White Sox's Mike Wright: Joins ChiSox organization
Wright signed a minor-league contract with the White Sox on Sunday and was assigned to Triple-A Charlotte.
Wright linked up with the White Sox shortly after the Dodgers released him from his minor-league deal last week. The 32-year-old right-hander submitted a 4.46 ERA and 1.61 WHIP across 34.1 innings with Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to being cut loose by Los Angeles.

Dodgers' Mike Wright: Joins Dodgers on minors deal
Wright signed with the Dodgers as a non-roster invitee Monday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Unless the Dodgers are able to work some magic with Wright, the 32-year-old is unlikely to play a significant role this season. He owns a 5.97 ERA in 276 career major-league innings and posted an 11:11 K:BB alongside his 5.50 ERA in 18 innings of relief for the White Sox last year. Even against lesser talents in the KBO in 2020, he failed to impress, posting a 4.68 ERA across 29 starts.

White Sox's Mike Wright: Designated for assignment
Wright was designated for assignment by the White Sox on Friday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Wright didn't do much to justify his roster spot in 13 relief appearances this season, struggling to a 5.50 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 11:11 K:BB in 18 innings of work. He'll exit the roster as Ryan Tepera (finger) returns from the injured list.

White Sox's Mike Wright: Back from suspension
The White Sox reinstated Wright (suspension) on Sunday.
Wright didn't appear in Sunday's 5-2 win over Cleveland, but he should be available in relief for the White Sox's final six contests of the regular season. Before serving a two-game suspension, Wright had compiled a 3.63 ERA and 1.38 WHIP in 17.1 innings out of the Chicago bullpen.

White Sox's Mike Wright: Receives two-game ban
Wright had his suspension for intentionally throwing at Shohei Ohtani reduced to two games, and he'll begin serving the ban Friday at Cleveland, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
Wright was initially handed a three-game suspension for throwing at Ohtani last week, but the right-hander appealed and had one contest knocked off. Wright will be able to rejoin the White Sox's active roster ahead of Sunday's series finale.

White Sox's Mike Wright: Appealing three-game suspension
Wright was handed a three-game suspension Saturday for intentionally throwing at Shohei Ohtani on Thursday, but he's elected to appeal and won't begin serving the ban yet, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
If Wright had elected to begin serving the suspension right away, he'd be eligible to return Tuesday. It's not clear exactly which games he'll miss, if any. Manager Tony LaRussa was handed a one-game ban and will serve it Saturday.

White Sox's Mike Wright: Earns big-league call-up
The White Sox selected Wright's contract from Triple-A Charlotte on Monday.
Wright will be back in the big leagues for the first time since 2019, when he logged 19 relief appearances between the Orioles and Mariners. After a stop in the Korea Baseball Organization in 2020, Wright returned stateside this winter and joined Chicago on a minor-league deal. While pitching in a tough home park in Charlotte, Wright has been a key cog in the Triple-A rotation this season, logging a 3.40 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 90:29 K:BB. Though Carlos Rodon (shoulder) remains on the injured list, Wright is initially expected to serve as a long reliever during his time with the White Sox, as manager Tony La Russa intends to stick with Reynaldo Lopez as the team's No. 5 starter for the time being.

White Sox's Mike Wright: Starting spring opener
Wright will start Chicago's Cactus League opener against the Brewers on Sunday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
Wright is a non-roster invitee, so there's little chance he'll be in the rotation mix once the regular season kicks off. He returned to the States after playing in the Korea Baseball Organization in 2020.

White Sox's Mike Wright: Returns stateside with White Sox
Wright joined the White Sox as a non-roster invitee Thursday.
Wright has thrown 258 career innings at the MLB level and hasn't made much of an impression, struggling to a 6.00 ERA. He spent last season winning a KBO championship with the NC Dinos, though he didn't exactly excel at that level, either, posting a modest 4.68 ERA in 29 starts.

Mike Wright Jr.: Joins NC Dinos
Wright signed a contract with the NC Dinos of the Korean Baseball Organization on Friday, Dan Kurtz of MyKBO.net reports.
Wright appeared in 19 big-league games between Baltimore and Seattle in 2019 and had a 7.98 ERA, 1.91 WHIP and 30:12 K:BB across 29.1 innings. The 29-year-old never posted an ERA below 5.55 over his five major-league seasons, so he'll try to establish himself in Korea.

Mariners' Mike Wright Jr.: Sticking in organization
Wright accepted an outright assignment to Triple-A Tacoma after passing through waivers Sunday, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
Since none of the MLB's other 29 teams were willing to put in a claim for Wright, he'll remain in the organization after Seattle recently designated him for assignment for the second time this season. Between stops in the big leagues with the Mariners and Orioles in 2019, Wright has posted an 8.28 ERA and 1.94 WHIP across 29.1 innings in relief.

Mariners' Mike Wright Jr.: DFA'd again by Seattle
Wright was designated for assignment by the Mariners on Friday.
The Mariners purchased Wright's contract from Triple-A Tacoma on June 23, and he actually pitched fairly well with three runs allowed (two) earned across five innings. It's the second time the 29-year-old has been DFA'd by the Mariners this season, and he could make his way back to Tacoma if he goes unclaimed on waivers.

Mariners' Mike Wright Jr.: Returns to big leagues
Wright's contract was purchased from Triple-A Tacoma on Sunday.
Wright was designated for assignment in mid-May after recording an ugly 9.25 ERA in 24.1 innings. The Mariners will give him another shot to impress after he posted a 2.66 ERA in 20.1 frames at the Triple-A level.

Mariners' Mike Wright Jr.: Remains in organization
Wright cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday.
Wright owns a career 6.08 ERA and a 9.25 mark this season, so it's hardly a surprise to see him pass through waivers unclaimed. He'll remain in the Mariners organization as depth.

Mariners' Mike Wright Jr.: Removed from 40-man roster
The Mariners designated Wright for assignment Sunday.
Wright has been shelled between stops at Baltimore and Seattle this season, surrendering 25 earned runs on 38 hits and 11 walks in 24.1 innings. Unless another team scoops him up off waivers, Wright will report to Triple-A Tacoma and work in a relief role.

Mariners' Mike Wright Jr.: Rough Mariners tenure thus far
Wright, who allowed an earned run on three hits and recorded a strikeout over an inning in a loss to the Twins on Thursday, owns a 7.00 ERA and 1.78 WHIP across nine innings since being traded from the Orioles on April 24.
Wright's six appearances in Seattle have rarely been smooth, as he's given up at least an earned run in four of them and has been touched up for multiple runs in half of those outings. He's now been scored upon in three straight trips to the mound, and his difficulty keeping the ball in the park overall this season (six home runs surrendered over 22.1 frames) has often been his undoing.

Mariners' Mike Wright Jr.: Shipped to Seattle
Wright was traded from the Orioles to the Mariners on Wednesday in exchange for Ryne Ogren, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
The two teams struck a deal after Wright was designated for assignment by the Orioles over the weekend. Prior to being removed from Baltimore's 40-man roster, the right-hander allowed 14 runs through 13.1 innings of relief. The 29-year-old will provide bullpen depth for the Mariners.

Orioles' Mike Wright Jr.: Removed from 40-man roster
Wright was designated for assignment by the Orioles on Sunday.
Wright struggled through 13.1 innings of relief for the Orioles this season, allowing 14 runs. There isn't likely to be too much interest on the waiver wire for a 29-year-old with a 5.95 career ERA. Gabriel Ynoa's contract was selected in a corresponding move.
