Padres' Fernando Tatis: Absent from Saturday's lineup

Tatis is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against Arizona.
The Padres have clinched a spot in the postseason, so starters like Tatis will receive rest over the weekend, per Bob Nightengale of USA Today. Tyler Wade will start in right field and bat ninth against Diamondbacks left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez.
Tatis went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Thursday's loss to the Dodgers.
Tatis singled in his first at-bat and later drew a walk in the eighth before going on to steal his 11th base of the campaign. He's now hit safely in 13 of his last 14 games (including one game in which he only entered as a pinch hitter), batting .333 (19-for-57) over that stretch with seven homers, 12 RBI and 11 runs scored.
Tatis went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the White Sox.

Tatis has now hit safely in seven straight games with four homers, eight RBI and eight runs scored over that span. His sixth-inning steal brought him up to double digits for the fifth straight season since he broke in to Major League Baseball. For the year, he's slashing .283/.348/.485 with 18 homers, 45 RBI, 61 runs and a 30:83 BB:K in 399 plate appearances.
