Marlins' Eury Perez: Eased into spring
Perez gave up one run on one hit and two walks over one inning in the Marlins' Grapefruit League game against the Cardinals on Monday. He struck out one.
The 22-year-old right-hander tossed 19 pitches (nine strikes) in his first start of the spring before giving way to Max Meyer. Perez threw 118 innings across three levels in 2025, his first season back from Tommy John surgery, and while he scuffled early he posted a 3.86 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 91:22 K:BB in 79.1 innings from July to the end of the regular season. The Marlins will let Perez ramp up slowly in camp, but he's locked into an Opening Day rotation spot.

Marlins' Eury Perez: Mixed results in sixth loss
Perez (7-6) took the loss Saturday against the Mets, allowing three runs on three hits and three walks in 5.1 innings. He struck out 11.
It was a mixed bag for Perez, who struggled with hard contact by yielding three extra-base hits but fanned a season-high 11. The hard-throwing right-hander had an up-and-down year after a late start amid his recovery from 2024 Tommy John surgery, though he flashed plenty of upside for fantasy managers to take into consideration ahead of 2026. Perez will end the campaign with a 4.25 ERA across 95.1 innings, but his 1.05 WHIP, 105:32 K:BB and .195 opponent batting average are highly promising figures.

Marlins' Eury Perez: Fans nine in short outing
Perez didn't factor into the decision Sunday against the Rangers, allowing two hits and a walk across four scoreless innings. He struck out nine.
Perez struck out nine of the 16 batters he faced, and retired 10 straight batters at one point, flashing dominant stuff once again but exited after 88 pitches. The right-hander's September has been a tale of two halves, as he was tagged for 10 runs across his first two starts of the month but has since bounced back with nine straight scoreless innings over his last two. Perez will carry a 4.20 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 94:29 K:BB through 90 frames into his next scheduled outing against the Mets.

Marlins' Eury Perez: Rebounds for seventh win
Perez (7-5) allowed one hit and struck out six without walking a batter over five scoreless innings to earn the win over the Rockies on Tuesday.
Perez likely had more to give, but a rain delay cut his start short at 71 pitches (46 strikes). It was still an improvement on his recent work -- he had allowed a total of 29 runs (27 earned) over 31 innings across his last seven starts, posting a 7.84 ERA in that span. The 22-year-old has shown flashes of potential this season, mainly in July, but he's also displayed plenty of inconsistency. He's at a 4.40 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 85:28 K:BB through 86 innings across 18 starts. He's projected for another road start over the weekend against the Rangers.

Marlins' Eury Perez: Fans seven, falls apart late
Perez didn't factor into the decision against the Nationals on Wednesday, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out seven over 5.2 innings.
Perez looked dominant early, striking out five of the first six batters he faced and allowing just three hits through his first five frames, before unraveling in the sixth and surrendering four straight hits to end his day. After a stellar July, the young right-hander has struggled of late, posting a 7.84 ERA across his last seven outings (32 innings). Perez now owns a 4.67 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 79:28 K:BB across 81 innings this season and will look to replicate his early-inning success from Wednesday in his next scheduled start against the Rockies, a matchup that should be favorable given Colorado's .307 OBP since the All-Star break. He'll have to contend with the hitter-friendly environment of Coors Field, however.
