Yankees' Dan Jennings: Lands minors deal from Yankees
Jennings signed a minor-league contract with the Yankees on Monday.
The Yankees assigned Jennings to short-season Staten Island, but he'll presumably make a handful of appearances in the lower levels of the minors before moving up to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The 32-year-old lefty previously made eight appearances at the big-league level with the Nationals this season, giving up seven runs over 4.2 innings before being designated for assignment in May.

Dan Jennings: Elects free agency
Jennings has elected free agency, Brittany Ghiroli of The Athletic reports.
He was recently designated for assignment by the Nationals, which was not to his liking, so he will hope a better opportunity emerges on the open market. He had some success with the Brewers last season, but would be confined to a low-leverage role no matter where he latches on.

Nationals' Dan Jennings: Loses roster spot
The Nationals designated Jennings for assignment Monday, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.
Jennings will cede his 40-man roster spot to waiver pickup Javy Guerra and his spot on the active roster to Tony Sipp (oblique), who was activated from the 10-day injured list. Valued as a lefty specialist for much of his career, Jennings has allowed eight of the 18 left-handed hitters he has faced this season to reach base.

Nationals' Dan Jennings: Picks up first win as Nat
Jennings (1-2) struck out two in a perfect fifth inning Thursday to record the win over the Mets.
Entering the game with the score knotted at 4-4, the veteran southpaw breezed through the top of the Mets' order before the Nats took the lead for good in the bottom half of the frame. Jennings has made seven appearances since joining the club and been scored upon in four of them, saddling him with an 11.25 ERA, and his low-leverage role leaves him with little fantasy ceiling even if he does turn things around.

Nationals' Dan Jennings: Contract selected by Nationals
Jennings' contract was purchased from Double-A Harrisburg on Tuesday.
Jennings linked up with the Nationals in mid-April after failing to break camp with the Angels. The veteran lefty posted a 3.22 ERA in 64.1 innings for the Brewers last season and has a 2.96 career ERA over his seven-year career. Austin Adams was designated for assignment to clear a space for Jennings on the 40-man roster.

Nationals' Dan Jennings: Links up with Nationals
Jennings signed a minor-league contract with the Nationals on Monday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
Jennings has found a new home after being cut loose by the Angels prior to the start of the season. The veteran left-hander will head to extended spring training for the time being but is a candidate to join the Nationals' bullpen once he's deemed ready. Across 64.1 innings with the Brewers last year, Jennings notched a 3.22 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 45:23 K:BB.

Angels' Dan Jennings: Signs with Angels
Jennings signed a minor-league deal with the Angels that includes an invitation to major-league spring training, Robert Murray of The Athletic reports.
Jennings posted a 3.22 ERA and 1.38 WHIP over 72 appearances with the Brewers in 2018, but the team declined to tender him a contract and he subsequently hit free agency. The 31-year-old is likely to serve as a left-handed specialist as he allowed a .320/.399/.528 slash line to right-handed hitters in 2018, though his career splits aren't quite so extreme.

Dan Jennings: Set for free agency
Jennings will not be tendered a contract for the 2019 season from Milwaukee, Robert Murray of The Athletic reports.
The Brewers have decided to move on from Jennings after just one season, during which he recorded a 3.22 ERA and 1.38 WHIP with a 6.3 K/9 across 72 appearances. The left-hander was somewhat of a forgotten man in the team's bullpen, as manager Craig Counsell only utilized him for a total of 17 innings after the All-Star break due to the success of his other relievers. Jennings will likely be able to find a new home and serve as a quality option against left-handed hitting in 2019.

Brewers' Dan Jennings: Gets job done
Jennings started Monday's victory over the Cardinals and retired the first batter of the game before being removed from the contest.
Manager Craig Counsell chose to start Jennings in an attempt to neutralize the lefty-swinging Matt Carpenter in his first at-bat, and Jennings was able to get the job done. With a string of right-handed hitters following Carpenter, Jennings was then removed after that in favor of righty Freddy Peralta. Given the plan worked there's a chance Jennings could be used similarly before the regular season comes to a close, but otherwise expect him to continue working in middle relief.

Brewers' Dan Jennings: Set to start Monday
Jennings will get the start in Monday's game against the Cardinals.
The Brewers announced Sunday that they intended to get through Monday's game without a traditional starting pitcher, and it's now clear they will now do just that, as Jennings will start for the first time in his career. While Jennings will be on the mound the first time the Cardinals bat Monday night, he figures to work no more than an inning or two, and could realistically be pulled from the game at any point based on the lineup St. Louis chooses to employ.

Brewers' Dan Jennings: Back in action
Jennings (ankle) allowed a go-ahead hit to the only batter he faced in Saturday's loss to the Nationals.
Jennings was brought in to face the Nationals' Juan Soto with a one-run lead, but he was not able to retire him and was removed before facing another batter. Jennings has taken the mound twice since injuring his ankle Thursday, so he appears to have put the setback behind him.

Brewers' Dan Jennings: Earns first save
Jennings pitched two perfect innings in Thursday's 7-2 win over Atlanta, striking out two and picking up a save.
It was the only save opportunity Jennings has seen in 2018 and he likely won't see them very often. Corey Knebel had pitched the last three days so he was likely unavailable in this contest. Jennings owns a 3.38 ERA in 42.2 innings on the year.

Brewers' Dan Jennings: Throws two innings Monday
Jennings tossed two innings of scoreless relief in Monday's victory over the Twins.
Jennings seemed happy to put June in the past after allowing nine earned runs over 13 innings (6.23 ERA) out of Milwaukee's bullpen. He still owns a respectable 3.54 ERA on the season, and is working mainly in middle relief like he has all year.
