Tyler Goeddel: Let go by Nationals
Goeddel was released by the Nationals on Saturday, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
Since jumping prematurely to the big leagues in 2016 as a Rule 5 draft pick with the Phillies, Goeddel hasn't looked particularly close to getting back to The Show. The 26-year-old recorded a .208/.300/.289 slash line in 69 games for Double-A Harrisburg prior to earning his release.

Nationals' Tyler Goeddel: Reaches minors deal with Washington
Goeddel agreed to a minor-league contract with the Nationals, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.
Goeddel received 234 plate appearances with the Phillies in 2016, but that was largely a byproduct of him being a Rule 5 selection rather than earning his way to the majors on merit. In the two seasons since, he's played exclusively at the Double-A or Triple-A ranks in the Phillies, Reds and Dodgers organizations. He slashed a collective .219/.298/.329 between three minor-league stops in 2018.

Dodgers' Tyler Goeddel: Inks minors deal with Dodgers
Goeddel joined the Dodgers on a minor-league deal and will be assigned to Double-A Tulsa, Barry Lewis of the Tulsa World reports.
The 25-year-old, who hasn't seen the major leagues since 2016, was hitting .229/.326/.349 with one home run and 10 RBI for the Reds' Triple-A Louisville. Goeddel will serve as organizational depth for the Dodgers.

Reds' Tyler Goeddel: Outrighted to Triple A
Goeddel cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Louisville on Friday.
Goeddel joins a crowded outfield at Louisville, led by highly-touted left fielder Jesse Winker, so it's going to be tough to make an immediate impact. Nonetheless, it's a new beginning for the 24-year-old after being designated for assignment by the Phillies last week, though he'll need to improve upon his .192/.258/.291 slash line from 2016 if he wants to get back to the big leagues.

Reds' Tyler Goeddel: Swept up by Reds
Goeddel was claimed off waivers by the Reds on Wednesday, Meghan Montemurro of The News Journal reports.
Goeddel, the top Rule 5 draft pick in the winter of 2015, spent all of the 2016 campaign at the big-league level, but was DFA'd this offseason after batting just .192 in 92 games. The Reds decided to take a flier on the young outfielder given their focus on acquiring young talent, although the multitude of outfield options in Cincinnati and Triple-A Louisville forced the Reds to option him straight to Double-A Pensacola.

Phillies' Tyler Goeddel: Designated for assignment
Goeddel was designated for assignment by the Phillies on Thursday, Matt Gelb of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
The move was made to clear room on the 40-man roster for Brock Stassi, who made the Phillies' Opening Day roster on Thursday. Goeddel slashed just .192/.258/.291 in 213 at-bats with the Phillies in 2016.

Phillies' Tyler Goeddel: Will begin season at Double-A
Goeddel will begin the season at Double-A Reading, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
It's a drastic fall for Goeddel, who played in 92 games with the Phillies last season as a Rule 5 pick. However, with no room at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, the team had little choice but to place the left fielder the next rung down. "I'm not too happy about that, but you can't control it," he said. Nonetheless, the demotion will warrant plenty of playing opportunities for Goeddel and allow him to find his swing after a difficult spring (7-for-28 with 12 strikeouts).

Phillies' Tyler Goeddel: Expected to start year in minors
Goeddel is expected to open the season at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, Ryan Lawrence of the Philly Voice reports.
Goeddel is in camp competing for a bench job, but there is little chance he cracks the active roster after losing a year of development as a Rule 5 pick last season. He hit a paltry .192 with a .549 OPS, and managed just 55 at-bats after the All-Star break. He is expected to rotate through the outfield and DH spot at Triple-A where he could position himself for another look in the majors this summer if he gets off to a strong start.

Manager Pete Mackanin said he was unsure if Goeddel (concussion) will be able to play again this season, Matt Breen of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Phillies' Tyler Goeddel: Diagnosed with concussion
Goeddel was diagnosed with a concussion Thursday, Jack McCaffery of the Delaware County Daily Times reports.
After being hit in the head by a pitch Wednesday night, it seems one of the worst-case scenarios happened to Goeddel. Unfortunately, this could keep the Rule-5 pick out for the rest of the season if he doesn't clear the concussion protocol quickly enough, but his status should become clearer as he continues to rest over the coming days.

Goeddel left Wednesday's game after being hit by a pitch on the side of the helmet, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
The ball that hit Goeddel was clocked at 93 mph, but fortunately, he was able to stand up and walk off the field under his own power. Goeddel will be subjected to a battery of tests before being cleared to return to action.

Phillies' Tyler Goeddel: Socks first-inning homer in victory
Goeddel went 2-for-4 with a homer, three RBI and a steal -- the first of his career -- against the Marlins on Wednesday.
His two-run shot in the first inning ended up being all the offense the Phillies would need for a victory, but Goeddel chipped in an RBI single the very next inning just to be sure. Unfortunately, this was a rare shining moment for the 23-year-old outfielder, who had previously collected exactly one hit in the month of July and is still hitting a brutal .216 with an 8:39 BB:K in limited playing time.

Goeddel went 0-for-2 after entering Friday's game as a pinch hitter.

Phillies' Tyler Goeddel: Starts Monday's game
Goeddel is in the lineup for Monday's game against the Diamondbacks.
With Goeddel starting in left field, Cody Asche will return to the bench. Over the last 14 days, Goeddel has gone just 2-for-15 and struck out three times. Additionally, Goeddel is hitting just .205 against left-handed pitchers, which could be trouble against southpaw Robbie Ray of the Diamondbacks.

Phillies' Tyler Goeddel: Out of lineup Saturday
Goeddel is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks, Stephen Gross of the Morning Call reports.
Goeddel will be on the bench for the seventh time in the last eight games. Even though manager Pete Mackanin said that it is still a priority for him to play Goeddel as much as possible, he is losing time to Cody Asche and Jimmy Paredes, the two Phillies manning the corner-outfield spots for Saturday's game. Goeddel is hitting .234 with three home runs and 11 RBI in 128 at-bats on the year, but the 23-year-old is only 5-for-30 in June.

Goeddel started Thursday's game against the Blue Jays after sitting out the past five games in favor of Cody Asche and Jimmy Paredes in the corner outfield spots. Phillies' Tyler Goeddel: Returns to lineup after five games off
Goeddel is starting in left field and batting seventh against Toronto on Thursday, Jim Salisbury of CSNPhilly.com reports.
He has not started the last five games as Phillies manager Pete Mackanin has elected to go with Cody Asche and Jimmy Paredes in the corner outfield positions recently. Goeddel is just 8-for-44 (.182) over his last 16 games to go along with 12 strikeouts. He'll look to get back on track against J.A. Happ on Thursday.
