Curtis returned to the Rangers on a minor-league deal Monday.

Curtis was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports.
Curtis will join the Rangers for the first time since being claimed in early August. The 26-year-old has a career 3.73 ERA and 1.63 WHIP over 31.1 innings and adds to the Rangers' bullpen depth with September's expanded rosters.

Rangers' Zac Curtis: Claimed and optioned by Rangers
Curtis was claimed off waivers by the Rangers on Tuesday and optioned to Triple-A Round Rock.
Curtis has a solid 3.73 career ERA in 31.1 major-league innings, but his walk and strikeout rates each sit at an ugly 17.7 percent. He could be called up when the Rangers need another lefty or a new long man in the bullpen. Brandon Mann was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

Phillies' Zac Curtis: Designated for assignment
Curtis was designated for assignment by the Phillies on Tuesday.
Curtis has an excellent 1.86 ERA in 9.2 innings for the Phillies this season, though his underlying numbers don't support that success, as he's walked as many batters as he's struck out (10). The move makes room on the 40-man roster for deadline-day acquisition Wilson Ramos.

Phillies' Zac Curtis: Sent to minors
Curtis was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday.
Curtis struck out three batters across 1.1 innings in Friday's matchup, but the Phillies needed a refresher in the bullpen after multiple days of heavy use. With Vince Velasquez (forearm) headed to the DL, the team called up Jake Thompson and activated Pat Neshek (forearm) in corresponding moves.

Phillies' Zac Curtis: Tosses two scoreless innings
Curtis threw a pair of scoreless innings in Tuesday's loss to the Yankees, hitting a batter and allowing a hit and a walk while striking out one.
Curtis' 2.16 ERA is the lowest of the three lefties in the Philadelphia bullpen, outpacing Austin Davis (2.70) and Adam Morgan (5.57). That low ERA has come in 8.1 innings, however, and it isn't supported by his underlying numbers. He has more walks (8) than strikeouts (7), with ERA estimators such as SIERA and xFIP putting his deserved ERA north of 6.00. It would be quite surprising to see him move into a more important role any time soon.

Phillies' Zac Curtis: Recalled from Triple-A
Curtis was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday.
It's a somewhat surprising call-up, as the Phillies already have a pair of lefties in the bullpen in Adam Morgan and Austin Davis. Morgan hasn't been particularly impressive, though, and Davis has recorded just a single major-league out, so Curtis has a chance to impress and stick around. The 25-year-old has a 4.33 ERA in 27 career big-league innings, with an ugly 21:23 K:BB. Jake Thompson was optioned to Lehigh Valley in a corresponding move.

Phillies' Zac Curtis: Sent back to minors
Curtis was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Thursday.
Curtis allowed two earned runs on three hits and three walks while striking out a pair over two innings of relief against the Giants during Wednesday's game, and will now head back to Lehigh Valley in exchange for Jake Thompson. During his brief stay with the Phillies, Curtis wasn't able to find the strike zone, walking a total of seven batters across just 5.1 innings. With the revolving door that is a major-league bullpen, expect to see Curtis back with Philadelphia at some point later on this year.

Phillies' Zac Curtis: Recalled from Triple-A
Curtis was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Monday.
Curtis will join the big club to offer a fresh bullpen arm after Jake Thompson was sent back to the minors following a multi-inning relief outing Sunday. The 25-year-old owns a solid 2.61 ERA and 12:5 K:BB across 10.1 innings with the IronPigs this season. Look for him to pitch in middle relief during his time with the Phillies.

Phillies' Zac Curtis: Optioned to minors
Curtis was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Monday, Stephen Gross of the Morning Call reports.
Curtis was battling for a role as a left-handed reliever in the Phillies' bullpen but was always a long shot behind Adam Morgan and Hoby Milner. The 25-year-old has received brief callups in each of the past two seasons, recording a 4.57 ERA (and a 6.71 xFIP) in 21.2 major-league innings. He fared better at Double-A Arkansas in the Mariners' system last year, tossing 51.1 innings with a 3.51 ERA. He'll get his first taste of Triple-A action at the start of this season and could be back in the big leagues in a low-leverage role at some point in 2018.

Phillies' Zac Curtis: Scooped up by Phillies
Curtis was claimed off waivers by the Phillies on Monday.
Curtis will join the Phillies after being designated for assignment by the Mariners last week. The 25-year-old southpaw only appeared in three games for Seattle this season, but he compiled a fine 3.51 ERA and 60 strikeouts in 51.1 innings with Double-A Arkansas. Curtis should offer low-leverage bullpen depth for Philadelphia down the stretch.

Mariners' Zac Curtis: Cast off 40-man
Curtis was designated for assignment by the Mariners on Monday.
Curtis was cut loose to clear room on the roster for Jacob Hannemann and Seth Frankoff, who were both claimed off waivers from the Cubs. The 25-year-old appeared in three games for the big club this season, allowing three unearned while striking out two in 4.2 innings of work. While he doesn't have much major-league experience, he compiled a respectable 3.51 ERA and 60 strikeouts in 51.1 innings for Double-A Arkansas this season, so it's possible he'll draw some interest on waivers.

Mariners' Zac Curtis: Shipped back to Arkansas
Curtis was optioned to Double-A Arkansas on Saturday.
After two stellar outings for the Mariners earlier in the year, Curtis struggled Friday night, uncorking two wild pitches, hitting a batter and serving up a home run in a three-inning outing. Now that he's likely unavailable to pitch for the next few days, he'll return to the minors in favor of Rob Whalen, a fresh arm recalled from Triple-A Tacoma in a corresponding move.

Mariners' Zac Curtis: Punches ticket to big leagues
Curtis was recalled from Double-A Arkansas on Friday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Curtis will return to the big leagues to offer Seattle a fresh arm after the team burned through its bullpen once again Thursday. He'll take over a middle relief role, replacing Chase De Jong on the roster.

Mariners' Zac Curtis: Returns to minors Monday
Curtis was optioned to Double-A Arkansas on Monday.
The Mariners needed a spot in the bullpen for recently activated reliever Steve Cishek, so even though Curtis didn't allow a run in two relief appearances, he'll head back to the level at which he started the year. He'll continue to develop as a bullpen arm, and his strong first impression with Seattle could bode well for his chances of getting a late-season call-up.

Mariners' Zac Curtis: Second consecutive scoreless effort Friday
Curtis pitched a scoreless two-thirds of an inning in Friday's 4-0 loss to the Blue Jays.
The 24-year-old southpaw now has 1.2 scoreless innings to his credit since being called up from Double-A Arkansas on Thursday. Curtis had posted a 3.21 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 13:4 K:BB over 14 innings across 10 appearances in the minors before arriving in Seattle, and could see his role expand as he increasingly gains the trust of manager Scott Servais.
