Mets' Anderson Severino: Secures MiLB deal from Mets
The Mets signed Severino to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training Sunday, Michael Mayer of MetsmerizedOnline.com reports.
Severino spent the 2025 season in the Mexican League, posting a 2.68 ERA and 46:20 K:BB over 37 innings. He has not pitched for a major-league organization since he made six relief appearances for the White Sox in 2022.

White Sox's Anderson Severino: Outrighted to minors
The White Sox outrighted Severino to Triple-A Charlotte on Sept. 10.
Severino remains in the organization after he cleared waivers when the White Sox designated him for assignment Sept. 9. The 28-year-old lefty had appeared in six games at the big-league level this season, allowing five earned runs on seven hits and four walks across 7.1 innings.

White Sox's Anderson Severino: Designated for assignment
Severino was designated for assignment by the White Sox on Friday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Severino carried an 11.91 ERA and 2.84 WHIP over 22.2 innings in Triple-A Charlotte this season. Nicholas Padilla was claimed off waivers from the Cubs in a corresponding move Friday.

White Sox's Anderson Severino: Demoted to Triple-A
The White Sox optioned Severino to Triple-A Charlotte on Monday, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
Severino and utility infielder Danny Mendick were sent to the minors with the White Sox needing to reduce their active roster from 28 to 26 players ahead of Monday's deadline. Following his April 12 promotion from Charlotte, Severino made six appearances out of the Chicago bullpen, striking out nine over 7.1 innings while giving up five runs on seven hits and four walks.

White Sox's Anderson Severino: Three strikeouts in debut
Severino walked one and did not allow a hit while striking out three across 1.1 scoreless innings Thursday against Seattle.
Severino was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte earlier in the week with Lucas Giolito (abdomen) and AJ Pollock (hamstring) both hitting the injured list. He pitched well in his major-league debut, though Severino struggled with his control as he both issued a walk and hit a batter. While he has good strikeout stuff, the 27-year-old has posted elevated walk rates throughout the minor leagues. He is likely to remain in a low-leverage role out of the bullpen.

White Sox's Anderson Severino: Called up to bigs
The White Sox recalled Severino from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday.
With starting pitcher Lucas Giolito (abdomen) and outfielder AJ Pollock (hamstring) moving to the injured list, the White Sox have opted to replace them on the 28-man active roster with a righty and lefty reliever in Jimmy Lambert and Severino, respectively. Severino, who has yet to appear in the big leagues, narrowly missed out on a spot in Chicago's Opening Day bullpen. He didn't allow any home runs in the minors last season and racked up 53 strikeouts across 45.2 innings between Triple-A and Double-A Birmingham, but a 16.5 percent walk rate likely took him out of the mix for a promotion to the big leagues in 2021. Expect him to work in low-leverage spots for the White Sox initially.

White Sox's Anderson Severino: Sent to minors
The White Sox optioned Severino to Triple-A Charlotte on Monday.
The 27-year-old lefty's demotion likely puts Bennett Sousa in good position to clinch the final spot in the White Sox's Opening Day bullpen. Severino, meanwhile, will bide his time at Charlotte, where he dominated over 13 appearances following his late-season promotion from Double-A Birmingham. Across 14 innings at the Triple-A level, Severino allowed one earned run on nine hits and seven walks while striking out 20.
