Anthony DiComo@AnthonyDiComo2H agoSean Manaea has allowed three more runs (two earned) today, walking in a run in the seventh. Manaea's ERA is up to 6.75. The Mets have been hesitant to pitch him in all but the lowest-leverage spots, which hasn't helped. But they still owe him around $43 million guaranteed.

Now, the Mets will ask Sean Manaea to pitch with two men on base in a tie game. It's Manaea's first appearance in a week.

The Mets are trying to get him to a place where he can play through the discomfort. "Hopefully it goes away," Mendoza said, "but it's probably something he's going to have to manage."
