Chad Bell: Suffers elbow pain
Bell suffered elbow pain during a bullpen session Saturday and will be sidelined from throwing for at least two weeks, Dan Kurtz of MyKBO.net reports.
Bell, along with Warwick Saupold, was one of two foreign-born pitchers for the Hanwha Eagles of the KBO and threw 177.1 innings over 29 starts last season, posting an 11-10 record with a 3.50 ERA for a team that went 58-86, so this is a pretty big blow for Hanwha if he's out for a significant period of time.

Chad Bell: Heads overseas
Bell signed a contract with the Hanwha Eagles of the Korean Baseball Organization on Wednesday, Dan Kurtz of MyKBO.net reports.
Bell spent parts of the last two seasons with the Tigers, struggling to a combined 7.11 ERA and 1.84 WHIP across 69.2 innings before being designated for assignment in May. He was scooped up with the Braves, but was ultimately outrighted off the team's 40-man roster in August after struggling to a 6.22 ERA across 46.1 innings with Triple-A Gwinnett. Rather than settle for a minor-league deal, Bell opted to head overseas in an attempt to turn his career around.

Braves' Chad Bell: Outrighted to Triple-A
The Braves outrighted Bell to Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday.
Atlanta had previously optioned Bell to Triple-A earlier in the month, but the decision to outright him means that he's no longer a member of the 40-man roster but will remain in the organization after clearing waivers. The lack of a 40-man spot means it's unlikely Bell will receive a promotion to the big leagues when rosters expand Sept. 1.

Bell was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday.
Bell was promoted prior to Friday's win over the Brewers, but did not make an appearance and was optioned after the game. The 29-year-old returns to Triple-A, where he has a 4.63 ERA and 1.41 WHIP over 46.2 innings this season.

Bell was promoted from Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday.
Bell has appeared in three big-league games this season, all coming with Detroit earlier in the year, during which he logged a 8.59 ERA and 2.18 WHIP across 7.1 innings. He will provide extra depth to the Braves bullpen in low-leverage spots.

Tigers' Chad Bell: Designated for assignment
Bell was designated for assignment by the Tigers on Saturday.
Bell was removed from the 40-man roster in order to make room for Louis Coleman, who was recalled from Triple-A Toledo on Saturday. Moving forward, Bell will now be subject to waivers, though he will remain with Toledo if unclaimed by another organization. Over three appearances in the majors this year, he posted an 8.59 ERA and 2.18 WHIP across 7.1 innings of relief.

Tigers' Chad Bell: Optioned back to Toledo
Bell was sent back down to Triple-A Toledo following Thursday's game.
Bell was only with the Tigers for a few days, and failed to impress during his lone appearance, giving up five earned runs in 1.2 innings of relief during Thursday's game against Kansas City. He will continue to come out of the bullpen with Toledo while serving as extra organizational depth. The club announced that a corresponding move will be made prior to Friday's game.

Tigers' Chad Bell: Promotion to majors coming Monday
Bell will be recalled from Triple-A Toledo on Monday, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports.
It remains to be seen what the Tigers will do as a corresponding move to make room for Bell on the roster. Once Bell joins the big club, he should add depth to Detroit's bullpen. Last season, Bell threw 62.1 innings over 28 games with the Tigers, over which he was saddled with dismal numbers (6.93 ERA and 1.80 WHIP).

Bell recorded 1.2 innings of relief during Thursday's victory over Baltimore, allowing two earned runs off three hits while striking out a pair. He will continue to serve as organizational depth for the Tigers' bullpen at the Triple-A level.

Tigers' Chad Bell: To join Tigers on Thursday
Bell will be recalled from Triple-A Toledo on Thursday, Anthony Fenech of The Detroit Free Press reports.
Bell will provide added depth out of the Tigers' bullpen after appearing in 28 games with the club last season. During those contests, Bell posted a 6.93 ERA and 1.80 WHIP with a 57:31 K:BB over 62.1 innings split between relief and the rotation. Tigers' Chad Bell: Moved to minors
The Tigers optioned Bell (back) to Triple-A Toledo on Thursday.
With both Bell and fellow southpaw Blaine Hardy having been demoted to Toledo, it appears the Tigers will head into the regular season with only one lefty (Daniel Stumpf) in their bullpen. Bell had been idle in spring training for two weeks while managing a sore back, but was able to return to the mound Wednesday in the Tigers' 3-2 exhibition loss to the Braves, tossing a scoreless inning.

Tigers' Chad Bell: Recovering from sore back
Bell hasn't appeared in a Grapefruit League game since March 7 due to back soreness, but believes the issue is behind him now, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
The Tigers ordered Bell to rest for a few days following his most recent appearance and that seems to be all he needed to recover. Bell has since completed two bullpen sessions without incident and should be ready to face hitters in live batting practice soon if the Tigers aren't eager to return him to game action just yet. He's likely competing with Blaine Hardy and Caleb Thielbar for a spot in the Detroit bullpen as the second lefty after Daniel Stumpf.

Tigers' Chad Bell: Set for move to bullpen
Bell is expected to be available out of the bullpen for the Tigers' remaining nine games of the season, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
With Jordan Zimmermann (neck) starting and covering four innings in his return to action in Thursday's loss to the Twins and Daniel Norris set to reclaim a starting role Friday, Bell and Myles Jaye will likely be destined for relief duty as manager Brad Ausmus plans to maintain a five-man rotation the rest of the way. Bell has made four unsuccessful starts for the Tigers in September, lasting no more than 4.2 innings in any outing while posting a 9.39 ERA and 2.35 WHIP. If he sees any use out of the bullpen over the final handful of contests, it would likely be as a mop-up man.

Tigers' Chad Bell: Looks ugly in abbreviated start
Bell went 3.1 innings against Oakland on Tuesday, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks in a no-decision. He struck out five.
In Bell's four starts, all of which have come in September, he's yet to finish five innings successfully; he has a 9.39 ERA and 2.35 WHIP over that span. The 28-year-old rookie hasn't given fantasy owners in practically any format a reason to consider using a roster spot for him.

Tigers' Chad Bell: Knocked around for six runs Thursday
Bell (0-3) gave up six runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out four over 3.1 innings in a losing effort against the White Sox on Thursday.
It didn't get any better for Detroit after Bell left the game, as five relievers combined to give up 16 additional hits. Bell has failed to complete five frames in any of his three starts, allowing a total of 13 runs over 12 combined innings. The Tigers seem intent on continuing with Bell in their rotation, but he should be far away from fantasy rosters.

Tigers' Chad Bell: Fails to make it out of fifth inning
Bell (0-2) allowed two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out five over 4.2 innings in a no-decision against the Blue Jays on Saturday.
Bell allowed eight runners to reach base, but was fortunate to leave the contest in a 2-2 tie in a game the Tigers would go on to lose. On the season, he owns a 5.79 ERA to go along with a 1.69 WHIP, making him a low-upside fantasy option. He'll make his next start Thursday against the White Sox.
