  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Will be World Series regular

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Hernandez will be in the lineup every day during the World Series, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports. He's starting in center field and batting sixth in Game 1. His position may change from game to game, but Hernandez should remain in the Dodgers' lineup for each of the Fall Classic games. He's slashing .303/.378/.485 with two homers this postseason and has slugged 15 home runs over 81 career playoff contests.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Starting at third base for Game 6

Hernandez will start at third base and bat sixth for Game 6 of the NLCS against the Mets on Sunday, Noah Camras of DodgersNation.com reports. With Freddie Freeman (ankle) out of the starting lineup for Game 6, Hernandez will serve at the hot corner while Max Muncy shifts to first base against Mets left-hander Sean Manaea. Through the first five games of the NLCS, Hernandez has gone 6-for-20 with two walks, one home run and three RBI.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Starting in center field Friday

Hernandez will start in center field and bat seventh Friday in Game 5 of the NLDS against the Padres, Kirsten Watson of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports. Miguel Rojas (thigh) is absent from the lineup, as expected, and the Dodgers will shift Tommy Edman to shortstop while Hernandez occupies center field. Hernandez started at third base in Game 4 and went 2-for-4 with a run scored.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Blasts homer in win

Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in Sunday's win over the Rockies. Hernandez went deep to left center in the seventh to bring the Dodgers within two runs of the Rockies. He now has two homers and five RBI in his last four games, which has accounted for all of his RBI since Aug. 27. He continues to work in a platoon at second base with Gavin Lux, but Hernandez was awarded the start Sunday at third after Max Muncy was scratched due to side soreness. If Muncy were to be held out more during the week, Hernandez could pick up a few extra starts.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Crushes three-run homer

Hernandez went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in an 8-4 victory over the Marlins on Wednesday. Hernandez capped a big fourth inning for the Dodgers with a 430-foot, three-run blast. The long ball was his first over his past 16 contests, and the trio of RBI were his first runs batted in over that span. Hernandez has been working in a platoon with Gavin Lux at second base -- the former has started four of Los Angeles' past five games against southpaw starters while Lux has been getting all of the starts against right-handers.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Platooning with Lux

Hernandez will start at second base and bat ninth in Monday's game against Atlanta, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports. Hernandez will occupy second base for the second time in three games, with both of his starts coming against left-handed pitchers. He appears to have emerged as the preferred platoon partner at the keystone for the left-handed-hitting Gavin Lux.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Homers in Sunday's win

Hernandez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Rays. Hernandez scored the game's first run with a solo blast to center off Jacob Lopez in the fifth. He's now homered in back-to-back starts after having just one homer since July 21 and has seven RBI in his last eight starts. For the year, the 33-year-old is slashing .215/.276/.350 with nine homers, 33 RBI, 33 runs and a 26:67 BB:K in 326 plate appearances.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Slugs game-tying homer

Hernandez went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run in Friday's 7-3 win over the Rays. The Dodgers were behind early, but Hernandez went deep in the fifth inning off Rays starter Tyler Alexander to tie the game at 3-3. Hernandez went 7-for-32 (.219) over 10 contests between his two most recent homers, and this was his fourth multi-hit effort over 18 games in August. The utility man is now slashing .215/.276/.341 with eight homers, 32 RBI, 32 runs scored and no stolen bases over 100 games this season. Friday was the first time the Dodgers have faced a southpaw starter since Max Muncy was activated from the injured list Monday, so it's possible Hernandez could still find his way into the lineup versus southpaws with some regularity.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Posts three-hit day

Hernandez went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Pirates. Hernandez posted his second three-hit game this month. He came up big in the 10th with a leadoff double to tie the game before eventually coming around to score the winning run. Over his last nine games, Hernandez is slashing .333/.405/.545 with seven RBI, six runs and a 4:4 BB:K. He's reached base safely in all but one game over that span. For the year, the 32-year-old is slashing .214/.281/.338 with seven homers, 26 RBI, 30 runs and a 25:63 BB:K in 292 plate appearances.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Excels as hitter, pitcher Saturday

Hernandez went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, two runs and two RBI in Saturday's 10-0 win over Oakland. He also pitched one inning, giving up a hit and no runs. Hernandez was part of a late-game explosion by Los Angeles' offense, as he doubled home a run in the eighth inning and added another RBI on a single in the ninth. Those contributions helped the Dodgers build a 10-0 lead, and manager Dave Roberts consequently let Hernandez pitch the ninth. He did well in lobbing pitches to A's hitters, giving up a two-out double but nothing more. Hernandez has gone 4-for-7 with two walks over the first two games of the weekend set versus Oakland.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Records three hits Thursday

Hernandez went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Thursday's 6-4 win against the Giants. Hernandez opened the scoring in the contest with a second-inning RBI single and added a run-scoring double in the fourth. The utility man has hit safely in four of his past six games and is slashing .318/.318/.545 with a home run, four RBI and four runs over that span. With the Dodgers' infield decimated by injuries to Mookie Betts (hand), Max Muncy (oblique), Miguel Rojas (forearm) and Chris Taylor (groin), Hernandez has had an opportunity to play nearly every day. He's started at shortstop or third base in each of Los Angeles' past five contests.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Pivotal in win

Hernandez went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's extra-innings win over Boston. Hernandez didn't enter the contest until he was put in to pinch hit for Gavin Lux in the seventh inning, though the former would make his presence felt, launching a leadoff homer in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game at 4-4. The utility man added an RBI single in his third at-bat to tie the game again in extra innings, giving him his first multi-hit performance this month. Hernandez has now homered twice in his last eight at-bats, though his average still sits at just .198 on the season.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Goes deep Saturday

Hernandez went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Saturday's extra-inning loss to Detroit. Hernandez gave Los Angeles an 8-4 lead with his two-run blast in the seventh inning, but the Tigers later rallied to secure the victory. Even with Max Muncy (oblique) and Mookie Betts (hand) on the IL, Hernandez has been a part-time player, starting four of Los Angeles' past seven contests. Saturday's long ball was his first of July, and he's gone 1-for-21 over 10 games this month.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Tallies three hits in loss

Hernandez went 3-for-4 with a double and a run Sunday in a loss to San Francisco. Hernandez accounted for three of the Dodgers' eight hits in the contest as he recorded his first multi-hit performance since May 29. The utility man has remained an inconsistent part of the team's lineup despite injuries to Max Muncy (oblique) and Mookie Betts (wrist). Hernandez has started just three of the Dodgers' past seven games, and he carries a mediocre .208/.274/.312 slash line along with four homers and 12 RBI over 190 plate appearances on the campaign.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Out of lineup versus righty

Hernandez isn't in the Dodgers' lineup versus the Rangers on Thursday. Hernandez is on the bench again with righty Michael Lorenzen on the mound for the Rangers. Recently acquired Cavan Biggio has the start at third and is batting eighth Thursday. Hernandez, who was serving as the primary third baseman in Max Muncy's absence due to an oblique strain, appears set to fill that role against lefties while Biggio starts versus righties. For the season, Hernandez has a .724 OPS against lefties and a .493 OPS against righties.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Sitting Wednesday

Hernandez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers. Hernandez will sit for the second consecutive contest after starting the previous four games at third base. The 32-year-old has a .591 OPS in 155 plate appearances this season, and the acquisition of Cavan Biggio -- who is starting at the hot corner Wednesday -- could result in a reduced role for Hernandez.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: On bench Tuesday

Hernandez isn't in the Dodgers' lineup Tuesday versus the Rangers. Hernandez has been the primary third baseman for the Dodgers while Max Muncy nurses an oblique injury. In the three-game series versus the Yankees that ended Sunday, Hernandez went 3-for-10 with a home run and a double. With the 32-year-old on the bench Tuesday, Miguel Rojas is starting at third base and will bat ninth.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Slugs homer in victory

Hernandez went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, an additional run and a walk Saturday in an 11-3 win against the Yankees. Hernandez produced just enough power to poke a solo shot to the right-field porch in the fifth inning, giving Los Angeles a 3-2 lead. The veteran utility man made his third straight start at third base, and he's notched an extra-base hit in each of those games, going 3-for-10 with two doubles and Saturday's homer along with three walks. Max Muncy (oblique) is on a slow ramp-up and figures to be out of action beyond next week, so Hernandez could be in for relatively consistent playing time in the short term.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Sitting in second straight

Hernandez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates. Since Max Muncy made his last start May 15 before landing on the injured list with an oblique strain, Hernandez has served as the Dodgers' primary option at the hot corner. However, after starting at third base in the first seven games of Muncy's absence, Hernandez's hold on an everyday role may be slipping. He'll be on the bench for the second day in a row, with Chris Taylor getting the nod at the hot corner Wednesday after Miguel Rojas occupied the position Tuesday. Hernandez's move to the bench comes while he's supplied just five hits in 37 at-bats (.135 average) over his last 13 games.
