Twins' John Andreoli: Lands with Twins
The Twins signed Andreoli to a minor-league contract Tuesday and assigned him to Triple-A St. Paul.
Andreoli quickly caught on with a new organization after the Phillies released him from his minor-league deal over the weekend. The 31-year-old outfielder, who appeared in seven games in the majors with the Padres in 2021, was slashing .144/.328/.250 in 136 plate appearances at Triple-A Lehigh Valley this season before being cut loose.

Phillies' John Andreoli: Catches on with Phils
Andreoli agreed Tuesday with the Phillies on a minor-league contract, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
Though he joins a Phillies organization that's extremely thin on experienced outfielders beyond reigning National League MVP Bryce Harper, Andreoli likely won't be competing for anything more than a bench role on the Opening Day roster. Even that may be ambitious for the 31-year-old journeyman, given that he'll be attending camp as a non-roster invitee and has turned in a career .224/.284/.269 slash line over 74 plate appearances in the majors between the 2018 and 2021 seasons. Andreoli is more realistically being viewed by the Phillies as organizational outfield depth at the Triple-A level.

Andreoli was returned to Triple-A El Paso on Wednesday.
Andreoli appeared in seven games during his recent stint in the majors and went 1-for-6 with a double, two runs, a walk and three strikeouts. He'll head back to Triple-A after Fernando Tatis and Eric Hosmer were reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list Wednesday.

Padres' John Andreoli: Recalled to big-league roster
Andreoli was recalled to the San Diego roster Tuesday.
The 30-year-old has hit just .105 in 19 Triple-A at-bats this year, but he will fill one of the three roster spots left by COVID-19 designations. Andreoli's stay on the big-league roster figures to be brief, barring positive COVID-19 tests for either Jurickson Profar or Jorge Mateo, both of whom were deemed close contacts of Fernando Tatis.

Red Sox's John Andreoli: Removed from player pool
Andreoli was removed from the Red Sox's 60-man player pool Friday.
The 30-year-old earned a spot in the 60-man pool to start summer camp, but it doesn't appear he ever made a serious push for a roster spot. Andreoli last played in the majors in 2018 for the Orioles and Mariners, posting a .230/.284/.262 slash line in 26 games.

Red Sox's John Andreoli: Joins summer camp
Andreoli was added to the Red Sox's 60-man player pool.
Andreoli, who is not on the 40-man roster, is a 30-year-old journeyman outfielder and joins his hometown team for the 2020 season. The Worcester (Mass.) native has 26 games worth of MLB experience (all in 2018) and 889 games in the minors, including 570 at the Triple-A level. Ostensibly, he'll compete for an outfield position, but the Red Sox have what appears to be a five-man set already in place, unless they don't want to deploy J.D. Martinez in the outfield.

Andreoli cleared waivers Friday and was invited to spring training as a non-roster invitee, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Andreoli will remain with his fourth organization of the offseason after passing through Baltimore, Seattle and Texas. The 28-year-old didn't do much during his big-league debut in 2018, hitting .230/.284/.262 in 67 plate appearances, but he's posted above-average batting lines at the Triple-A level for four straight seasons. He has a chance to be a competent bench player should a roster spot open up.

Derek Law was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

He spent most of his time with Triple-A Tacoma, where he slashed .287/.397/.401 with 19 stolen bases in 89 games. Orioles' John Andreoli: Hits bench Sunday
Andreoli is not in the lineup Sunday against the Rays, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
Andreoli picked up more playing time after Mark Trumbo (knee) went on the disabled list, but he's done little to nothing with the increased action. The 28-year-old is hitting just .205 while striking out nearly 30 percent of the time since being recalled from the minors in late August. He'll be replaced in left field by Jace Peterson on Sunday.

Orioles' John Andreoli: Playing time increasing
Andreoli will start in left field and bat sixth Sunday against the Royals.
With Mark Trumbo (knee) on the disabled list and set to undergo season-ending surgery during the upcoming week, Trey Mancini has seemingly stepped in for him as the Orioles' primary designated hitter. That has created an opening in the corner outfield spaces, which look like at least one could be filled by Andreoli on most occasions the rest of the way. Andreoli is making his fourth start in five games -- two apiece against left- and right-handed pitchers -- and could be a name to monitor for those in AL-only formats in need of an outfielder receiving steady at-bats.
