To make room for him on the 26-man roster, LHP Kyle Backhus was optioned to LHV following last night’s game. -

Incredibly, this is the first time the Phillies have won the first game of a series in San Francisco since 2014 (Ken Giles got the W in that one). They haven't won a series here since 2013.
