  • Braves' Ozzie Albies: Back to 100 percent

Albies (hand) said Wednesday that he's 100 percent healthy for the start of spring training, Reggie Chatman of 11 Alive News Atlanta reports.

Albies missed the final week of 2025 after suffering a hamate bone fracture of his left hand, and the 29-year-old has likely been back to full health for a while. The switch-hitting second baseman said Wednesday that he has something to prove in 2026 after a disappointing season in which he posted a career-low .671 OPS over 157 games. Albies' ability to stay on the field and pile up plate appearances still made him useful from a fantasy perspective, as he delivered solid returns in the counting categories last year with 16 home runs, 14 stolen bases, 74 runs and 74 RBI.

  • Braves' Ozzie Albies: Club picking up option

President of baseball operations Alex Anthopoulos said Tuesday that Atlanta will pick up Albies' (hand) $7 million club option for 2026, Mark Zinno of 92.9 The Game reports.

Albies endured one of the worst offensive seasons of his career in 2025, slashing just .240/.306/.365 with 16 homers, 74 RBI and 14 stolen bases across 667 plate appearances. He also suffered a fracture in his left hand toward the end of the season. Despite the infielder's hardships, Atlanta will stand pat with its commitment to Albies at the keystone rather than pay him the $4 million buyout he would have been owed.

  • Braves' Ozzie Albies: Moved to 60-day IL

Atlanta transferred Albies (hand) to the 60-day injured list Friday.

Albies was placed on the injured list Tuesday with a fractured left hamate. Friday's move is purely transactional, opening up a spot on the 40-man roster for Alek Manoah, who was claimed off waivers from Toronto. Albies is expected to be fully healthy in time for training camp.

  • Braves' Ozzie Albies: Season ends with hand fracture

Atlanta placed Albies on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a fractured left hamate.

Albies suffered the injury on a swing during Monday's game against the Nationals. Typically, surgery is required with this type of injury, but it should not affect Albies' availability for spring training. Albies will finish the season with a .240/.306/.365 batting line, 16 home runs and 14 stolen bases over 157 contests. Despite the disappointing season, Albies' $7 million club option for 2026 with undoubtedly be exercised. Atlanta could mix and match at second base in the final days of the season, with Vidal Brujan, Luke Williams and Brett Wisely among those in the mix for starts.

  • Braves' Ozzie Albies: Suffers fracture in left hand

Albies was removed from Monday's game against the Nationals due to a hamate bone fracture in his left hand.

Albies appeared to suffer the injury on a follow-through of his swing during an at-bat in the third inning. This issue will shut him down for the final week of the regular season, and with Atlanta already eliminated from postseason contention, he can shift his focus on getting healthy for the start of spring training.

  • Braves' Ozzie Albies: Exits early Monday

Albies (arm) left Monday's contest against the Nationals in the third inning, 680 The Fan Atlanta reports.

Albies was in the middle of an at-bat in the bottom of the third inning when the medical staff came out, ultimately exiting the game after having his left arm/wrist examined. It's unclear what exactly the 28-year-old is dealing with, and more information on his status will likely come in the near future. In the meantime, Nick Allen replaced him at second base versus Washington.
