Nationals' Harold Ramirez: Scrubbed from 40-man roster
The Nationals designated Ramirez for assignment Tuesday, Jessica Camerato of MLB.com reports.

Nationals' Harold Ramirez: Playing time likely to increase
Ramirez will serve as the Nationals' designated hitter and No. 3 batter in Monday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Ramirez will draw his second consecutive start at designated hitter and should see an uptick in playing time after Jesse Winker was traded to the Mets on Saturday and Lane Thomas was shipped to the Guardians on Monday. Since signing with Washington in mid-June and getting called up to the big club, Ramirez is slashing .319/.333/.468 with one home run and 13 RBI in 16 games.

Nationals' Harold Ramirez: Three hits, three RBI off bench
Ramirez went 3-for-3 with a double, three RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 14-3 win over the Cardinals.
Ramirez came into the game as a pinch hitter for Jesse Winker, who was pulled because he was traded to the Mets. Ramirez immediately took advantage with an excellent performance that included his first multi-hit effort since June 29. The veteran outfielder is hitting .308 (8-for-26) in July, and he may see a larger role now that Winker is out of the picture. For the season, Ramirez is slashing .275/.291/.338 with two home runs, 26 RBI, 26 runs scored and five stolen bases over 213 plate appearances between the Rays and Nationals.

Ramirez went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in a 5-4 win against the Reds on Saturday.
After Cincinnati tallied two runs in the top of the first inning, Ramirez knotted up the score with a two-run blast in the bottom of the frame. The long ball ended a 45-game homerless stretch for the veteran dating back to April 15. Ramirez went deep a career-high 12 times last season, but he's homered only twice through 61 games this year.

Ramirez, who owns a .576 OPS since being promoted from Triple-A Rochester on June 24, should continue to serve as a short-side platoon player for the Nationals.

The Rays designated Ramirez for assignment on Friday, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.
The 29-year-old began the season as Tampa Bay's primary designated hitter, though he recently had been relegated to the small side of a platoon. Ramirez has never offered much power but hit .306 in 242 games over the previous two seasons, and through 169 plate appearances in 2024 he's batting .268 with just four extra-base hits and a 1.8 percent walk rate. Rays' Harold Ramirez: Losing at-bats against righties
Ramirez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
On the bench for the third time in four games -- all against right-handed starting pitchers -- Ramirez looks as though he's fallen into a short-side platoon role. He's been playing fairly regularly against both lefties and righties for most of the season, but Ramirez's overall opportunities will likely be more limited moving forward with the Rays recently welcoming back Josh Lowe and Jonathan Aranda from the injured list.

Rays' Harold Ramirez: Collects four hits
Ramirez went 4-for-4 with a double, three runs scored and one RBI in Monday's win over the White Sox.
Ramirez garnered a start against the right-handed Mike Clevinger and made the most of it, tallying his first four-hit game of the season. The 29-year-old pushed his batting average to .286 (34-for-123) with the effort. However, starts against right-handed pitching may be become rarer for Ramirez as Josh Lowe (hamstring) returned from the injured list Monday to enter the mix for Rays outfield and designated hitter at-bats.
