an assist over four games since he returned from a lower-body injury that cost him five contests. His tally Thursday came with 1:21 left in the third period, forcing overtime, though the Golden Knights lost anyway. Stone is up to six goals, five assists, 26 shots, 21 hits and a plus-1 rating over 13 playoff appearances. He's still a bit limited, though his 19:57 of ice time in Game 2 was his highest total since Game 5 of the first round, which was a double-overtime win over the Mammoth.
