  • Predators' Justus Annunen: Drawing start Thursday

Annunen will defend the road crease against New Jersey on Thursday, Mike Morreale of NHL.com reports.

Annunen has seen limited playing time in recent weeks, but he'll tend the twine Thursday after sitting out the Predators' last three games. He's made three appearances in January, going 1-1-0 with a 3.51 GAA and .889 save percentage.

  • Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Set to face Boston

Ersson is set to start on the road against Boston on Thursday.

Ersson has allowed at least three goals in five of his past six outings. He's 8-9-5 with a 3.39 GAA and an .860 save percentage in 23 appearances this season. He'll be up against the red-hot Bruins, who are 11-2-1 across their past 13 outings while averaging 4.00 goals per game over that span.

  • Lukas Dostal G | ANA

Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Tending twine against Vancouver

Dostal will start Thursday's road game against Vancouver, Derek Lee of The Hockey News reports.

Dostal sat out the second half of a back-to-back set Monday in Edmonton, but he'll return to the crease Thursday for the fifth time in the Ducks' past six games. He's in the midst of a six-game winning streak in which he's posted a 1.93 GAA and .931 save percentage.

  • Troy Terry RW | ANA

Ducks' Troy Terry: Not yet ready to return

Terry (upper body) will miss Thursday's game against Vancouver, per Kevin Woodley of NHL.com.

Terry took part in Wednesday's practice, but he ended up feeling a little sore, so he'll take some more time to recover. The 28-year-old hasn't been in the lineup since Jan. 6 due to the injury. He has 13 goals and 42 points in 43 outings in 2025-26, and he should slot back into a top-six role once he's healthy.

  • Red Wings' Simon Edvinsson: Placed on injured reserve

Edvinsson (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Thursday.

The Red Wings announced Monday that Edvinsson had been ruled out through the Olympic break, so his placement on injured reserve is simply procedural. Justin Holl and Sheldon Dries were called up Thursday to provide additional depth in Edvinsson's absence. Across 48 appearances this year, Edvinsson has accumulated six goals, 11 assists, 104 blocked shots, 63 hits and 54 PIM while averaging 22:35 of ice time.

  • Red Wings' Sheldon Dries: Called up by Detroit

Dries was recalled from AHL Grand Rapids on Thursday.

Dries spent nearly a week with the NHL club earlier in January, but he hasn't yet appeared in a game for the Red Wings this season. However, Dries and Justin Holl were recalled Thursday to provide additional depth ahead of the Olympic break after Simon Edvinsson (lower body) was placed on injured reserve.

  • Justin Holl D | STL

Red Wings' Justin Holl: Recalled Thursday

Holl was recalled from AHL Grand Rapids on Thursday.

Simon Edvinsson (lower body) isn't expected to be available until after the Olympic break and was put on injured reserve in a corresponding move, so calling up Holl gives the Red Wings another healthy blueliner. The 33-year-old Holl has two goals and 10 points in 31 outings with Grand Rapids this season. He has 396 career regular-season appearances in the NHL, but he hasn't played at the top level yet this season.

  • Ross Colton C | COL

Avalanche's Ross Colton: Ready to return

Colton (lower body) is good to play Thursday in Montreal, per Conor McGahey of Altitude TV.

Colton missed three straight games due to the injury. He has five goals and 20 points in 48 appearances in 2025-26. Colton's return is expected to result in Taylor Makar being a healthy scratch Thursday.

  • Sabres' Jordan Greenway: Set to miss another game

Greenway (lower body) is slated to miss Thursday's game against the Kings, NHL.com reports.

Greenway has been on a load management plan recently after his sports hernia surgery that he underwent during the offseason, and he'll be unavailable for a third consecutive game. It's not yet clear when he'll return to action, but his next opportunity to do so will be Saturday against Montreal.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: In goal versus Kraken

Stolarz will get the starting nod for Thursday's road clash with Seattle, Luke Fox of Sportsnet reports.

In his first game back from a long-term, upper-body injury, Stolarz gave up five goals on 30 shots (.833 save percentage). It was a less-than-stellar performance, but getting the netminder some work before the Olympic break certainly makes sense. The Maple Leafs head into a back-to-back versus Calgary and Edmonton on Monday and Tuesday, respectively, so Stolarz figures to get one of those games as well.
