Ruiz went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer and a double in Thursday's 7-1 win over the Rockies.
The backstop capped the scoring by taking Jimmy Herget deep in the eighth inning, Ruiz's ninth homer this season. The 28-year-old has been hot since the start of August, going 20-for-53 (.377) with a pair of homers and a .978 OPS in his last 16 games.
