  • Oliver Bonk D | PHI

Flyers' Oliver Bonk: Returns to AHL

Bonk was reassigned to AHL Lehigh Valley on Thursday.

Bonk was up with the Flyers to practice with the team during the Olympic break, and he's returning to the minors without making his NHL debut. The 21-year-old has two goals and six points in 22 outings with Lehigh Valley in 2025-26.

  • Flyers' Carson Bjarnason: Sent back to minors

Bjarnason was loaned to AHL Lehigh Valley on Thursday.

Bjarnason was called up by the Flyers on Tuesday, but he'll head back to the minors a few days later, which should allow him to appear in the Phantoms' weekend series against Hershey. It's not yet clear whether Bjarnason will have more opportunities to practice with Philadelphia to close out the Olympic break, but he's unlikely to be on the Flyers' roster when they resume play.

  • Dominik Shine RW | DET

Red Wings' Dominik Shine: Returns to minors

Shine was reassigned to AHL Grand Rapids on Thursday.

Shine ended up spending less than a day with the NHL club. The Red Wings are off until next Thursday's game in Ottawa, but Shine's short stint at the top level allowed him to join Detroit for a team practice. The 32-year-old has 21 goals and 36 points in 35 outings with AHL Grand Rapids in 2025-26.

  • Red Wings' Sheldon Dries: Returned to AHL

Dries was sent to AHL Grand Rapids on Thursday.

Dries was recalled earlier in the day and practiced with the Red Wings before returning to AHL Grand Rapids. He has 18 goals and 16 assists across 40 AHL appearances this season.

  • Kings' Erik Portillo: Called up from AHL

Portillo was summoned from AHL Ontario on Thursday.

The Kings need two goaltenders at practice, and with Darcy Kuemper with Team Canada at the Winter Olympics the team recalled Portillo to participate in practice with Anton Forsberg. Portillo has starred with the AHL Reign this season, posting a 13-3-1 mark with a 2.45 GAA and a .905 save percentage across 19 appearances.

  • Blackhawks' Jason Dickinson: Exits Thursday's practice early

Dickinson left Thursday's practice session early due to an illness, Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Dickinson has missed just one game since mid-November, and he's recorded six goals, seven assists, 45 hits, 33 blocked shots and 10 PIM while averaging 15:43 of ice time over 43 appearances this season. The Blackhawks don't resume play until Feb. 26 against the Predators, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Dickinson recover in time to suit up for that matchup.

  • Flyers' Garnet Hathaway: Dealing with illness

Hathaway didn't participate in Thursday's practice session due to an illness, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Hathaway has appeared in 47 games for the Flyers this year, recording a goal, an assist, 183 hits, 52 PIM and 35 blocked shots while averaging 10:17 of ice time. He'll have nearly a week to recover before Philadelphia faces Washington on Wednesday, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him available for that matchup.

  • Predators' Matt Murray: Called up by Nashville

Murray was recalled from AHL Milwaukee on Thursday.

The Predators have resumed practicing during the final week of the Olympic break, and Murray's recall will allow him to serve as the team's goaltender during practice until Juuse Saros returns from the Olympics. However, Murray will presumably head back to the Admirals ahead of Nashville's game against Chicago on Feb. 26. Over 29 appearances with Milwaukee this year, Murray has gone 12-14-2 with a 2.86 GAA and .904 save percentage.

  • Sean Monahan C | CLB

Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Back at practice Thursday

Monahan (illness) returned to practice Thursday after missing Wednesday's skate, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports.

Monahan had a lackluster start to the season, tallying 10 goals and 17 assists in 52 appearances this season. The 31-year-old managed 19 goals and 57 points in 52 games during the 2024-25 regular season.

  • Juuse Saros G | NSH

Predators' Juuse Saros: Beaten twice but earns OT win

Saros stopped 21 of 23 shots in Finland's 3-2 overtime win over Switzerland in the Olympic quarterfinals Wednesday.

Saros allowed two goals in the first period, with both goals coming within a span of 1:26, but he was excellent the rest of the way. Saros is expected to remain the starter for Finland in a tough matchup against Canada on Friday in the semifinals.
