Orioles' Tyler O'Neill: Back in action Sunday
O'Neill (rib cage) is starting in left field and batting cleanup in Sunday's split-squad game against the Twins.
O'Neill sat out the past couple days of Grapefruit League action due to left rib cage soreness, which came on the heels of an absence due to illness. The 29-year-old is still on track to be ready for Opening Day, but it's worth remembering that his 113 contests last season represented just the second time in his big-league career that the oft-injured outfielder has reached triple digits in games played.

Orioles' Tyler O'Neill: Hoping to return Sunday
O'Neill (rib cage) will go through a full workout Saturday and hopes to return to exhibition play Sunday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
O'Neill appears to be trending in a positive direction with his injury, which is something he says he would have played through if it were the regular season. Barring any setbacks, O'Neill should be just fine for Opening Day, though this rib cage issue should serve as a reminder of the injury baggage he carries with him at 29 years old.

Orioles' Tyler O'Neill: Scratched Thursday
O'Neill was scratched from the lineup ahead of Thursday's Grapefruit League game versus Pittsburgh due to left rib cage soreness.
O'Neill also missed a few days earlier this week due to an illness. The Orioles are saying his removal from Thursday's lineup was precautionary, per Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com, so O'Neill should be able to return to game action within a few days. In the meantime, Colton Cowser will cover left field and bat fourth.

Orioles' Tyler O'Neill: Batting third in return to lineup
O'Neill (illness) will start in left field and bat third in Monday's Grapefruit League game against the Red Sox, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.
Manager Brandon Hyde said Saturday that O'Neill had been battling an illness, but the 29-year-old needed just a couple days off to move past the ailment. After signing a three-year deal with Baltimore in December, O'Neill is projected to serve as an everyday player while occupying a prominent spot in the lineup versus both right- and left-handed pitching.

Orioles' Tyler O'Neill: Set to play Monday
O'Neill (illness) rejoined the Orioles in camp Sunday and is expected to play in Monday's spring game against the Red Sox, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.
O'Neill briefly stepped away from the team due to an illness but won't end up missing much time. The 29-year-old inked a three-year, $49.5 million contract with Baltimore in December and will be a key outfield piece after clubbing 31 homers for Boston last year.

Orioles' Tyler O'Neill: Latches on with O's
O'Neill signed a three-year, $49.5 million contract with the Orioles on Saturday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
O'Neill enjoyed a resurgent campaign after moving to Boston in 2024, slashing .241/.336/.511 with 31 home runs and 61 RBI across 473 regular-season plate appearances. Much of the 29-year-old's success came versus southpaws, against whom he posted a 1.179 OPS in 156 trips to the plate. Now in Baltimore, O'Neill could slot in primarily at DH given his limited range and injury history while occasionally taking over in the corner outfield for Colton Cowser or Heston Kjerstad against left-handed starters.
