  • Padres' Manny Machado: Blasts fifth homer

Machado went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 4-3 win over the White Sox.

Machado gave the Padres a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning with his blast. The third baseman had gone three games without a multi-hit effort after leaving Monday's game versus the Cubs due to a leg issue. He played all three games against the White Sox at third base, so he appears to be fine at this point. For the season, the 33-year-old is up to five homers, 18 RBI, 19 runs scored, one stolen base and four doubles over 31 contests, and he's hitting .229 with a .742 OPS.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Back in lineup at designated hitter

Machado (leg) will start at designated hitter and bat third in Wednesday's game against the Cubs.

Machado didn't play Tuesday after exiting Monday's contest when he tweaked his leg. He's feeling well enough to DH in Wednesday's series finale and could return to third base this weekend. Miguel Andujar will play the hot corner Wednesday for the Padres.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Exits as precaution

Manager Craig Stammen said after Monday's game against the Cubs that Machado is "fine" and was removed from the contest as a precautionary move, Marty Caswell of Foul Territyory reports.

The veteran third baseman came out of the batter's box awkwardly and wasn't moving well down the line in the sixth inning Monday, so the Padres elected to lift him from the contest after he went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three runs scored. Stammen didn't mention a specific injury but indicated Machado's lower half wasn't feeling great after a couple of slides into second base. He should be considered day-to-day heading into Tuesday's matchup with Chicago.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Out of Tuesday's lineup

Machado (leg) isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cubs.

Machado made an early exit from Monday's game due to a leg injury, and although manager Craig Stammen said after the game that the 33-year-old third baseman is fine, the Padres will keep him on the bench Tuesday as a precaution. Jake Cronenworth will make his first career start at the hot corner as a result, moving Fernando Tatis to second base and giving Bryce Johnson a start in right field.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Exits with injury

Machado left Monday's game against the Cubs with an unspecified injury, 97.3 The Fan reports.

Machado left the matchup after grounding out to end the bottom of the sixth inning. He made it about halfway up the line before turning around and walking slowly off the field. The nature of Machado's injury is unclear at this time, so he can be considered day-to-day until the club has another update to share.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Blasts two homers in loss

Machado went 2-for-5 with two homers and five RBI in Sunday's 12-7 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Machado took advantage of the hitter-friendly backdrop at Estadio Alfredo Harp Helu, launching a two-run homer in the third inning before adding a three-run shot in the fifth frame, both off Ryne Nelson. Although the Padres ultimately lost, it was a much-needed offensive outburst for the third baseman, who entered Sunday's contest with a .615 OPS. The 33-year-old is now slashing .209/.327/.363 with four homers, 16 RBI and 15 runs through 26 games in 2026.

Machado went 1-for-1 with two RBI and two walks in Sunday's 7-2 win over Colorado.

Machado opened the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the first inning before later delivering an opposite-field single in the fifth frame for his second RBI of the day. After a slow start to the season, the star third baseman has been a run-producing force of late, recording two RBI in each of his past two games and driving in nine runs over his past seven contests.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Belts long ball Saturday

Machado went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run against the Rockies in a 9-5 victory Saturday.

Machado's third-inning, two-run blast pulled the Padres to within a run after Colorado built a big early lead. The star third baseman has struggled to get his bat going, hitting just .193 through 14 games, so he'll look to Saturday's homer to spark a hot streak. Machado does have a 13:12 BB:K this season, and he's managed to get on base at a .367 clip despite the low batting average.
