Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Starting against Vegas
Dostal will start Sunday's home game against the Golden Knights, Derek Lee of The Hockey News reports.
Dostal's six-game winning streak came to an end during an unlucky loss in Vancouver on Thursday in which he turned aside 24 of 25 shots. The 25-year-old has posted a 1.81 GAA and .934 save percentage over his last seven starts. He made a home start against Vegas on Nov. 22, allowing three goals on 32 shots in a 4-3 overtime victory.

Samuel Helenius C | LA
Kings' Samuel Helenius: Tallies in overtime loss
Helenius scored a goal in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Hurricanes.
Helenius got the Kings on the board at 13:21 of the third period. The 23-year-old has earned two goals and two assists over his last six outings, which is solid work for a fourth-line forward. He's up to five points, 17 shots on net, 66 hits, 29 PIM and an even plus-minus rating across 27 appearances this season.

Quinton Byfield C | LA
Kings' Quinton Byfield: Forces overtime Sunday
Byfield scored a goal and added two hits in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Hurricanes.
Byfield was directly responsible for two standings points this weekend. He scored the game-winner in overtime Saturday versus the Flyers and followed it up with a goal Sunday to force overtime. The 23-year-old has 11 tallies on the season, but he's scored seven of them over 18 contests since the holiday break. Byfield has added 19 helpers, 110 shots on net, 39 hits, 29 blocked shots and a minus-5 rating over 53 appearances.

Anton Forsberg G | LA
Kings' Anton Forsberg: Takes overtime loss
Forsberg stopped 31 of 34 shots in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Hurricanes.
Forsberg gave up the first two goals of the game, but the Kings picked him up with a pair of tallies 3:28 apart late in the third period. Sebastian Aho denied Forsberg the win at 1:25 of overtime. Despite the defeat, Forsberg hasn't lost in regulation in his last six outings, allowing just 10 goals on 153 shots in that span. For the season, the 33-year-old netminder has done pretty well with a 9-6-5 record, a 2.50 GAA and a .910 save percentage through 21 contests. He should get another start in a back-to-back before the Olympic break, as the Kings host the Kraken on Wednesday before visiting the Golden Knights on Thursday.

Shayne Gostisbehere D | CAR
Hurricanes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Dishes two assists in overtime win
Gostisbehere notched two assists, including one on the power play, in Sunday's 3-2 overtime win over the Kings.
Gostisbehere has three goals and three helpers over three games since he returned from a lower-body injury. The 32-year-old helped out on Jordan Staal's opening goal and Sebastian Aho's game-winner. Gostisbehere has been excellent when healthy, racking up nine goals, 29 helpers, 13 power-play points, 80 shots on net, 44 blocked shots and a plus-10 rating through 38 appearances. He should benefit from the Olympic break to get some rest, assuming he stays healthy through the last two games prior to the break.

Jordan Staal C | CAR
Hurricanes' Jordan Staal: Buries power-play goal
Staal scored a power-play goal on two shots in Sunday's 3-2 overtime win over the Kings.
Staal has three goals and an assist over his last five games. His tally at 6:25 of the first period was his first power-play contribution since he scored with the man advantage in consecutive games Dec. 7-9. The 37-year-old center is up to 13 goals -- matching his regular-season total from last year -- while adding 11 assists, 72 shots on net, 103 hits, 28 blocked shots, 25 PIM and a plus-2 rating over 52 appearances.

Alexander Nikishin D | CAR
Hurricanes' Alexander Nikishin: Pots goal Sunday
Nikishin scored a goal on two shots in Sunday's 3-2 overtime win over the Kings.
Nikishin has earned two goals, six points, 21 shots on net, 19 hits and 11 blocked shots over his last 12 outings. The defenseman's third-period tally Sunday put the Hurricanes ahead 2-0, though the Kings got on the board just 24 seconds later. Nikishin is up to seven goals, 22 points, 86 shots, 99 hits, 62 blocked shots and a plus-10 rating over 54 appearances this season.

Tanner Laczynski C | LV
Golden Knights' Tanner Laczynski: Elevated from minors
Laczynski was recalled from AHL Henderson on Sunday.
Laczynski will provide depth for Vegas up front, as the team had only 12 healthy forwards prior to the 28-year-old's promotion. The 2016 sixth-round pick leads the Silver Knights in scoring this season with 13 goals and 36 points over 33 outings.

Sebastian Aho LW | CAR
Hurricanes' Sebastian Aho: Scores game-winner in overtime
Aho scored a goal on five shots in Sunday's 3-2 overtime win over the Kings.
Aho wasn't able to save the Hurricanes in Saturday's overtime loss to the Capitals, but he kept them from hitting the skids after another blown lead. The 28-year-old tallied 1:25 into the extra session for his 19th goal and third game-winner this season. Prior to scoring in consecutive contests, Aho had gone 12 games without a goal, a span in which he logged 10 assists. For the season, he's at 54 points, 126 shots, 49 hits and a plus-10 rating over 55 appearances.

Brandon Bussi G | CAR
Hurricanes' Brandon Bussi: Light workload in overtime win
Bussi stopped 11 of 13 shots in Sunday's 3-2 overtime win over the Kings.
Bussi didn't have his best performance, but he was able to earn his fifth straight win. He's faced fewer than 20 shots in three of those victories, as the Hurricanes have their preferred defense rolling in strong form. Bussi improved to 21-3-1 with a 2.21 GAA and a .905 save percentage through 25 starts this season. The 27-year-old has mostly shared the crease with Frederik Andersen lately, so it wouldn't be surprising if the two goalies split the last two games before the Olympic break. The Hurricanes host the Senators on Tuesday before visiting the Rangers on Thursday.
